Rockin' Around The Charlie Brown Christmas Tree [OPEN]

Content: Get your Christmas Party on!
Location: The Weapons Deck
Time of day: Evening of Christmas Day, after people have gotten presents
Warnings: None...for now...

[Since the Weapons Deck is totally empty, Mike and the Bots have taken it upon themselves to transform it for a rockin’ good Christmas Party! The Charlie Brown Tree has been safely set aside too; all decorated up. There’s a table with punch, food and way too many desserts for any group of people to handle, a bunch of Christmas decorations thanks to Rarity and her decorating crew, and even Christmas music that’s only slightly annoying!

Characters are free to come in and grab food, mingle, play games, exchange gifts or stories...whatever they want! Obviously, treat this thread as party-style.

There’s one more special note...there’s a couple bowls of punch sitting next to a big pan of Green Bean Casserole of Tranquility. Unfortunately, Crow accidentally mixed in some leftover Waters of Forgetfulness to make the punch. That water, combined with the spicy punch flavoring, has created an unusual concoction. If your characters drink some of this punch, they won’t notice anything wrong...at least yet!]

"You're welcome." Namine hadn't known he liked it, but if he does, so much the better. She'd only just tried it a couple of months ago at her first party on the ship.

She'd say she was sorry later, when the conditions were better for more serious conversation. For now, she simply gestures toward the others. "They look like they're having fun, don't they?"

"I'm okay with getting up early. Want to meet for breakfast and then start out? Like around 8:00?" Xion was used to getting up early, too, for most of the same reasons as Roxas. Being on the satellite hadn't really changed her habits.

Xion would definitely warn him about whatever required warning. There was fun stuff, too, that she could show him--like the nature deck.

"Really? How?" Xion's interest was piqued. "I wonder if I could learn some of the other types..."

"Sure, that'll work."

Roxas would likely end up appreciating the decision to go with someone rather than exploring alone, for a number of reason, but the only reason he was really thinking of at the moment was that it was just more fun than going alone.

"Sure, that's fine!" Sora trusted his things with Namine enough...after all, he'd trusted her enough to restore his memories for the year he'd been asleep.

Sora felt himself getting happier by the minute, for reasons he couldn't seem to explain. Everything about it was exciting! "So have you tried the punch yet? Or cookies! Or there's brownies, too!"

"Sometime I'd love to hear how you made it here in a vacuum. But I know you got stuff to do right now." Riku made sure to leave Maes a way out so he didn't have to respond to that little jab.

He gave the man an inquisitive look, honestly not having expected a thing. Accepting the package, he leaned back against a table and unwrapped it. The moment he peered into the box, a smile spread over his face and he chuckled. "Thanks," he said with an appreciative nod. "Haven't played this for a long time." He pulled out a dart, looking at it with a bit of a nostalgic look.

"Too bad I can't really cook. I'd've at least made you cookies."

"Is this the next step up from tossing something in the air and trying to catch it in your mouth?" Some portion of this sounded like it could end in catastrophe.

Riku raised his brows and shrugged. "Well, someone snuck into my room, anyway." A smirk slowly appeared and he held up the red sword. "Catch." With that he gave it a bit of a toss, adding enough of a spin that Sora could catch it by the hilt. Not that it mattered with soft weapons, but it was force of habit with all they'd been through.

"It's Santa! He doesn't sneak into rooms, you know," Sora insisted. Well, in a way he did, but Sora was determined to find that as totally different. Santa practically had a free pass for any house, just by virtue of being Santa.

Sora just barely caught the foam sword tossed at him, mostly because he hadn't been expecting it right off the bat. But still, he caught it well enough! Still not as good as having a real Keyblade, but it was fine in its own right.

It was amazing how quickly Rarity could put together a saddlebag for herself - in festive colors, even - and small gifts for everyone, but then again, she did have experience in this sort of thing. It didn't take her long to catch sight of two of the people - well, rather, one of the people and the platypus - for whom she had gifts. "Oh, there you are!" she greeted them cheerily, trotting up to them with a smile. "Happy Hearth's Warming Eve, and merry Christmas! Now, I do have something for you..." She fished a green bow tie out of her bag and handed it to him. "There. That color should suit you perfectly, and it's festive as well.

