New worlds need exploring [Semi-closed]
Characters: Sora and Terra starting out; may be more later
Content: Exploring the SOL and Keyblader talk
Location: Starting on Deck 5, heading down
Time of day: Afternoon, mid-week
Warnings: Nothing so far
With a little bit of time to himself now, Sora decided he would check out a few more of the Satellite's decks...this place seemed a lot bigger than you would think. He had not yet much explored the lower decks of the Satellite, as he'd been plenty occupied participating in the experiment and meeting new friends. ...Of course, somehow many of them were giving him a sense of strange deja vu. He had not expected a sort of time difference between himself and anyone else he knew showing up here...sometimes as big as years! He couldn't help but wonder...what if Kairi or Donald or Goofy showed up, but they were ten years into their future?
For now, knowing that there wasn't much he could do about it without the Keyblade, exploring was enough. Maybe there was something on the ship that could help everyone out.
He started heading down to the place where he'd first ended up...the recreation deck, which was full of a lot of gym and training equipment, including a pool. But once there, he headed towards the stairs to the sixth deck, curious as to what -or who- he'd find.

Terra wandered the different areas, keeping in mind the weight lifting area and other equipment that looked interesting. He was passing a doorway when he saw someone else in the hall and took a step back to see Sora heading for the stairwell. "Sora," Terra called out without thinking. He had wanted to meet up with the younger Keyblader at some point, might as well do it now. "Where are you off to?"
no subject
"I was just gonna see what else was down here; I haven't gotten a chance to look at the lower decks yet," Sora replied. He also wanted to talk to Terra...he had a ton of questions for him, all about what he'd done with the Keyblade and what worlds he'd seen and how all this fit back in with Xehanort. It was a bit confusing, but maybe now he could figure out some more answers. "Want to come with?"
no subject
"I wonder what else is on this ship?"
no subject
"I dunno..." But he supposed they were about to find out.
They made it down to the next deck, which looked like...tons of storage boxes? There were also closets, lots of cardboard, construction paper, paint, plywood, costumes, and who knew what else...and that was just what he could see from the stairwell.
"Wooah! Look at all this stuff..."
no subject
As they descended Terra had to wonder what else they would find. He stopped in the doorway and stared out at all the stuff with Sora. It was filled with all sorts of items of storage but Terra had to wonder what was IN storage. Some of the items were just piled on tables or hanging from rolling hangers. "Wow. You could build just about anything from this stuff down here. It must be for putting on shows or something."
Terra continued forward, eyes wandering around as he took everything in. He stopped when he passed a huge stack of a variety of board games. "Hmm...I wonder," Terra started scanning the titles. Some of the games sounded familiar while others were strange but at least sounded interesting like Battleship or Mousetrap. He turned back to Sora, "It looks like they have games down here too."
no subject
"Yeah...that could probably be useful later!" Sora said as he followed Terra further onto the deck. If he couldn't summon his Keyblade here (which did bother him quite a bit), at least maybe he could make something similar so that he could keep practicing and not lose his fighting ability.
Sora peered at the huge stack of board games they stumbled across. Most of the titles he didn't recognize. While they had board games on the islands, they were pretty simple and few, and the kids usually got to the point where making up their own games was more fun. He did recognize one, though. "Oh, they have Checkers..."
He glanced back up to Terra. "What're you looking for?"
no subject
Terra had thought about weapons as well, but they didn't seem to have a use for them. However, with a recreation deck and the props here...maybe he could work something out. He'd think about it more later however because at the moment he was trying to browse the games. "A game Aqua, Ven, and I used to play all the time. This is a different world though so they may not have it." Of course, it looked like some games were universal, like Checkers.
no subject
Probably the only reason Sora hadn't been more concerned about the loss of his Keyblade was because there wasn't any Heartless or Nobodies here to be defeated. If they had to make people laugh in order to get off, well, he could certainly do that, too.
