Riku watched as the two made their way up with ease. Perry was quite the nimble little platypus. Riku hadn't thought they could climb trees, but this one certainly could. He was less surprised by the fact Amaterasu could get into the tree and more surprised by how she got up there. Still, she turned day into night, something more powerful than any Heartless or Nobody he'd ever seen. Why should he be surprised by a flower and vine?

Seeing a platypus smirk was interesting and fun. Seeing a wolf smirk was cool. But he had a smirk of his own.

Riku could climb trees well and jump high for a human before he'd even left the Islands. It came as part of being a competitive teenage boy with a rival and someone to try to get the attention of. A Keyblade, however, enhanced anyone's natural abilities. Riku closed his eyes, wishing he had his blindfold, still. He sprang up from the ground, leaping many times higher than he ever should have been able to. He caught hold of a branch, swung around until he could land his feet on it and leapt again. Riku burst from the treetop in a small explosion of gingko leaves and landed, gracefully perching himself before opening his eyes.

It was his turn to smirk back.
