Roxas' plan was all well and good, but it was interrupted by the appearance of a doppelganger - specifically, Ven, charging in from the side since Roxas was concentrating solely on Sora, firing in rapid succession. Basically he was just holding the trigger down and running straight at him. Sora couldn't lose this one! With him and Aqua and Terra on their team, they couldn't lose!

But Ven wasn't stupid and knew the advantages of cover himself, and he did a baseball slide into the back of a weight rack, hitting it with his shoulder but absolutely not caring as he stuck the end of his gun through the opening between weight levels and continued firing merrily away.