"What game?" Sora asked. He remembered Terra saying he grew up with Aqua and Ventus, and also that they had trained together...was a board game part of the training, or just for fun? "Maybe they do have it, they seem to have a lot of different stuff here."
no subject
He looked over his shoulder at the other boxes, "I kind of want to know what else is in here."
no subject
"I guess so," he said with a shrug. They left the board games for now, venturing further into the back of the deck. Here, the first thing Sora stumbled across was a rack of what looked like really outlandish costumes. He pulled off one, which looked furry and gray, with ears attached to it. "It looks like..." Sora raised an eyebrow in confusion at the furry mess. "...A llama costume?"
no subject
Terra raised an eyebrow at the costume. It looked, well, ridiculous. "Wow. Who would wear this thing," he flicked one of the ears before looking past Sora and at the other costumes. "There's a beaver costume too." He frowned as he pulled it off the rack, amazed that something like this existed.
no subject
He watched as Terra pulled out a beaver one, too, and Sora went digging through the pile for more. There was a bear costume, and Spanish courtesan one that looked entirely too small, and...a pink bunny? Here, Sora couldn't help laughing a bit at the ridiculousness of it. "There's a pink bunny one, too!"
Of course, part of that laugh was for something else, too. "I wonder if I could get Riku to wear this on a bet..."
no subject
He turned to look at the pink bunny costume. A small smile crossed his face before blooming into a full out laugh. "What sort of bet would that be, Sora?"
no subject
Of course, the problem with that was, Riku did usually win their races. Sora wasn't sure he'd be willing to risk the pink bunny suit himself.
no subject
"It sounds to me like you had this sort of thing going on a lot." Terra tossed the bunny suit back to Sora, "I could probably beat you both though."
no subject
"Yeah, Riku and I have been competing with each other since we were really little," Sora said. It was sort of strange looking back on it now, when they'd just admitted to each other their own insecurities and jealousies. But, it was hard to shake off years of habit, and maybe now that competition could be more friendly than it had recently.
Sora put the bunny suit back in with the rest of the costumes. And even though he had just admitted that he usually lost races, he just couldn't resist a good competition. "Ha, you're on!"
no subject
He was starting to get that same feeling with Sora. True, he knew nothing about the SoL, but Terra felt like it was his duty or something to train Sora and Riku while he had the chance to. He glanced over at the props again, realizing that even though he didn't have the keyblade he could still MAKE one. It was an idea and one he would have to explore later.
Terra smirked, "Great. We'll see how good you really are." He wasn't going to admit he wasn't that fast, that wouldn't be any fun. "You think Riku will want to race?"
no subject
As for Riku joining in their race... "Yeah, I think so!" Sora said. Really, when was Riku going to turn down a race against him, even if they were stuck on this spaceship?
He looked further back down the deck, where it seemed there was even more stuff, although also mostly those mysterious boxes. "Think we should keep looking down here, or try another deck?"
no subject
He looked over to Sora, "Hm? Yeah that was the plan, wasn't it. I wonder what deck is next." Terra stood up and walked back over to Sora.
no subject
"I dunno..." he replied. Once Terra rejoined him, he walked back over toward the stairs.
They headed down the stairs once again, and Sora peered through the hall doorway. Inside, this place looked more like a library...there were shelves full of books and comics, smaller shelves full of what looked like music, couches to read on, and TV screens mounted on the walls.
"Looks like a library for books and music and stuff!"
no subject
It was likely equally unsurprising that as soon as she saw them, she left of her search to come over to where they were standing.
"Looking for something?"
no subject
Terra was about to start browsing one of the shelves when a familiar voice caught his attention instead. He smiled, crossing his arms, "I guess I should have known you'd find your way here, huh." Terra looked over at Sora before returning his gaze to Aqua, "We were just looking around the satellite...trying to figure out where everything was. We just came from a deck with board games and costumes." He noticed Aqua's arms were bare and added, "Guessing you haven't found anything worth while?"
no subject
They were greeted on this deck by a young woman with blue hair...Sora remembered her from the network as Aqua, Terra's friend. He also remembered her being a bit troubled while talking to him...but then again, he'd been experiencing some similar things with others he met here. He smiled, and waved to her as they approached. "Hey there!"
no subject
Then again, she hadn't looked at all the shelves yet. Still, she offered a polite nod to Sora. The odd time displacement was odd, but she could deal with it for the time being. "Hey."
no subject
There was a moment of awkward silence as Terra tried to figure out where to continue the conversation. He looked back to Aqua, "Hey have you explored much of the satellite yet? You can come with me and Sora if there's nothing interesting here." Terra glanced at Sora to see if he minded this. He didn't think he would, Sora didn't really seem like the type who would turn down more friends.
no subject
"Too bad there's not much interesting on this floor..." Sora sighed. It would probably require a more thorough investigation, and as it looked, they'd likely have the time for that.
