Command Board!
Characters: Sora, Terra and Aqua
Content: A little board game...
Location: On the theatrical deck
Time of day: Afternoon
Warnings: WHO WILL GET JOKER CARDS?!
The sudden appearance of all the blankets, pillows and sheets around the SOL reminded Sora of the blanket forts he used to make with Riku and Kairi when he was really little...and he was not so proud as to not see the fun in making one of these forts again. Heck, there was more than enough material to make forts out of most of the Satellite, it seemed like.
And then, Terra and Aqua had mentioned that they'd found a copy of a game they used to play together. Since Terra had mentioned that earlier during their exploration, Sora had been interested in trying to play it himself, and was more than happy to accept their invitation to play.
So now the whole game board was set out on one of the comforters before him. Sora studied the game board, along with the three dice they had to play with, and a stack of cards with commands listed on them...some of them he recognized as spells or moves he used, but some of them were new. It also looked like they had a bunch of munny that counted as points. This couldn't be too hard to pick up on, right?

Terra sat back, away from the board, "Trust me, it's easier to learn as you play. Now we'll roll to see who goes first." Terra picked up the dice and rolled. His smile fell a bit when he got a mere two. Well, he could always hope Aqua and Sora rolled ones. He passed the dice to Aqua.

That said, she rolled the dice. As luck would have it, the dice were kinder to her than they'd been to Terra, coming up five. Not too bad, if she said so herself, and she handed the dice to Sora.

Sora rolled the dice for turn order, hoping for a six...buuuut ended up with a four. He sighed...at least he wasn't going last.
GAME START!
She was, however, perfectly able to afford laying one her panels. Not surprisingly, she did so, laying a Blizzaga panel down where her piece was. Not very impressive, but it was only the first turn.
"Your turn, Sora."

Sora was excited to start the game, and rolled the dice...only to get a one. That wasn't much of a great start. Regardless, he moved his piece up one on the board, which was a blank square. As if in response to that first roll, he laid down a Slow panel.
"You're next, Terra."

Well, he might have been last but at least he got to move pretty far. He decided to head up the board, going for the prize cube and rolling it over three times as he moved his piece over it. Terra then handed the dice back over to Aqua.

"That's the way," she commented, before turning the die over to Sora.

Sora gave a fistpump at finally getting something good. "Yeah!"

As luck would have it, it didn't matter too much anyway. Or at least, not in the long run, as a mere handful of turns later she managed a decent enough roll, but landed on one of the panels that Terra had picked up in the meantime. And even if 48 GP was less than the GP he'd had to give her it was still something.

Sora frowned a little as he continued on...he wasn't rolling very well at all. However, at least one of his rolls landed him on a bonus square, and the free card he pulled up was labeled 'Ragnarok.' "Huh...that's a move I used to use!" he remarked. He'd sort of forgotten how to use Ragnarok in between his first journey and his second, though. Still, maybe this meant his luck would go up in the next few rolls...

A few turns later and he was on the red check point as well, grinning to himself as he realized he also had more GP than either Sora or Aqua. At least he could still do something right...even if playing a board game wasn't all that impressive of an accomplishment.

While the next few turns didn't manage to see her noticeably pulling ahead of Terra, Aqua did manage to pull a panel capture off a recently acquired joker card, before landing at last on the yellow checkpoint. It was only a shame that she had to pay Sora twice before finally landing there.

Worst of all, he seemed to keep landing on their panels and having to pay them out munny for it. On his latest turn around the small loop area with the green checkpoint, he at least managed to land inbetween Aqua and Terra's panels and claim one for himself, with a magnet card. He studied the cards in his hand...he still wasn't sure what they all did. "How do you know which cards do which things?" he asked, not wanting to show too much that he was annoyed at losing.

Terra then took his own turn, rolling a two and having to fork over some GP to Sora. It wasn't a great move, but a few moves later he was able to land on his own panels and level them up, which was nice, not to mention he was making some pretty high rolls as well. It was only as he was leveling one of them up that he realized Aqua was DANGEROUSLY close to having the required amount of GP.

And then Sora happened to land on one of her panels. The payment for it wasn't much, but it was enough to bring her GP up above the threshold and a decently lucky roll immediately following that managed to get her to the start panel and a somewhat bittersweet victory. Still it was a victory, and she supposed she ought to be happy for that.

"Aww..." Sora sighed as Aqua crossed the finish line with the right amount of GP to win. He was nowhere close to winning...if anything he'd come in last. And while Sora wanted to put on a 'good sport' face, it was obvious that he really didn't like losing.
