New worlds need exploring [Semi-closed]

Characters: Sora and Terra starting out; may be more later
Content: Exploring the SOL and Keyblader talk
Location: Starting on Deck 5, heading down
Time of day: Afternoon, mid-week
Warnings: Nothing so far

With a little bit of time to himself now, Sora decided he would check out a few more of the Satellite's decks...this place seemed a lot bigger than you would think. He had not yet much explored the lower decks of the Satellite, as he'd been plenty occupied participating in the experiment and meeting new friends. ...Of course, somehow many of them were giving him a sense of strange deja vu. He had not expected a sort of time difference between himself and anyone else he knew showing up here...sometimes as big as years! He couldn't help but wonder...what if Kairi or Donald or Goofy showed up, but they were ten years into their future?

For now, knowing that there wasn't much he could do about it without the Keyblade, exploring was enough. Maybe there was something on the ship that could help everyone out.

He started heading down to the place where he'd first ended up...the recreation deck, which was full of a lot of gym and training equipment, including a pool. But once there, he headed towards the stairs to the sixth deck, curious as to what -or who- he'd find.

Sitting around and doing nothing wasn't really Terra's style. Recent events made him even more inclined towards activity since if he stayed still for too long he'd start to think about the things he'd done and what had happened to himself and his friends. He didn't want to linger on that, so Terra had started exploring the satellite and had found the Recreation deck. Finally, a place where he wouldn't feel like he was lost and out of place.

Terra wandered the different areas, keeping in mind the weight lifting area and other equipment that looked interesting. He was passing a doorway when he saw someone else in the hall and took a step back to see Sora heading for the stairwell. "Sora," Terra called out without thinking. He had wanted to meet up with the younger Keyblader at some point, might as well do it now. "Where are you off to?"

[identity profile] eroded-earth.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"Sure," Terra said with a soft smile. He'd wanted to explore the satellite more anyway. Who better to explore it with than with Sora? He walked out into the hallway and started heading for the stairs, "I haven't seen much of it either myself. Just the deck with Tom Servos and the cafeteria." Well, and the deck with housing but that went without saying.

"I wonder what else is on this ship?"

Terra nodded, "Minako was stuck down on that deck. I'm not sure how that deck came to be but I'd say we avoid it for now...wading through a bunch of them isn't very fun." It had been less fun for Minako since they seemed to be attracted to her, however Terra wasn't sure and he didn't want to exactly go there again if they could help it. Honestly it seemed pretty pointless anyway.

As they descended Terra had to wonder what else they would find. He stopped in the doorway and stared out at all the stuff with Sora. It was filled with all sorts of items of storage but Terra had to wonder what was IN storage. Some of the items were just piled on tables or hanging from rolling hangers. "Wow. You could build just about anything from this stuff down here. It must be for putting on shows or something."

Terra continued forward, eyes wandering around as he took everything in. He stopped when he passed a huge stack of a variety of board games. "Hmm...I wonder," Terra started scanning the titles. Some of the games sounded familiar while others were strange but at least sounded interesting like Battleship or Mousetrap. He turned back to Sora, "It looks like they have games down here too."

[identity profile] eroded-earth.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
"Dunno. Maybe we could ask around." Terra felt SOMEONE had to know how that happened. A deck like that wasn't built for that specific purpose was it?

Terra had thought about weapons as well, but they didn't seem to have a use for them. However, with a recreation deck and the props here...maybe he could work something out. He'd think about it more later however because at the moment he was trying to browse the games. "A game Aqua, Ven, and I used to play all the time. This is a different world though so they may not have it." Of course, it looked like some games were universal, like Checkers.

[identity profile] eroded-earth.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
Terra smiled as several fond memories came to mind. "Command Board. It's a pretty easy game to pick up. You have to collect so much GP to be declared the winner and to collect GP you have to place Command Cards on the squares that collect points and level up as you play." Terra had been pretty good at the game, although Aqua could beat him sometimes too and the Master ALWAYS beat them. Terra moved a few more games aside: Candyland, Operation, Hi-Ho Cherrio, Jumanji. "I don't see it...but there are a ton of games here...maybe we can look later."

He looked over his shoulder at the other boxes, "I kind of want to know what else is in here."

[identity profile] eroded-earth.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
He made a note to come back later and look some more through the games. If nothing else he'd find some stuff to occupy his time later. Plus, Sora had sounded interested in Command Board. It'd be fun to teach others how to play.

