Mission 2

Character(s): Xion and all who care to join her
Content: Sea Salt Ice Cream and whale observation
Setting: Cafeteria
Time of Day: Afternoon
Warnings: Shy character~ Feel free to say "hi," though.

There'd been so much going on lately that Xion had barely had time to think. First there had been participating in the experiment. Then all the strange things happening--it had been like living in Halloweentown. She couldn't be scared, but some of them had surprised her. Turning invisible had been what made her decide to just stay in her room until it was over.

Taking a sea-salt ice cream bar from the food synthesizer, she briefly wondered what Axel and Roxas would have thought of the whole thing. She tried not to think of them too often, because they weren't here. Sometimes she couldn't help herself, though.

Sitting on one of the tables, watching the whales float by, she closed her eyes and tried to imagine herself back on the clock tower with her two best friends.

She wondered if this was what missing someone was like.

MakubeX had been completely fascinated by the whales outside. He'd never had the chance to see anything like them in person. They were absolutely beautiful. He'd been hopping from deck to deck, trying to find the best view, finally ending up in the cafeteria.

He hadn't quite expected anyone to be there at the time.

"Ah, hello. Sorry for barging in."

[identity profile] virtualunknown.livejournal.com 2011-11-05 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
"Sorry. Didn't mean to startle you."

MakubeX gave the stranger a smile. "Not a bad view here, is it?"

[identity profile] virtualunknown.livejournal.com 2011-11-05 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
"Mind if I join you?" he asked. This had been the quietest spot he'd found so far, but he didn't want to impose, either.

"Thank you," he said, hopping up onto the table. He glanced over and noticed the ice cream.

"Oh, I didn't know the synthesizer was capable of that. What flavor is it?"

[identity profile] virtualunknown.livejournal.com 2011-11-07 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
"Sure. I've never heard of that before."

[identity profile] virtualunknown.livejournal.com 2011-11-08 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Thank you." MakubeX took the ice cream from her, looking it over before tasting it.

"Oh! That's... different." He'd never had anything quite like it before. It was unusual. He looked it over again, then took another taste. "It's good, though."

[identity profile] virtualunknown.livejournal.com 2011-11-08 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
"That's exactly right. Not exactly a combination one would think of." MakubeX paused, watching a whale pass by.

"You know, we'll have to remedy the fact that you haven't tried any others. Fortunately, we've got nothing but time here." He paused again and shrugged. "Or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it."

[identity profile] virtualunknown.livejournal.com 2011-11-10 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
"There's many, many more. It would take some time to think of them all, especially since you can make combinations and things like that. My personal favorites, though, are chocolate and strawberry. Not mixed together, mind you. Although that would be good, too, I would think..." He trailed off, realizing he was rambling at this point.

"Ah, forgive me. I'm terrible at that. Call me MakubeX." He nodded in return and offered his hand.

[identity profile] virtualunknown.livejournal.com 2011-11-11 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, yes. It depends on how you're serving it, though. I've heard of machines that can swirl softer kinds together." He looked over at the food synthesizer, wondering if it could produce such a thing.

MakubeX nodded. "Likewise."

[identity profile] virtualunknown.livejournal.com 2011-11-12 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll have to take a look. It's got to be simpler than that." He looked over the device once more, taking note of the controls. He'd have to tinker with it later.

"A couple of weeks, I think. It's difficult to keep track of time here. What about you?"

[identity profile] virtualunknown.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
"I am. I generally work with computers, but it can't be that different." MakubeX was already running possibilities in his mind. It would be easier if he had a computer to work with, but he could make due.

At the question, MakubeX's face fell slightly. He kept a tiny smile, though, and shook his head. "No, I haven't seen anyone I know yet."

[identity profile] virtualunknown.livejournal.com 2011-11-15 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
"That all depends on what you want to do with them. I can teach you, if I ever find one here." Of course, he had other reasons to want to find a computer. Which he knew meant, of course, that he wouldn't be likely to find one. This place seemed difficult in those regards.

MakubeX's smile returned when she lowered the hood. He nodded, offering his hand again. "I would like that very much."

[identity profile] virtualunknown.livejournal.com 2011-11-16 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
MakubeX chuckled. "Good thing, hm?"

However, he could tell that something was off. He couldn't quite place it though, since he hadn't known her for that long. He tilted his head to the side and asked, "What's wrong?"

[identity profile] virtualunknown.livejournal.com 2011-11-16 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring up anything unpleasant," MakubeX said, frowning slightly. "Do you want to talk about it?"

[identity profile] virtualunknown.livejournal.com 2011-11-17 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
MakubeX nodded. "You're homesick. I admit, I am as well." He shrugged and waved his stick, having finished his ice cream. "I wouldn't mind joining you for ice cream while we're both stuck here. Although I'm not sure if it would help or make you miss them even more..."

[identity profile] virtualunknown.livejournal.com 2011-11-17 01:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's what it sounds like to me. It's a common feeling when one's so far away from home. I've never been away from my home before, so it's a strange feeling being the one who's left for once..." He trailed off and shook his head.

"That would be nice. Feel free to let me know whenever you'd like to do that." He then told her which room he was staying at, just in case they didn't feel like announcing anything over the network.

[identity profile] virtualunknown.livejournal.com 2011-11-17 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"It is, but at least it proves..." He shook his head, not really wanting to go into that thought.

"I certainly will."

[identity profile] virtualunknown.livejournal.com 2011-11-18 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Hopefully sooner rather than later," he replied, grinning, "But yes, certainly."
