Rockin' Around The Charlie Brown Christmas Tree [OPEN]

Characters: Anyone and everyone!
Content: Get your Christmas Party on!
Location: The Weapons Deck
Time of day: Evening of Christmas Day, after people have gotten presents
Warnings: None...for now...

[Since the Weapons Deck is totally empty, Mike and the Bots have taken it upon themselves to transform it for a rockin’ good Christmas Party! The Charlie Brown Tree has been safely set aside too; all decorated up. There’s a table with punch, food and way too many desserts for any group of people to handle, a bunch of Christmas decorations thanks to Rarity and her decorating crew, and even Christmas music that’s only slightly annoying!

Characters are free to come in and grab food, mingle, play games, exchange gifts or stories...whatever they want! Obviously, treat this thread as party-style.

There’s one more special note...there’s a couple bowls of punch sitting next to a big pan of Green Bean Casserole of Tranquility. Unfortunately, Crow accidentally mixed in some leftover Waters of Forgetfulness to make the punch. That water, combined with the spicy punch flavoring, has created an unusual concoction. If your characters drink some of this punch, they won’t notice anything wrong...at least yet!]

"Sure I'm okay! I'm great! Why wouldn't I be?" Sora replied. What was to freak out about? Yeah, he was feeling a bit lighter and happier than usual. But Roxas needed to learn to lighten up himself a bit, too. As if to suddenly prove this, Sora gave a short burst of laughter.

Roxas might have passed it off Sora just being weird for the special occasion, but the sudden laughter gave him pause. If he been starting to think he was just being paranoid about the punch, he didn't think that anymore.

"No, you're not okay," he said, suddenly stern, "I think you've had enough of that punch. Give me the cup."

"No, I'm totally fine!" Sora stared down at the cup with a bit of a frown...what was wrong with the punch? It tasted pretty good to him. Well, maybe Roxas wanted to try it! He was trying to get Roxas to open up a bit, right?

"What? Do you want some, too?" Sora motioned with the cup towards the table where there were still some bowls of it left. "It's pretty good!"

"No, I don't want any of the punch," Roxas replied, trying not to sound snippy, "But I think you've had enough of it." Obviously, Sora wasn't going to hand over the cup. Well, spilling it was better than having him drink any more of it, so Roxas made a grab for the cup, though whether he succeeded or not was entirely depended on whether or not Sora's reflexes were intact.

"No I haven't! I haven't even had two cups of it!" He didn't much resist when Roxas tried to grab it out of his hands, however...it just spilled some as Roxas took it from him. Sora's frown grew a little deeper.

It wasn't like he was drunk or anything! Was he? He'd never been drunk before, but he knew from stories that that usually involved slurring your words and goofy expressions and walking around like you were about to trip. And he could talk and walk just fine, so it couldn't be that.

"Sheeeeeesh, you really gotta lighten up!"

Roxas wasn't thinking alcohol was the issue. That, as far as he knew, had a distinctive odor. He was thinking more along the lines of other things that could be put into punch that could cause problems. Magic or not, there were a lot of possibilities.

"Sora, you're... really acting kind of weird." He was trying to sound stern, but anyone actually paying attention would realize he also sounded worried. Boy, did he wish he'd caught Sora before he'd gotten into the punch.

"Weird how?" It was Christmas, and Christmas just made him happy! All this bright color and all the people! Man, he hadn't felt this excited in awhile. He just wanted to do everything!

Sora glanced around the deck, a huge grin on his face. All of a sudden, singing sounded like a real good idea. Or just performing. It was too bad Donald and Goofy weren't here, because they'd be all for joining in! He turned back to Roxas. "Roxas! What Christmas carols do you know?"

"Not like yourself, in some ways," Roxas replied. Even if it wasn't majorly different, Sora behavior wasn't right. He wasn't sure how to bring up that Sora's response about the present, acting as if Roxas had done something wrong when he said he hadn't opened it yet. And maybe now wasn't a good time to try to discuss it anyway.

Of course, then Roxas was completely thrown off by the question of Christmas carols, "What? No, I don't know any Christmas carols."

Sora did not seem to catch onto what Roxas was trying to imply. He let out another burst of laughter. "Of course I'm me! Who else would I be? I am 100% me!"

He then suddenly began to run through a gamut of Christmas carols. "None? Come on, there's Jingle Bells, and Deck the Halls, and Rudolph, and Santa Claus is Comin' To Town, and and--oh, WAIT!" He suddenly interrupted himself. "I know what we need!" With that, Sora prepared to run off to some unknown destination.

"Wha- Hey!" Caught off guard, Roxas missed his chance to catch Sora before he ran off, and so had to follow him, "Sora! What are you doing?"

"Gonna go get the perfect costume!" Sora called back with an ear-to-ear grin, and then picked up speed towards the end of the deck.

Thus far, Aqua had mostly spent her time on the outermost fringes of the party. True, it was a very nice party, but she wasn't really the sort for partying. There had never really been much call for it at home, and she was quite content to simply use the time to catch up with her friends. The books she'd found waiting for her could wait.

All the same, she didn't expect to find herself being all but barreled over by a runaway keybearer. Even if was a party she wouldn't have expected anyone to get quite that rowdy, and she stumbled back a few steps in an attempt to keep from falling head over heels.

