Rockin' Around The Charlie Brown Christmas Tree [OPEN]

Characters: Anyone and everyone!
Content: Get your Christmas Party on!
Location: The Weapons Deck
Time of day: Evening of Christmas Day, after people have gotten presents
Warnings: None...for now...

[Since the Weapons Deck is totally empty, Mike and the Bots have taken it upon themselves to transform it for a rockin’ good Christmas Party! The Charlie Brown Tree has been safely set aside too; all decorated up. There’s a table with punch, food and way too many desserts for any group of people to handle, a bunch of Christmas decorations thanks to Rarity and her decorating crew, and even Christmas music that’s only slightly annoying!

Characters are free to come in and grab food, mingle, play games, exchange gifts or stories...whatever they want! Obviously, treat this thread as party-style.

There’s one more special note...there’s a couple bowls of punch sitting next to a big pan of Green Bean Casserole of Tranquility. Unfortunately, Crow accidentally mixed in some leftover Waters of Forgetfulness to make the punch. That water, combined with the spicy punch flavoring, has created an unusual concoction. If your characters drink some of this punch, they won’t notice anything wrong...at least yet!]

All Roxas really knew about parties was that they were supposed to be fun and that said fun somehow came from either hanging around talking, dancing, stuffing your face or somehow making a fool of yourself. Games may or may not have been mentioned when he was told of it. In any case, he was curious. In any case, there was food and for some stupid reason, he hadn't eaten yet that day. Naturally, this meant his first stop upon arrival was the table with the food.

He gave the punch a wary look, if only because he'd heard far too many stories from other members of the Organization about some humiliating thing or another that had happened to their Others at parties where something odd was done with the punch. Roxas decided he'd wait and let someone else try it first. If it was okay, then he would have some. Other wise, there probably safer options.

Kotetsu was doing his best to get into the spirit. He was upset that he had no contact with his family. Not that he always made it home to see them for the holidays, but at least they had only a phone call away. He missed Bunny, too, especially after the events that had been kicked off around this time last year.

But he wasn't going to let anyone see that. A party sounded like a good distraction, so he made his way down to the weapons deck and try to have some fun. After loitering at the food tables for a while, he noticed the young man by the punch bowls and wandered over.

"Someone already get to the punch? Kind of early for that, isn't it?"

Between getting gifts both from some of his friends here and from Santa himself, Sora was already riding a bit of a Christmas high. So what better way to finish off this Christmas than with a party? While he did wish that he could see Kairi and Donald and Goofy here, at least there were all his other friends...plus the other people he hadn't talked with much yet.

The normally bare-and-sterile-looking Weapons Deck had been made a lot more festive-looking thanks to some of the more creative types around the ship. Sora was, as always, eager to socialize a bit. So he headed over to the snacks table and grabbed up a cup of punch and took a sip of it, looking around for anyone new.

"Frankly, the punch scares me," Roxas replied, "Though that might have something to do with some stories I've heard about people doing odd things to the punch at parties." He left out the fact that he would have some if someone else tried it and it seemed safe. In the meantime, he was looking into other options for drinks, in between loading up a plate with food.

While she would rather not admit it, Christmas this year had a sort of sad note for Liz. As much as she was having the time of her life up on the Satellite of Love, it was probably inevitable that cabin fever and holiday blues would settle in sooner or later when the only contacts one had with one's home were an obnoxious teenager, a withdrawn lounge singer and a snarky comic book nerd who snored way too loudly. And so she delved into the best cure she knew for such feelings; distraction therapy. It wasn't easy finding presents for everybody she could think of, but somehow she managed it, and now by gummet she was gonna have a good time at this party.

She fussed over the skirt of the red dress she found in her closet - she was so used to wearing pants that everything else felt a little weird - and found herself a seat by the little tree, now in full flourish, as to be expected by now. It looked like there weren't a whole lot of people here yet, so she took this time to just take in the atmosphere, sipping a can of Mountain Dew and watching the small mingling crowd. Mike and the bots planned this, so whatever happened tonight was going to be interesting, to say the least.

