Catching you kids up on real cinema. (Open)

Finally, with its anticlimactic ending having blazed its way across the screen, Harry sat back in his seat, empty popcorn bag in hand. Closing his eyes to savor the beauty that was quality cinema after a bombardment of awful stories, Harry's mind was full of swallows and black knights, and fearsome bunny rabbits. Beautiful.

Then, opening his eyes, he gazed over at those seated in the theater with him.

"So, what did you think?"

Between all the various things that had been near-constant in Aqua's life in the Land of Departure, there hadn't really been a lot of time for things like movies. There'd been enough for them to find time to watch them every now and then, but only sparingly. Still, she had at least seen enough to have something of a general idea of what most genres were like. This one had been nothing at all like any of the others she'd seen. Not that it been bad though. She'd rather liked it.

"It was good," she answered, with a smile.

The problem with being a hero was that one was always strapped for time, forced to rush from one crises to the next and battle enemies who didn't seem to understand that weekends were meant to be relaxing. Still, one thing Harry had learned very early on was that if the universe wasn't going to give you time to enjoy yourself, then you just had to make time. Otherwise, you risked going crazy or cracking from the pressure.

And certainly nothing took one's mind off things quite like the genre defying antics of Monty Python.

"Glad you think so," he grinned. "Now half the things I say might actually make sense."

Assuming one even had weekends to begin with. Master Eraqus had given them days off, but to hear it from him, training to be a Master was a lifelong struggle and there had certainly been days where it seemed very much like it. But he hadn't ever asked for all of their time, and for that she'd been glad. She doubted she'd have made it nearly as far as she'd gotten without that fact.

"Only half?" she asked, with a faint smile.

Ebenezer McCoy had been the same way, demanding and pushing to teach his wayward pupil that magic was not some end goal, but the journey of life itself, something that kept growing and changing with you until the day you left the world, and even beyond. It was a part of who a wizard was, and like his body, if he ignored it too long it would just decay away.

Still, he had also taught Harry that understanding magic was understanding life, and you couldn't understand life without living.

Pleased he'd gotten a smile out of the serious young woman, Harry just shrugged. "Well, you still haven't seen Star Wars."

Magic had been something different for Aqua. Oh, she'd had to learn it just as much as anyone else had, but there had really only been so much that Master Eraqus had been able to teach her. After that, she'd been largely self taught. It had usually meant frustrating nights over various old tomes and every now and then an explosion, but no matter. It was part of life and that was all.

If it hadn't been for Terra and Ven, she probably never would have had a life outside of the library.

"Star Wars?"

Really, old tomes and explosions were just part and parcel of the life of a wizard, perhaps the only consistent aspects there were, aside from maybe the threat of isolating oneself from the world. That was the threat they all faced, and one they had to overcome in their own ways if they wanted to keep the life from consuming them.

"The single most life changing science fiction film you'll ever see."

Well, she had to admit the idea of the movie sounded interesting enough. And it wasn't like the movie they'd just finished had been bad, so she had to assume that Harry at least knew something about what he was talking about, barring differences in taste.

"Maybe later, then."

Whether or not Harry had taste was up for debate, and would leave pretty much everyone related to him or who he saw on a daily basis in utter stitches if you asked them, but luckily for Aqua he'd decided to start everyone off with the basics. Hammerhands would have to wait for another day.

"It's a-" he almost said date, then something told him that would be a bad idea. Like somewhere ~~in the not to distant future~~ a pony, snarker, and Knight of the Cross were all staring at him reprovingly and shaking their heads slowly. "movie night."

It was most likely a good thing he hadn't called it a date. It would have only given risen to some fairly spectacular confusion, on Aqua's end. Even if her assumption had been right, it wouldn't have made things easier. In fact, it made have made them worse.

Given the hastily adjusted wording, however, she simply nodded. "I'll be looking forward to it."

"Excellent. This time, I'll see if I can track down some malted milk balls."
