Ebenezer McCoy had been the same way, demanding and pushing to teach his wayward pupil that magic was not some end goal, but the journey of life itself, something that kept growing and changing with you until the day you left the world, and even beyond. It was a part of who a wizard was, and like his body, if he ignored it too long it would just decay away.

Still, he had also taught Harry that understanding magic was understanding life, and you couldn't understand life without living.

Pleased he'd gotten a smile out of the serious young woman, Harry just shrugged. "Well, you still haven't seen Star Wars."