He folded his hands behind his head. Sora was definitely not the type to turn down new friends, especially if they had stories of being Keybearers themselves. "Sure, we can keep looking around here!"
no subject
"Lead the way, then."
no subject
He looked around in awe. Yeah, he might spend some time here if he started to go crazy from all the metal and spaceyness of the rest of the place. After he stood there for awhile bird song started to pick up and Terra looked up into the trees, "Wow, they even have animals in here."
no subject
"Woooah, weird..." Sora gazed up at the trees and plants on this deck in wonder. It was definitely no Deep Jungle or Pride Lands, but considering the fact that this was supposed to be on a space station, it was pretty unusual.
He heard the birdsong as well. "How do you think all this stuff ended up here? Did those robots really grow it all?"
no subject
(Or so she assumed. She hadn't actually seen a lot of 626's ship).
"It can't have come from nowhere. Someone had to plant it." And bring in the birds, for that matter.
no subject
Terra decided he wanted to explore this deck more and started walking forward. There were signs of other, larger, animals up here as well. He stopped and turned back, "You two coming?"
no subject
But his momentary melancholy was chased off by the prospect of exploring more of this indoor forest. "Yeah!" Sora trailed along after him. He wondered if any of the animals around here talked, or if they were just normal animals. The ground beneath their feet didn't feel quite like real earth...it was obvious that there was a metal floor somewhere underneath them. But still, it was apparently enough even for trees to grow.
no subject
"Of course," she answered as she followed Terra, although she did stop to take a look at a cluster of flowers at the roots of one of the trees. It wasn't quite the home she'd known but it would do just fine.
no subject
He kept ahead of Aqua, knowing she'd probably be able to tell what he was thinking just by the look on his face. Instead, he focused on his surroundings now. It was good that he did, too, because out from one of the trees popped a Tom Servo clone from another deck...with antlers attached to its head. Terra had to stumble to a halt to keep from running over it.
no subject
Sora was about to venture a question (although how he'd really ask about this he wasn't sure,) when they were suddenly interrupted by the appearance of Tom Servo...or at least one of those other hundreds of Tom Servos. The Tom Servo spotted them and hopped forward...as much as a hovering robot could hop, anyway. "Look! I'm a deer!" The Servo said. "Chirrup, chirrup, bleat, bleat! DEER!"
"Maaaaybe...we should check back on this deck later," Sora suggested. He wasn't sure how well they'd be able to explore with a confused robot traipsing around them. Plus it was just kinda weird. Well...weird-er than everything else at the moment.
no subject
Which was about par for the course. No one had ever sad living here was going to be the easiest of tasks.
"I think we should," Aqua answered, eyeing the robot with something approximating confusion. On the bright side, deer shouldn't have been interested in paying any attention to the female form unless it was a female deer, but she didn't exactly trust to whatever logic was running through that electronic brain to hold forever. Better to leave now than regret it later.
no subject
"Yeah," Terra replied, backing away from the Tom Servo deer, "I think we can explore more of the Satellite some other time." He chuckled a bit, but he really didn't want to see what the bot was planning to do if it saw Aqua and acted like it's counterparts had around Minako. Not that Aqua couldn't handle herself, he just didn't want to see it.
He looked over at his two companions, "Want to get something to eat instead or go hand out in the recreation area?"
no subject
"Sure." Sadly, he supposed they would have plenty of time to explore, if they weren't getting off until they made everyone laugh enough. Sometimes people could be really stubborn about laughing! Like Riku, sometimes.
Sora nodded. He was good with either food or the gym stuff right now. "If Riku's up there, we can try that race now!" Sora said. "Or see if that machine can make sea-salt ice cream..." A thought occurred to him, and he looked up at Terra and Aqua. Did they even have that ten years ago? "Have you guys ever tried it?"
