Well that was strange. Had they startled the bird somehow? Curious, Link started looking around for a way to climb up there. He doubted they'd really be able to catch it while it was up there, but maybe he could shoo it down from there somehow.

Climbing the storage racks it was. Which was about the same as climbing on ivy, in someways, but considerably more rigid. Not necessarily more stable, though, as one seemingly secure handhold on a box turned out not to be and that box tipped easily, nearly taking Link with it as it fell to the floor. It was full of hats, some of which might actually look quite fetching with the addition of feathers from the bird they were looking for.

He halfway doubted it would still be there when he got up there, but maybe he'd get a clue as to where it was going.

It definitely sounded like something was up there. Xion didn't beat Link to attempting the climb, but could at least try to steady the storage rack for him. Which meant dodging the box of hats as it fell. "You okay?"

No, it wasn't likely they'd find the bird, since they weren't exactly being quiet. Still, it was one step closer and they might find more information.

[From above, there's the sound of some kind of squawking and another THUMP against the ceiling. The sound is moving further down the hall, albeit haphazardly.]

Link got down from the racks and followed at ground level. It was making enough noise to make tracking it possible and seemed to be having a tough time of it.

"I think we scared it," he remarked.

"Maybe." From the sound of it, the bird was definitely not trying to be quiet anymore, and giving up any pretense of stealth usually meant fear.

Xion backed up to give Link room to get down safely, then fell in line behind him. With this much noise, tracking should be easy.

Pinkie trotted ahead of the other two, keeping her eyes on the ceiling. "Awwww, don't be scared! I'll give you something yummy if you come ouuuut~!" She wasn't entirely sure how Fluttershy dealt with all her little animal buddies, but offering treats seemed like a good start to her!

laaaaate

It didn't seem very likely that the bird was going to stop, not even for treats. The most they could do was follow it and see where it was going.

More than likely, it thought it was being pursued by something predatory. Unfortunately, if they backed off now they might lose it and that would be annoying. Link didn't really like the idea of having to try to locate it again.

[The sound continued on down the deck aways until it reached the end. There, there didn't seem to be anything obstructing their view...but still nothing could be seen. There was just the sound of something fluttering and thumping.]

It was just like Pinkie Pie to try to lure the bird (or birds) out with sweets. While Xion appreciated the sentiment, she didn't think it would work as well as it did with some people. At least whatever they were following made enough noise to actually be followed.

The dead end made her pause, though. If it was in the ceiling, the bird could have gone on, right? So why did it sound as close as ever, but she couldn't see it, even though nothing was blocking her view?
sailorlaughter: (think...)

"Huh!" Pinkie trotted up to the end of the deck, pressing an ear against the wall. She'd been up in the air vents before, she was pretty sure the bird should've been able to keep going if it wanted. "Do you think it got stuck up there?"