"Greetings Sora," Kaldur replied as he approached the snack table. He was not as big on Christmas as some of the others on the SoL, but ever since helping Rarity decorate he had found himself becoming a bit more festive. It was rather infectious actually and while he could not spend this holiday with his team, he did not mind spending it with new friends.

"Have you had a merry Christmas so far?"

The smell of sweets lured Saria here; somehow she missed the memo that there was a party. But as she showed up, she stepped into the room, craning her neck to see all the decorations. She had never seen so much splendor before; this Christmas thing really was a big deal, it seemed. She smiled a little, sidling shyly toward the table of sweets and carefully taking a cookie from one of the trays.

Not being much of a party person (and still not really understanding what this "Christmas" shit was all about), Falco was only here for one reason: Free alcohol. And lots of it.

Unfortunately, it seemed that he was having a hard time locating said alcohol. All he seemed to be coming across was a bunch of desserts, a sketchy looking casserole, and a bowl of boring ass, probably not-spiked punch.

Whatever, punch would do. He got himself a cup, and after scanning the area for someone to annoy (mainly one Boyscout McCloud, but alas, he seemed to be absent as of yet), he decided to stroll on over to Liz and comment on shit that wasn't any of his business.

"Never thought I'd catch you in a skirt."

"Ah, it's a pretty common thing at parties. Kinda strange with so many kids around, though." Kotetsu examined the punch bowl, rubbing his chin. He poured himself a cup, sniffed it, and took a sip.

"Seems safe to me."

Don't forget the mad scientist. He's walking around, totally normal. Innocent, people watching...

Behind you. Yes, popping up behind people is just what he does.

"Enjoying the festivities?"

[identity profile] virtualunknown.livejournal.com 2011-12-28 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
MakubeX had joined the party, thinking it best to be around others than to sit alone and dwell on matters. He approached the sweets as well, smiling.

"Ah, hello. Merry Christmas."

Namine hung back a little at first, keeping to the sidelines of the crowd. Riku had helped her at the party they'd had just after they arrived on the satellite, but she knew from Sora's memories that you weren't supposed to only talk to people you know at parties. So she thought it might be good to observe for a bit, just watch and see where there might be a good chance to speak to someone.

It helped that there were snacks to eat while she did so. The cake and cookies weren't up to Pinkie Pie's standard, but still good.

[personal profile] thirteenth_brat 2011-12-28 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Roxas shrugged. He was more interested in food than drink at the moment anyway. That and maybe meeting a few people he knew in person when he hadn't really been able to speak with them before. So far he'd only seen Namine in person. He wasn't sure he actually wanted to talk to Riku, but he wouldn't go out of his way to avoid him either. He'd kind of gotten the impression that his presence troubled Riku and he doubted actively avoiding him would help.

Mostly, Roxas wanted to talk to Sora. In person. Chatting with him on the network twice didn't count. There was also Xion to consider. His memories of his time with the Organization were a bit spotty and he was starting to wonder if it was because anything pertaining to Xion had been removed somehow. He got the impression they'd been friends when he knew her, but that was about it.

Sighing, he tried to remind himself that this was a party and supposedly parties were fun. If that was true, he wasn't going to enjoy it with such heavy stuff on his mind.

[identity profile] optimistickey.livejournal.com 2011-12-28 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Hey, Kaldur!" Sora smiled as he approached. It'd been awhile since he'd talked to him, and so he was glad for the chance to chat now...ever since those Temple games, he'd been wanting to compete with him again.

"Yeah, I got some great presents!" Sora beamed, and took another sip of punch. After finding out he'd gotten on Santa's naughty list, he was at least glad to see that it hadn't lasted into this year. "Kinda wish I could share it with all of my friends back home, but at least there's some here. How about you?"

[identity profile] skysmirror.livejournal.com 2011-12-28 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
Xion slipped quietly into the crowd at the party. She'd never been to one before and was curious, but now that she was here, she was at a loss for what to do. You were supposed to talk to people at parties, right? Only...There weren't many people here she knew and would feel comfortable walking up and talking to.

She ended up hanging back against the wall, observing the others.