Terra raised an eyebrow at the costume. It looked, well, ridiculous. "Wow. Who would wear this thing," he flicked one of the ears before looking past Sora and at the other costumes. "There's a beaver costume too." He frowned as he pulled it off the rack, amazed that something like this existed.

[identity profile] eroded-earth.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
"Okay, bad example," Terra replied with a smirk. He still didn't see the purpose behind a llama costume. But, maybe if you ran out of costumes to wear a llama would seem pretty original. Terra wasn't planning on wearing it any time soon...or the beaver one for that matter.

He turned to look at the pink bunny costume. A small smile crossed his face before blooming into a full out laugh. "What sort of bet would that be, Sora?"

[identity profile] eroded-earth.livejournal.com 2011-09-14 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Terra thought about that for a moment, "It'd probably be better if it was the bet on a race. There's a race track upstairs...but if he won," Terra grinned and looked over at Sora. He took the bunny costume from him and held it up to Sora, "You'd be the one wearing it." Sora would look pretty hilarious in the pink rabbit suit.

"It sounds to me like you had this sort of thing going on a lot." Terra tossed the bunny suit back to Sora, "I could probably beat you both though."

A memory flashed in Terra's head of seeing the two boys running across the island. Yeah, they HAD been competing for a long time if they'd kept that up since they were five. Terra had never really had a relationship like that with Ven OR Aqua. Aqua had had different skills from him so most of the time they just worked together because they complimented each other so well. True, there was a sort of competition sometimes but more often than not it was cooperation...something to help improve the other's skills. Ven, well, Terra saw him as a younger brother and had taken it upon himself to show him the ropes around Land of Departure.

He was starting to get that same feeling with Sora. True, he knew nothing about the SoL, but Terra felt like it was his duty or something to train Sora and Riku while he had the chance to. He glanced over at the props again, realizing that even though he didn't have the keyblade he could still MAKE one. It was an idea and one he would have to explore later.

Terra smirked, "Great. We'll see how good you really are." He wasn't going to admit he wasn't that fast, that wouldn't be any fun. "You think Riku will want to race?"

[identity profile] eroded-earth.livejournal.com 2011-09-17 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
"If we run into him we can ask," Terra replied. He moved away from the costume rack and over to one of the crates filled with lumber and wood. He would need to find tools of course. If he was going to make one for himself he might need to make one for the others too. He held up a piece of wood, yeah, this might work.

He looked over to Sora, "Hm? Yeah that was the plan, wasn't it. I wonder what deck is next." Terra stood up and walked back over to Sora.

If there was one constant in all the worlds, it was that sooner or later, Aqua would find the local library, or at least the local equivalent of it. So really, it probably wasn't much of a surprise - at least to Terra - that not long after they entered the library, Aqua stepped out from behind one the shelves. Apparently she hadn't found much of interest down that one, though, given she didn't have a book in her arms.

It was likely equally unsurprising that as soon as she saw them, she left of her search to come over to where they were standing.

"Looking for something?"

[identity profile] eroded-earth.livejournal.com 2011-09-17 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh. I think I heard someone mention this deck," Terra replied. He was more interested in the last two decks, but books weren't a bad way to pass the time either. Although, based on the nature of this place he wasn't sure he'd find one he liked.

Terra was about to start browsing one of the shelves when a familiar voice caught his attention instead. He smiled, crossing his arms, "I guess I should have known you'd find your way here, huh." Terra looked over at Sora before returning his gaze to Aqua, "We were just looking around the satellite...trying to figure out where everything was. We just came from a deck with board games and costumes." He noticed Aqua's arms were bare and added, "Guessing you haven't found anything worth while?"

[identity profile] wavesinherheart.livejournal.com 2011-09-18 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course," Aqua answered with a smile. After all, there'd been any number of times she'd ended up in the library at home, even after she stopped being so reclusive. Spells didn't exactly create themselves, and sometimes a little bit of research was exactly the thing that was called for. "And no, nothing interesting yet."

Then again, she hadn't looked at all the shelves yet. Still, she offered a polite nod to Sora. The odd time displacement was odd, but she could deal with it for the time being. "Hey."

[identity profile] eroded-earth.livejournal.com 2011-09-19 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
Terra shrugged, "Too bad." He knew how much Aqua enjoyed a good book. Granted, he wasn't sure he could help her find one, their tastes were different when it came to that sort of thing.

There was a moment of awkward silence as Terra tried to figure out where to continue the conversation. He looked back to Aqua, "Hey have you explored much of the satellite yet? You can come with me and Sora if there's nothing interesting here." Terra glanced at Sora to see if he minded this. He didn't think he would, Sora didn't really seem like the type who would turn down more friends.

