Random Encounters Everywhere

Characters: Anyone and everyone that wants to go questing!
Content: Characters hit various random encounters around the Satellite - Part 1
Location: Any deck
Time of Day: Throughout the day
Warnings: Fighting and violence against monsters

[This is an open party-style log! A random encounter begins when the area around your characters suddenly flashes with white light, and they find themselves transported to a flat, mostly-blank dimension. The monsters will be NPC'd reacting to your characters attacking them.]

The Satellite had certainly turned strange this week. Now, any characters wearing their now outfits were liable to suddenly find themselves in strange pocket dimensions...ones full with the most random of encounters!

"ALL RIGHT!!" Minako pumped her fist. "LEVEL UP!!"

Silence.

"...I wonder if we can choose what stats to level up too..."

After defeating the creatures, Riku felt a subtle rush of adrenaline tingle his back, leaving him to look down at his hands. He felt strangely invigorated.

That is, until Pinkie popped up singing and playing that fanfare. He paused to stare a few seconds, then shrugged. It was Pinkie Pie. No other explanation needed.

And Minako's enthusiasm earned a similar response. He took a step forward towards her. "Level up? ...Look, maybe you should give us a crash course before we get attacked again."

Well that was...definitely interesting. And somehow, Pinkie showing up to sing them a victory song was the least strange part about it. When it came to Pinkie Pie, that was almost expected.

He turned to Minako. It seemed like she had a better idea of what all that meant. "So...we get rewarded for winning? What stats do you mean?"

"And well, if that's all it takes to beat these guys...then we can definitely handle any more that come our way!"

Now that he knew how this worked, it definitely seemed doable.

"But you need to be aware of the roles you have, and what you can do with them" Hope added, this was close enough to what he knew from back that he felt confidant in speaking up.

"If this is anything like back home, for example, I'm not a strong as the rest of you, it's a trade off for me having the strongest magic, though."

"Yes!" At this, Minako nods. "In a role-playing game, your stats are basically your attributes, like agility, strength, intelligence, luck, and that sort of stuff! As you beat more enemies, you level up. As level up and get more powerful, your game attributes also become stronger and you can take on more enemies and learn new skills!"

She points to Hope.

"Of course, depending on your job, some stats will be stronger or weaker than others! Basically, Hope here, being a mage and using magic as his primary weapon, should have a high intelligence and luck, but low strength and possibly low agility to start out. Someone who uses a sword will likewise have high strength and some agility starting out, but low intelligence or luck! Or me, I probably have high intelligence and strength, but not so good luck or agility. Riku probably has a ton of strength and agility, but not so high luck and intelligence."

Behind Minako, Cambot was trying to make a projection of Minako's words, the result being lots of super-deformed figures running around with words being hastily scribbled over them.

"As you get stronger and learn different powers, you can always make your different attributes higher if you want, but you'll always your primary - your initial highest - attribute to be as strong as possible until you can't make it any stronger! Then you keep leveling up until you max out all your stats, and you'll be pretty much unstoppable!

"So let's start grinding so we can get to Level 99 ASAP!!"
optimistickey: (Determined - Yeah let's do this)

Skipping Riku with permission

Sora tried to listen through Minako's explanation, but most of it just didn't make any sense to him. At least Hope's talk about different roles made sense.

"Well...I don't really get what all of that means..." Sora finally admitted. Since when would using a sword or a spear determined how smart or lucky he was? But he got enough that if they kept fighting, they'd get stronger in very obvious ways and defeat even more monsters. Most importantly, if they had different strengths, that meant they had to rely on each other to pick up the slack. Sora knew how to fight that way.

"But if we stick together and keep going, then yeah, we can totally handle anything we find!"

Riku lowered his face slightly and raised his brows when he was made an example of. Did you really just say that?

It was an odd concept, but Riku understood. "Basically, Sora, we're in a game. We're bound by its rules. The type of fighter we are determines unseen stats that don't apply to our normal selves, and those stats can change based on how we grow as fighters."

"And it's a good thing it doesn't apply to our normal selves." He looked to Minako and smirked teasingly. "Or I'd hope an unlucky someone with high intellegence and low agility would be smart enough not to insult the intellegence of someone with a high strength."

Riku looked to Hope. "If your magic is the strongest of us all, then your strength doesn't matter. At the end of the day, you're going to be the one saving our skins."

"In a perfect scenario, maybe, where the monsters decide to leave me alone." Hope replied, frowning. "But smarter monsters would know to take me out first, and there'd be nothing I could really do about it."

He was speaking from experience, of course, take out the medic first and it'll be easier to take out the rest of the party.
