Characters: Namine, Amaterasu, Zidane
Content: Ammy and Zidane find Nami on the Theatre Deck. Talk of art and other things ensues.
Time: Morning
Warnings: None.
Notes: None
With practically the whole satellite serving as a laser tag arena, Namine hadn’t had high hopes of the theatre deck being quiet. She was pleasantly surprised to find no one else there; maybe they were all sleeping in. Setting the supplies she’d brought with her on the table she’d claimed as “hers,” she set about gathering the other things she’d need.
Finally, with all her crayons, pastels, pencils, and paper set up, she could get to work. Before long, she was so caught up in it that she was only half-aware of her surroundings.

It didn't occur to her to wonder how a wolf could paint; she'd seen stranger things. Instead she turned in her chair to face Ammy. "Were you looking for something? Maybe I could help you find it."
Being the only person she knew of who was regularly down here for art supplies, she'd taken the liberty of organizing them according to her own system.

As for what she was looking for, she shrugged a bit...mostly she was looking for paper. She examined closer what she was working on, and what she was drawing with. Once she spotted it, she nudged a nearby stack of paper with her nose.
no subject
She divided the stack into two and gave half to Ammy. "Here you go. Can you carry it? Or maybe you'd like to paint here? We could work together if you want."
no subject
She held up her brush to show that she wanted to stay and paint. She rarely got to work with anyone else, just by virtue of being the only one who could paint reality. She was interested to see what she could do with Namine here.

When Ammy pulled out her paintbrush, Namine took the hint to bring out her own brush and paints. "You want to pain together? Okay."
Though it looked like it might be difficult for Ammy to reach the table. After a moment's thought, Nami went to find one of the dropcloths used to protect the floor from paint. Once it was spread out she moved the art supplies from the table. "Let's try putting the paper on this--that way we both can both reach it."

Once Namine put a drop cloth on the floor and moved the supplies down to the ground, she moved over to the paper to see what she should start on. Taking the brush in her mouth, she started sketching out the cherry trees that grew around Kamiki Village.

She watched as Ammy began to draw and the trees took shape. She hadn't seen any trees like those before; either that, or she wasn't used to Ammy's drawing style. Rather than just guessing which color to use, she lined all her paints up and gestured to them once Ammy was finished. "Can you tell me which color they're supposed to be?"
no subject
When asked, she scanned the colors and tapped the tube of pink paint with her paw. Green also worked, but the trees were so beautiful when they were in full bloom.

She picked up the bottle and squeezed out some paint. She hadn't been working with watercolors for long, so she hoped this turned out well. Once the paint was ready, she slowly began filling in the trees.

Namine continued to color her pictures with an interesting meticulousness. As she did, Ammy continued working on the picture...adding in the mountains in the background, and starting in on the stone roads and river that ran through Kamiki Village.
no subject
"Is that your home? You paint it like you know it well." She gestured back to the paints. "So what colors do we need for everything else?"
There were plenty of logical choices, but she thought it better to ask.
no subject
She gave a smile at the question, and just let that serve as her answer. She was still working on it, letting things go slowly so that Namine had time to fill them in. When asked for more colors, she pulled out a tube of blue paint for the river, a dark blue for the distant mountains, and a light brown for the roads.

She added the colors that had been indicated to her palette, and began painting the other areas of the picture. It was sometimes slow going, since she had to wait for the black ink of the outlines to dry first. Little by the little, though, they filled the paper.

As Namine filled in more that she'd drawn, she went on to add a few more buildings to the village...Kushi's sake mill, Susano's training ground, Mr. Orange's house and Mushi's turnip fields. That just about filled out the picture.

"Nobodies don't really have homes. We're just remnants--what's left behind after someone loses their heart. We were never meant to exist, so..."

Then, she gave a slight smile and scritched Ammy's ears. "Still, we can have places we want to go, and people we want to see. No use in giving up, right?" She sounded like she was reminding herself of this fact, but her smile became more genuine when her eyes fell on the picture. "I think I'd like to go there, someday."
no subject
She smiled a little when Namine gave her ear scritches. She definitely didn't want Namine to feel hopeless!
After a moment of thought, she took up her brush again, grabbed up more paint, and quickly sketched an image of Namine in the middle of the village, by the bridge. If Ammy ever got her powers back, she'd take Namine to see Kamiki Village.
no subject
She leaned into Ammy and kept up the scritches until the wolf started painting again. Namine smiled to see the latest addition to the picture.
"Well, at least I can visit it this way. Thank you."
She gets the paints to color herself in.

Before she could say something about that, she got an idea. Taking a clean sheet of paper, she used her pastels to create a drawing of the mansion in Twilight Town, with her and Ammy sitting in the front yard.
"There. Now you can visit me, too."
no subject
She watched as Namine quickly sketched out another picture...this one of what looked like a very nice, expensive house. Perhaps this was the closest thing Namine had to home. And once Namine added her there too, Ammy got the sense that was the case.
Ammy barked once, smiling and wagging her tail. It did look like a nice place to visit!

Ammy seemed approve of the picture, so Namine smiled, rolled it up, and set it on her back. "There. You can keep it." Picking up the other picture, she held it up to the wall. "What do you think of putting this here?"
no subject
She cocked her head at the other picture, and nodded in agreement. This satellite could always use more art on the walls, with out drab the place was without it.
no subject
Once Ammy had nodded agreement, she went hunting for pushpins so she could put it up on the wall. Thank goodness there were generous amounts of corkboard on the walls here.
Once finished, she stepped back to check her work. "What do you think?"
