If he'd pushed it, Ven could have caught Roxas and overtaken him - but he didn't, mostly because he wanted to stop Sora racking up such a high Death score. A quick (literally five-second) strategy session was in order, and Ven chucked his gun into one elbow and grabbed their New Secret Weapon before tearing off after him.
He was close enough on Roxas' heels to hear when the doors slammed, seeing as metal wasn't exactly quiet, and he kept count. When they got to the last one, Ven flattened himself against the wall next to it, raising a finger to his lips as he looked at Sora. The less notice Roxas had, the better. Putting that hand down, he held out three fingers, then slowly counted down to zero.
...And at zero, the door burst open and Ven literally threw his New3 Secret Weapon through the door - as big a bunch of gym towels as he could possibly carry, trying to mask the door and distract Roxas. Keeping flat to the wall behind his and Sora's towel flurry, dodge rolling to behind an armoire and firing as quickly as he could. Whether he hit or not would depend on how well Roxas was concealed, but distractions were always nice.