[identity profile] skysmirror.livejournal.com 2011-12-28 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
Xion had managed to make her way over to the food table--she was a bit hungry. Though she steered clear of the punch for the same reasons Roxas had, the food looked good so she decided to try a few things.

Noticing Roxas, she smiled faintly. "Hi, Roxas."

[identity profile] solmidna.livejournal.com 2011-12-28 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
Midna scooted over to the wall near the girl in the dark cloak. She'd met some of these people, but not too many, and it seemed like it was a good idea to just stay out of the way until she saw what the party was like.

"I guess you aren't used to this either?"

[identity profile] eyeofwildtiger.livejournal.com 2011-12-28 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
Hearing that sigh, Kotetsu gave Roxas a well-meaning pat on the shoulder.

"It's good. You should try some." He motioned to the other tables. "Everything else is really good, too. You're missing out just standing here."

If he wasn't going to mope about, he certainly wasn't going to let a kid do so, either. Especially on Christmas.

[personal profile] thirteenth_brat 2011-12-28 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
He didn't notice her at first since he was a wee bit preoccupied with his food, but he did hear his name and turned around to see who had addressed him.

At least he had the decency to finish what he was chewing on before speaking, not that it made the first words out of his mouth any less lame... "Oh, uh, hi."

[identity profile] sailorlaughter.livejournal.com 2011-12-28 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Surprisingly enough, Pinkie Pie wasn't present at the beginning of the party. In fact, as people began to arrive, the pink party pony was rather conspicuously absent. She'd already given everyone her gifts (http://sailorlaughter.livejournal.com/1122.html), and the cookies that hadn't been given out as presents had already mysteriously appeared on the buffet table. It wasn't until most of the guests were already present that Pinkie entered, bouncing up onto her hind hooves in the doorway. "HEY EVERYBODY!"

Out of nowhere, she pulled a huge blanket-covered form - which, as she whisked the blankets away, was revealed to be a very large blue-and-yellow cannon pointed right at the center of the room. Pinkie gave the string on the back a quick yank with her teeth, and with a loud BANG the target area suddenly sported its own small table, draped in streamers, confetti, and balloons and bearing a rather large cake. "YEEEEEEEAH~! LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!" Pinkie shouted triumphantly, before vaulting over the party cannon to dive face-first into the cake. Behind her, the party cannon released a second shower of cupcakes and gingerbread ponies over the general area of the room. That new multi-fire function had been the BEST idea.

"It's known to happen sometimes," Liz remarked without missing a beat. She leaned back in her chair and crossed her legs, taking another sip of her soda.

"What about you? Never thought I'd catch you here at all."

[identity profile] punsofiron.livejournal.com 2011-12-28 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Aaand there was the inevitable headache. Liz rolled her eyes mentally and turned to look at the mad scientist behind her with a sweet, passive-aggressive smile.

"Why yes, yes I am. How's your day out from under that rock?"

[identity profile] game-over-pal.livejournal.com 2011-12-28 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
"I came for the booze. All I found was this crappy punch."

Falco paused and took a sip of said punch. He made a weird face at it. "...and it doesn't seem like anyone's spiked it. What a let down."

[personal profile] thirteenth_brat 2011-12-28 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
Roxas approached Sora as soon as he spotted him. Truthfully, he still wasn't sure this wasn't all one big messed up dream and he wasn't sure yet how talking to Sora in person would confirm that they were both actually awake. But more than that, even though he really hadn't been away from Sora for all that long, it felt weird. Even if this was a dream, it wasn't uncommon to feel disconnect from Sora when it came to some dreams, usually nightmares.

When he saw that Sora had gotten some punch, he almost decided to put off talking to him until he saw whether or not it did anything weird to him, but decided it couldn't be any worse than the homecoming party his family had thrown where Tidus had slipped something odd into Sora's drink. Actually, it could be funny, given that Roxas didn't have to share the effects this time.

"Having fun yet?" That was lame, but he was pretty sure Sora wouldn't care about that.

Saria looked up at the taller boy who just came toward her and smiled a little.

"Uh yes...Merry...Christmas."

She took a bite of the cookie as she looked around the room again. It was very good; she'd never actually tasted chocolate before.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?"
