Drinks are on the station!
Characters: Shepard and any adults who feel like getting smashed.
Content: With so much ale and mead on board, why let it go all to waste
Location: Cafeteria
Time of day: Evening to somewhere in the very early morning
Warnings: alcohol and everything related to it.
When someone does around to the mess of a space station for some food, they never really expect to see several ancient-looking barrels just neatly set up against the farthest wall. So for Shepard, she couldn't help but be a little suspicious. It didn't take long though to realize what they contained and that it hadn't been tampered with. Given nobody else was around, how could the commander say no to a little pick-me-up?
Using one of the equally ancient-looking mugs that were lying on the table, she poured herself a nice fill before sitting herself down at one of the tables. Raising the glass, it was almost to her lips when it hit her what she forgot.
She nodded with her mug and dipped her head a little at the barrels in a toast. "To whoever's terrible idea this was." She muttered and took in a nice swig of her drink.
[Alright folks, this will largely be a party-based log. There's juuust enough barrels of ale and mead to get everyone involved absolutely drunk, so have at it! Tag anywhere and everywhere you like. Please keep the characters to just adults as I'm sure there would be enough hilarity and awkwardness without the children. XD]

And wouldn't you have it, he just happened to stumble across one! It looked like a whole bunch of barrels and bottles had been set out in the cafeteria area. What's more, that really nice-looking woman was here, too...Shepard, was it?
This would probably be his only chance to have a bar setting with a pretty lady until he got back to Earth, so he decided to take advantage of this for all it was worth. He strode up to the barrels, putting on his best smile. "Well, hey there! Enough mead there to share?"

Shepard rested her shoulder against the drinking barrel and watched as Mike went over to pour himself a mug. "Mike, wasn't it? Just what kind of Temp jobs did you do before you ended up here?"
no subject
Luck definitely had to be on his side today...she was even starting off with normal small talk! "Oh you know, a wide variety of stuff...worked in a cheese factory for awhile, stint in an office, mascot for a local Weinserschnitzel, dishwasher..."
At least, those were some of the less shameful ones.
no subject
Her smile grew a little more when she heard Mike's answer. "You've certainly been around. Though aside from the mascot, they don't seem too bad. How long were you hired for most of these?"
no subject
And hey, was she really impressed by those temp jobs? He thought he'd been lucky to have Ginger impressed. Of course, the next question was not as nice...there was a reason they were called "temp" jobs. This called for another swig of his drink, which he gladly took. "Oh, you know...anywhere from a couple've weeks to six months. Heh, when you're tempin' it, it's one thing after another!"
no subject
She nodded to his answer and moved over a little to fill her mug a little more than where it was before. "Hopefully they paid decently, right?"
no subject
"So what sorta jobs do you get in the future? And hey...do they still have the World Series then?" He remembered her mentioning that she was from some time in the very-distant future. And if she knew some future things...maybe if he ever got down to Earth he could win an office pool or two.
no subject
She sipped her own drink, rubbing away some of the foam immediately from her mouth. What were the jobs in her future? "I haven't...exactly been anywhere near Allia-, I mean Human territories for a while. From what I saw, they were pretty much what you have here in this era and the other races were pretty much doing the same. The colonies are a little specialized, since necessity comes before preference, but still the same engineers, shop clerks and desk jockeys."
The more Shepard thought about it, it was no wonder there were so many mercenaries running around. People probably didn't want the boredom the other jobs had.

So, not as exciting as Mike would've thought. But then again, even in a future populated by aliens, he would be the kind to end up with a boring desk job. Perhaps there was just no way to get rid of those. "I guess the more things change, the more they stay the same, huh?" And as to his other question... "I guess there wouldn't really be a...'Universe Series', either."
He watched as Shepard took another sip of her drink. "Pretty good with your liquor, there!"

Normally, Falco wasn't one for small talk, but he was rather bored.
"That crap any good?"
no subject
"Want me to find a bird feeder for you?"
no subject
Falco grumbled and filled a mug of his own up, not even bothering to sit down before chugging it's contents. What a classy guy.
no subject
"Here to show us all the origin of the phrase 'drinking like a bird'?"
no subject
"Hell, I don't have anything better to do."
no subject
"You never have anything better to do. You've gotta get yourself a bird, man; can't be healthy to have this little a life."
no subject
He probably didn't actually understand what she meant, but that was okay. He had a huge mug of booze and he was going to town on it.

Just as she was thinking it was starting to get hot in all this stuff and was on her way to get something to drink anyway, she noted the barrels of mead lining the wall.
"Now that's what I'm talking about," she declared with a smile, "Who do we have to thank for all this?"
no subject
Still, he wasn't about to ruin the festive mood in the cafeteria. He eyed the barrels of mead and smiled despite himself. Yeah, a good drink wouldn't hurt now would it. "I don't know, normally I'd say we should buy them a drink but I have a feeling these are free for the taking." He looked down at Liz with a grin, "I say we take advantage of their generous gift." Normally he wasn't a drinking man and had mostly gone without since having Elysia, but there was always the time for exceptions.
As he passed Liz he nodded, "Nice getup by the way."

"I'd guess the ship," she suggested, with a shrug.
no subject
"Help yourselves to as much as you like. We wouldn't want any left over for the kids to get into." Her smile curled with a just a hint of mischief.
no subject
Liz nodded at Shepard's offer and quite quickly helped herself to a pewter mug and a pint of the mead before sitting with the others at the table. It certainly smelled like the good stuff already.
no subject
"Still, I can't imagine it'll be here for long."
