Tea Time

Characters: Chibi and Ienzo
Content: TEA.
Location: Cafeteria
Time of Day: Afternoon
Warnings: None

Chibi isn't necessarily sure about the whole tea thing; he doesn't have hands, it seems like it'll be a lot harder for him to manage than it might be for Ienzo. It'll be nice to have another constant, though, now that they seem to be moving around.

He could, at least, help set up the table; he wasn't as good at carrying things as Pinkie Pie, but he thought he was doing pretty well. So far he'd managed the dishes. Food would be trickier, given the weight.

It might prove a little awkward, yes. But it wouldn't have been the first time he'd had to make adjustments more or less on the fly. Besides, any awkwardness was a small price to pay for something that was both familiar and comforting.

Perhaps next time he'll have to see if Aeleus would like to join them.

"Is there anything you need help with?"

Something totally different indeed, and Ienzo could certainly understand how people might be less than perfectly willing to let Chibi bring their food to them. Thankfully, the problem was one that was easy enough to solve.

"I believe I should be able to manage that, if you could manage the tea itself?"

Ienzo's certain that there are ways to make small-handled teapots more manageable. He's never made much of an attempt to use them, mind, but he's certain that there is at least something to make them more worthwhile than they might seem. Either way, the point is moot just at the moment, and Ienzo turns his attention to the food in question. Having actual hands will make it much easier to deal with in the long run.

Ienzo would have no problem with inviting more people. It would take a significantly more preparation, but that wasn't something that was or should be so insurmountable as to keep anyone from enjoying tea. It would simply require time, nothing more.

It isn't long before Ienzo returns with the food. It's nothing particularly fancy, but it'll serve the purpose at hand and that will have to be enough.

They certainly could call people. Ienzo hadn't particularly expected to have others, but that certainly didn't mean they couldn't arrange to have more company.

"Would you like more people?"

It would certainly make things more interesting, that much is certain. The question of whether or not to do it now, on the hand, takes a longer moment of consideration.

"Perhaps next time. It would be more polite to give them more time to decide."
wefallinsilence: (then let us come to words and words)

(I don't know where it's going but it's great)

Ienzo is most certainly ready to start and he wastes no further time in serving the tea and food. It is, perhaps, a little awkward to expect Chibi to use the same manner of dishes as he would, but Ienzo hopes that the table is low enough to be convenient and that the cup he's chosen is similarly convenient to the fact that Chibi hardly has hands with which to hold it.

(Another reason to not have others over just yet. If things go horribly wrong he'd like to only have one other individual present to see it.)

It's as polite as they can manage under the circumstances and that will have to suffice. There's no sense in asking for more, and Ienzo has always been willing to take care of matters such as this when he needs to. It's only polite, and there's little way that Chibi will be able to manage the task.

Fortunately, it doesn't take long before everything is properly served. Though they may be alone there's little to say they can't enjoy the moment as it stands.

Fortunately, Ienzo is willing to offer a certain amount of leeway for the lack of hands. Not to say that the attempt at politeness isn't appreciated, of course. It's merely that Ienzo is well aware of the folly that would be present in trying to hold Chibi to the same standards as a more human guest.

He doesn't offer polite conversation. Not at first anyway. He isn't certain what would even be appropriate under the circumstances. Would it be best to keep to yes or no questions? He certainly wouldn't want to make drawing answers interrupt the overall process, after all.

[personal profile] wefallinsilence 2013-01-10 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
Who should they invite? Ienzo can think of one candidate off the top of his head, but after that, things get a little less well-defined.

"Aeleus, at the very least. Beyond that, I suppose we could see who wanted to come?"
wefallinsilence: (let us think then and wonder)

[personal profile] wefallinsilence 2013-01-12 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
Chibi's suggestion isn't surprising in this least. It might make things a little bit more difficult, but that certainly isn't any good reason to not include someone.

"Do you think we ought to have a limit on how many people can show up?"
wefallinsilence: (let us think then and wonder)

[personal profile] wefallinsilence 2013-01-14 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a valid point, for all that Ienzo isn't aware of the full extent of the agreement. Still, he knows Pinkie Pie about as well as one could reasonably expect under the circumstances and there's no sense in turning everything into a party.

"How many would you prefer?"
wefallinsilence: (greetings and salutations)

[personal profile] wefallinsilence 2013-01-16 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
Ienzo nods at the number. It's a manageable number, and one that it won't be any sort of trouble to cook for.

"We may need to have more than one meeting, but I'm sure that's not much of an inconvenience."

More than one it was, then. After all, Ienzo certainly couldn't find it in him to say no to Chibi. Not as he was, at any rate, though he had no doubt that someone else he'd once been might have been perfectly willing to, given a decent enough reason. But that life is past, and so there's no great reason to do so.

"I'll let people know once we're done here, then."

[personal profile] wefallinsilence 2013-01-20 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
Ienzo didn't feel particularly obligated to feed him, precisely. Though the food might not have been easy to serve without hands, that didn't mean it couldn't be eaten without hands, or so Ienzo hoped.

"Is there anything you'd like?"

Then tea it was. It would have been rude to eat without Chibi also doing so, and he was quite certain he'd be able to find something to do with it. For now, tea was sufficient and there was certainly nothing else that needed to be said