"And as for you, Perry," After a moment of fishing, Rarity pulled a platypus-sized top hat out of her bag and placed it expertly on his head, moving the bow to his tail instead. "There! Now doesn't he look dapper? In fact, I'm thinking of making an entire line of these - a hatapus line, if you will. He does look rather fetching in a hat, don't you think?" Rarity didn't normally believe in fashion with an ulterior motive, but if she made her intentions for a hatapus line public enough, anyone who saw Perry in his fedora would simply think she'd made it. Effectively, she planned on giving him a cover story for the holiday.

"I'll pick them up tomorrow, then?"

Sora's happiness was a bit catching, and Namine found herself matching his grin with one of her own. "I've tried the cookies and brownies, but not the punch."

"Okay, I'll see you then."

It would definitely be more fun than going alone. Xion wished she'd had someone to help her when she first got here--the way Roxas had in the Organization. Getting to help him now is nice, though.

"Sure, that's fine!"

He took another drink from his own cup. "You should, it's really good!" The happiness was catching on even more and more...perhaps beyond even Sora's usual cheerfulness. As if to prove this point, he let out a quick burst of laughter.

"Okay. I'll let you know on Cambot before I come by."

Namine held up her cup of root beer to show why she hadn't tried the punch yet. "Maybe later."

Sora's laugh surprised her--she didn't think anything they'd said was that funny. Now that she thought about it, he was being more cheerful than usual. The fact that it was Christmas might explain some of that, but..."Sora, are you feeling okay?"

Maes wasn't thrown off by Riku's sarcastic questioning either. He just grinned and replied, patting Riku on the shoulder (perhaps hitting him a little harder than he should have but it was his own revenge for Riku's line of questioning), "Magic of course. But that's not important, now, is it?"

He had figured the gift would go over well. Riku seemed the type to enjoy a game like that: easy to set up, play, and with a slight competitive streak to the game inherent in its design.

"That's all right. There's PLEN~TY of cookies here at the party and Ms. Claus won't be too happy if I put on too much weight. HO Ho ho."

Kaldur took the punch gratefully. He paused for a moment before holding out the cup to Sora, "A toast to future Christmases with our friends then and to making new friends with the coming year, how about it?"

"Cool, thanks!" Phineas put the tie on right away.

He watched Rarity decorating Perry as it were and grinned as soon as she was done. "Yeah, you look great, Perry! I think the hatapi are an awesome idea. I bet any kind of hat could work platypus sized! Berets, deerstalkers, pith helmets... The possibilities are endless!"

"That's good," Terra replied. He reached over and started fixing himself a cup of punch, using the ladle to pour it from the bowl into the glass. He didn't want this to remain awkward, but Terra wasn't sure what he could say to Roxas to make this moment let so.

Terra took a drink, "I was hoping we could try to get on a better foot. I know I wasn't exactly the best at introducing you to this place."

"Yep! But instead of tossing it, we propel it at a 50 degree angle while still maintaining the cohesion of the nacho elements."

"Oh, um... don't worry about that. It... isn't that big of a deal." And really wasn't. He had eventually gotten some help and he couldn't really fault Terra for the lack of help. Really, he still felt bad for having gotten his and Aqua's hopes up about seeing their friend.

Roxas refrained from commenting on the punch. He'd decided he wasn't going to have any himself, but that didn't mean he had to put a damper on anyone else enjoying it... even if his own reason for avoiding it was a paranoid safety concern...

"Mm?" was his initial reply to the question as he was in the middle of a sip of soda.

"Oh. Yeah, they do."

Indeed, if there was anything Sora could drink to, it was friends old and new. "I'll drink to that!" Sora said with a smile. He clinked his glass of punch against Kaldur's before taking a long drink.

Sora just shrugged at the root beer...oh well, soda sounded pretty good to him, too. All of it sounded just great!

"Sure, I feel super! Why wouldn't I? It's Christmas!" he said, trying to hide another laugh. This was just such a great holiday, with his friends here and this food and atmosphere...he just wanted to do something with everyone!

"I'm sure we could learn others. There's bound to be instructional materials around here someplace. Or others might know. I'll look into it. As for slow songs y-..."

Naturally, the song changed to a something slower.

"...well, I suppose I can show you, if you'd like."

"If you're sure that's all it is..." Namine frowned thoughtfully. True, she mostly knew Sora through his memories, but he seemed a little off. Riku would probably know better than her, but she couldn't see him anywhere.
