Mission 13
Characters: Xion and all who wish to talk with her
Content: Xion's decided to do some information-seeking re: potentially awkward subject
Location: Media deck
Time of Day: Afternoon, probably before Vanitas found Ven
Warnings: Potentially awkward conversations of "the talk" variety, depending on how much people notice about her reading material.
Xion had taken to spending a lot of time on the media deck this week. Mostly because the weapons deck, where she usually liked to train, didn’t seem like such a good training ground anymore.
Then there was the fact that the media deck looked so much like Beast’s Castle. She’d liked that world, and it was good to have a bit of home here, even if only for a short time.
She’d decided to take the chance to finally try to some investigating into some things she’d heard about but everyone seemed to be hesitant to explain. Not that they probably wouldn’t tell her eventually if she asked, but she didn’t like to bother them when it made them feel awkward. The library was supposed to have books on everything, right? She could just look it up there.
First thing was first, though. She played for a bit with the dog-footrest until it settled down enough to follow her quietly as she looked for books. Not that there was a lot, but she found a few geared towards “teenagers and the changes they’re experiencing” that looked promising, and then a few novels just because they looked fun--and were about relationships, which was interesting at the moment.
Sitting down in a chair (that had moved so it was beside a table), she decided to start with one of the novels. She picked up one that had two smiling blond girls on it (it looked like the first of a series) and began to read.

Assuming this is after the riff, but before his network post
Well, he wasn't about to get fitted so soon, so he roamed the decks, trying to find some way to vent his frustrations. He'd merely peeked in most of them, finding the new settings way too strange for his liking.
When he got to the media deck, he was pleased to find that it was relatively normal, freaky statues aside. He perked up when he saw who was currently in there, too.
"Yo," he greeted.
Probably a bit before the riff, but wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff works.
Then again, they were boys, and boys didn't wear dresses. Or so she'd been told. Maybe that had something to do with it.
At his greeting, she looked up and smiled. "Hello, Kotetsu."
The footrest-dog was out from under her feet and on its way to greet him almost before she'd finished speaking.
Works for me!
"What're you up to?"
She's reading Sweet Valley,if you couldn't guess. X3
Xion held up her book in answer to his question. "Reading."
That was my guess. X3
"What'cha find?"
w00t! It's kind of sad I remember the title of the first book in the series as well as I do.
"It didn't look as interesting as some others in the series, but I thought I should start from the beginning."
I don't think I ever really read many of 'em...
"No offense meant or anything, but that seems kinda... girly? I kinda thought you'd be into something with a little more action."
They were my brain candy for years.
The comment on the book made her frown in thought. 'Girly' is a new descriptor for her. "Most of those didn't have many girl characters, and didn't have much about relationships or anything like that."

"So, what are you curious about?"
no subject
She sat back in her chair, fidgeting to get comfortable as she tried to find the words to explain herself. "I guess...I was just wondering how they work. How do you know you like someone that way? What do you do when you do know, or they say they feel that way about you? How's it different from friends or family?"
no subject
Kotetsu pulled up a chair, resting his elbows on the table. "Dunno how to describe it. You just know. It's not really different from being friends or family. It's like... they're both at once."

Especially silly for a Replica in some ways, but curiosity is curiosity.

She certainly hoped so.