This was ridiculous and whoever had fiddled with that punch was going to pay for it if Roxas found out who they were. But, at the moment, he could really only go for damage control... hopefully.

When Sora almost bowled over Aqua, Roxas realized this was just plain getting out of hand and that, really, he was going to need some help. Maybe...

"Aah! Grab him!" he called out, "Someone screwed around with the punch and he had some!"

"Hi Aqua! Bye Aqua!" Sora only gave Aqua a brief greeting as he nearly ran into her. "I'll be back in just a sec!"

It was practically a race now as far as Sora was concerned. They wanted to grab him? They'd have to catch up! He had way too much energy and things to do now to just sit and listen!

Aqua might not have had access to the spells she might have once used to offer even a slight advantage, but even without them, she was no slouch at races. As long as Sora wasn't as fast as Ven she was pretty sure she'd do alright, and almost as soon as Roxas had spoken up she was off.

She wasn't quite sure what was going on, but last she'd spoken to Sora he hadn't struck as being quite this... excitable, for lack of a better term.

Roxas would explain as much as he could as soon as they caught Sora. In the meantime, he was wondering where Sora could be headed given that he'd said something about a costume. If he knew his way around well enough, Roxas would have headed to the most likely place to try to head him off, but there was no such luck right now.

Hopefully, whatever had gotten into Sora wouldn't lead to any fighting, but maybe that concern was better left to when they caught him...

Fortunately for Aqua, he wasn't quite as fast as Ven. Unfortunately for her, Sora was still running pretty fast. But fortunately again for her, since the party was so crowded, Sora was having trouble weaving through people without bumping into them. While he got close to the stairs, he was stopped by a group of friends in a cluster, chatting with each other. A bit of slipping around by the wall, and he was then just a few steps from the stairs...

Luckily, Aqua had an easier time slipping through the crowd. This did not, however, mean that she had any idea of where exactly he was going and she was left with simply doing her best to stay approximately parallel to where he was going.

If she'd heard what Sora had been intending to get, she might have been able to guess at which deck he was going to. But really that shouldn't matter as long as she kept him in sight. Hopefully the steps would keep him from getting away too fast. Hopefully.

Roxas wasn't having any easier a time maneuvering through the party than Sora was, but at least he kept both Sora and Aqua in sight. Really, where could Sora be going?

And then it occurred to Roxas that, hey, Aqua had been here long enough that she might know where Sora could be heading given what he was trying to do. So he called to her.

"He said something about a costume!"

"Yeah, it'll be great!" Sora called back to Roxas, completely oblivious to the fact that their intentions were not to see how great his sudden idea was.

Once reaching them, he started up the stairs...not running as fast as before, mostly because all of a sudden something else sounded really fun and he was taking the time to jump from one side of the stairs to the other.

Costumes? Aqua couldn't see why Sora would want to find a costume, but it did give her an idea of where about Sora would be heading to.

"Got it!" she called back to Roxas, before following Sora on up the stairs. Here, Sora's distraction turned out to be to her advantage. While she knew that she wouldn't catch up to him just be hurrying up the stairs - he'd hear her coming no matter how hard she tried - that didn't mean she was going to admit defeat. Far from it. Instead, she took a moment to watch Sora's jumping before she took to the stairs.

Or at least, she mostly took to the stairs. Nothing of what she did could actually be called climbing the stairs. Rather, it was a good deal more acrobatic, and seemed to involve the walls just as much as the actual stairs in order to get up faster. Just about the only thing it didn't involve was actually cartwheeling up the stairs.

Odd though it may have looked, it worked. Between Sora's new interest and her moving faster she managed to catch up to Sora, grabbing a hold of his arm. It really wasn't going to be much more than a temporary measure, but it would do for now.

Roxas was impressed with the acrobatics, but now really wasn't the time to comment on them. He hurried to catch up and really hoped it wouldn't come to a fight.

"Sora, seriously what has gotten into you?" he asked as he caught up.

Sora completely ignored Roxas's question to focus more on Aqua, who had him by the arm. Apparently, Sora was quite impressed by the acrobatics too. "That was aaaaawwwwesome!"

"Can you show me how to do that? I could totally do that!" He asked Aqua first, then seemed to have the idea that he could do it just as well a moment later. He attempted to drag Aqua over to the railing to show off his own skills, grinning with excitement.

Could she...? Well, she wasn't about to doubt Sora could learn. It wasn't really all that hard. Just time consuming. But she certainly wasn't about to try teaching him while they were still standing on the stairway. Neither was she entirely sure about teaching Sora anything when he was acting like this.

"Maybe later," she answered, doing her best to remain the immovable object and keep Sora from jumping onto the rail. She didn't at all like the possibilities inherent in that, just now.

At this point, it looked very much like it might be necessary to physically restrain Sora. Roxas didn't much like the idea, but he felt he could deal with Sora's indignation over it better than he could deal with Sora possibly getting hurt. With that in mind, while Sora was distracted with Aqua, Roxas took a hold of his other arm.

"Sora, I think that's enough," he said firmly. His intent was to maybe bring Sora to his room, but he was reasonably certain it wasn't going to go smoothly.

Jeez, where was Riku when he was needed? He probably wouldn't even have needed any help to catch Sora.
