Again, Aqua fell silent for a moment. She wasn't entirely sure exactly when she'd first realized that her interest in Terra might just be something more than feelings for a friend. Obviously, it had happened, or she wouldn't have been explaining it to him, but when? That was harder.

"I think it's been building for a while now," she answered slowly. "There just wasn't ever time to say something." Not that she would have been all that likely to bring it up even if there had been. Maybe if things hadn't started falling apart all at once she would have said something to Terra the first time they'd met up after Radiant Garden. (Maybe she wouldn't have, considering her general shyness about the topic.) But the matter was out of her hands now. It was as much up to Terra to decide what to do as it was up to her.

All she had to do was wait, and not die of either embarrassment or nervousness, which might well be easier said than done.