[identity profile] wavesinherheart.livejournal.com 2011-09-20 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
Not anything interesting! Of course there was something interesting here. Okay, so she hadn't found any books she wanted to read, but that didn't mean that the whole deck was uninteresting. Still, she didn't bring that fact up. She wasn't entirely happy about it, but she didn't need to tell Sora that.

"Lead the way, then."

[identity profile] eroded-earth.livejournal.com 2011-09-21 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
The next deck was more interesting to Terra than any library would be. The Nature Deck look like it was made to remind the person of the outdoors or something. There were tons of trees and a small place to farm. Terra wasn't positive but he was pretty sure he heard a splash of water as well. Maybe there was a pond or something on this deck.

He looked around in awe. Yeah, he might spend some time here if he started to go crazy from all the metal and spaceyness of the rest of the place. After he stood there for awhile bird song started to pick up and Terra looked up into the trees, "Wow, they even have animals in here."

[identity profile] wavesinherheart.livejournal.com 2011-09-22 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
Aqua was less interesting in actually reading with someone than she was in people simply reading at all. As long as the library (such as it was) actually saw use that was fine with her. But for now, the newest deck was of far more interest. It wasn't every day you found what seemed to be a park inside a spaceship.

(Or so she assumed. She hadn't actually seen a lot of 626's ship).

"It can't have come from nowhere. Someone had to plant it." And bring in the birds, for that matter.

[identity profile] eroded-earth.livejournal.com 2011-09-23 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, just because we can't access the world below the satellite now doesn't mean it was always that way. I imagine all this stuff is from down there. Maybe it's to remind Mike of home," Terra suggested. If HE was stuck on a satellite, which he was, HE would want a deck like this to remind him of home and to just bring a little bit of green up here wouldn't hurt.

Terra decided he wanted to explore this deck more and started walking forward. There were signs of other, larger, animals up here as well. He stopped and turned back, "You two coming?"

[identity profile] wavesinherheart.livejournal.com 2011-09-24 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, that made sense. Even when one was only separated from one's home it was hard to not end up homesick in some manner and if she hadn't been quite so busy keep everything in line she might have remembered that it had been a long time since she'd been home during her travels. Now, of course, matters had changed for the worse, but it was still nice to see a little bit of green to break the monotony.

"Of course," she answered as she followed Terra, although she did stop to take a look at a cluster of flowers at the roots of one of the trees. It wasn't quite the home she'd known but it would do just fine.

[identity profile] eroded-earth.livejournal.com 2011-09-27 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
Terra nodded. He could understand that homesickness too. He looked up at the trees as he walked. Unlike Sora, he didn't have the luxury of expecting to return home. His world was destroyed...tainted by the darkness that he had helped Xehanort unleash. There was a tightening in his chest, "Yeah...it's an ache that never quite goes away." He couldn't think of home without thinking of his Master, and he couldn't think of either without feeling unbearably lost.

He kept ahead of Aqua, knowing she'd probably be able to tell what he was thinking just by the look on his face. Instead, he focused on his surroundings now. It was good that he did, too, because out from one of the trees popped a Tom Servo clone from another deck...with antlers attached to its head. Terra had to stumble to a halt to keep from running over it.

[identity profile] wavesinherheart.livejournal.com 2011-09-27 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
As nice as the sight of nature had been, the sudden arrival of one of the Tom Servos wearing antlers ruined anything that might have been idyllic about the place. On second thought, she really shouldn't have been surprised about it, but it was still very much counter to everything else on the deck.

Which was about par for the course. No one had ever sad living here was going to be the easiest of tasks.

"I think we should," Aqua answered, eyeing the robot with something approximating confusion. On the bright side, deer shouldn't have been interested in paying any attention to the female form unless it was a female deer, but she didn't exactly trust to whatever logic was running through that electronic brain to hold forever. Better to leave now than regret it later.

[identity profile] eroded-earth.livejournal.com 2011-09-30 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
It was hard not to stare at the robot-deer. In fact, that's what Terra did for a minute before Sora's voice pulled him out of it. Terra had been to some strange lands before, but this satellite was really starting to take the cake as far as weird places went.

"Yeah," Terra replied, backing away from the Tom Servo deer, "I think we can explore more of the Satellite some other time." He chuckled a bit, but he really didn't want to see what the bot was planning to do if it saw Aqua and acted like it's counterparts had around Minako. Not that Aqua couldn't handle herself, he just didn't want to see it.

He looked over at his two companions, "Want to get something to eat instead or go hand out in the recreation area?"
