Biting the bullet was probably an apt metaphor here. Terra almost immediately picked up on Ven's changing mood. The fact that he wasn't scarfing down his food like a wild animal was a big clue after all.

Terra set his own fork down, his appetite not doing so well now that the news was out. He stared at his plate though, "It...doesn't change anything really.
