KYAAAAA!

[Saria stumbles backwards in a panic, having just found an icky heap of worms in her bed.]

What...where--KYAA!

[As she fumbles against the wall in her terror and tired state, she happens to catch the bedroom door and falls backwards as it swings open, landing her unceremoniously on somebody with a crash.]

[Shepard was just coming back from spending another few hours exploring the station and heading back to her quarters when-Oof! She raised her hands up instinctively and looked down at what ran into her thigh.]

Whoa, hey!

[She had never seen the girl before, but she definitely looked scared. Shepard's hand lightly fell on the little girl's head and gave Saria a concerned frown, giving the closing door of what she thought might be the girl's room a curious glance before falling back on Saria.]

What's wrong?

[Shepard wasn't exactly experienced with handling children, (Though she supposed dealing with the Citadel Council could be considered related) but that didn't mean she couldn't try to be a little helpful. She turned her gaze back toward the door. A little curious what it was that could behind. It could be nothing but Saria's imagination, but then again it might be an actual threat.

Still a little confused how to convey sympathy for the kid, she lightly patted the girl's head and offered a reassuring small smile.

Want me to check it out for you?

[Well, she guesses that answers her question. She patted the top of the girl's head again and gave her a breif smile before looking back toward the door. Hobbling the best she could with a small child still on her leg, she shifted over to angel toward the door control pad. If there was something in the girl's quarters, at least they could easily step out of reach and view of whatever was inside.

Giving a small glance down at the girl once more, she thumbed the controlpad for the door to open.

[Huh. Guess it was all the kid's imagination. She looked down at Saria and noticed the girl pointed toward the bed. Of course. She sighed and once again hobbled over to the bed.]

What? did something managed to get in it or under it?

[Shepard pulls back the covers and-That's...kinda gross. Where the hell did these come from anyway? Space stations were for the most part sterile and you didn't exactly get this many maggots in one place. She lets the bedcover drop and looked down to find the little girl again. Finding Saria behind her, Shepard twists herself to get a better view and rests both hands on Saria's shoulders with a small, if confused smile.]

Well you can't sleep there, how about you just use my bed, alright?

I wouldn't have made the offer if I didn't mean it. [Shepard straightens herself out and guides Saria back out of room and toward her own quarters.]

Besides, what kind of person would I be to let a little girl be stuck without a place to sleep. What's your name anyway?
