Rockin' Around The Charlie Brown Christmas Tree [OPEN]

Location: The Weapons Deck
Time of day: Evening of Christmas Day, after people have gotten presents
Warnings: None...for now...

[Since the Weapons Deck is totally empty, Mike and the Bots have taken it upon themselves to transform it for a rockin’ good Christmas Party! The Charlie Brown Tree has been safely set aside too; all decorated up. There’s a table with punch, food and way too many desserts for any group of people to handle, a bunch of Christmas decorations thanks to Rarity and her decorating crew, and even Christmas music that’s only slightly annoying!

Characters are free to come in and grab food, mingle, play games, exchange gifts or stories...whatever they want! Obviously, treat this thread as party-style.

There’s one more special note...there’s a couple bowls of punch sitting next to a big pan of Green Bean Casserole of Tranquility. Unfortunately, Crow accidentally mixed in some leftover Waters of Forgetfulness to make the punch. That water, combined with the spicy punch flavoring, has created an unusual concoction. If your characters drink some of this punch, they won’t notice anything wrong...at least yet!]

Roxas approached Sora as soon as he spotted him. Truthfully, he still wasn't sure this wasn't all one big messed up dream and he wasn't sure yet how talking to Sora in person would confirm that they were both actually awake. But more than that, even though he really hadn't been away from Sora for all that long, it felt weird. Even if this was a dream, it wasn't uncommon to feel disconnect from Sora when it came to some dreams, usually nightmares.

When he saw that Sora had gotten some punch, he almost decided to put off talking to him until he saw whether or not it did anything weird to him, but decided it couldn't be any worse than the homecoming party his family had thrown where Tidus had slipped something odd into Sora's drink. Actually, it could be funny, given that Roxas didn't have to share the effects this time.

"Having fun yet?" That was lame, but he was pretty sure Sora wouldn't care about that.

Sora probably should have known that Roxas would find him in person sooner or later, especially at something like a party. Even so, he was still a little bit surprised and nervous to see him here. A part of him wondered if maybe he wouldn't merge with Roxas again if they got too close...there was no telling what could happen on this ship. But as he approached, Sora didn't feel any different, and it looked like he didn't have to worry about that for now.

So he offered his best smile...he had the opportunity now to meet and talk to Roxas face to face, and that was an opportunity he couldn't waste. "Hi, Roxas!" He took another sip of his punch. "Yeah, it's pretty fun so far. I imagine it'll get crazy once Pinkie shows up..." He scanned the deck for the pink pony, then turned back to Roxas. "What do you think?"

Roxas thought he might have been imagining it when Sora seemed nervous, but he decided not to comment on it.

And he couldn't argue about the possibility of things getting weird when the pink pony showed up. He still wasn't sure how she'd found him so quick to give him that cupcake, though he couldn't call it a bad thing. It had been a nice gesture and a tasty cupcake.

"I think you're right," he replied, also looking around.

If Sora had been nervous before, he was getting over it now, with the assurance that things seemed to be okay with them for now. He took another drink of the punch before reaching over for a sugar cookie.

It occurred to Sora...had Roxas even ever been to a party before? Would he remember it from his own memories? That was another weird thought. "So...does this mean this is your first real party?" Somehow he couldn't imagine the Organization ever throwing parties.

Okay, that question kind of smacked Roxas in the head. He'd almost forgotten that this place pulled people from different points in time as well as different worlds. He had been to one party before, sort of. He'd been riding along in Sora's heart at the time and Sora didn't know yet that he was still a separate entity in there.

"Uh... in a way?" he replied, uncertain as to whether or not he even wanted to get into the timey-wimey stuff, "It's kind of complicated."

Of course, Sora could never let it go that easily. He was naturally curious, and now trying to figure out what sort of party Roxas would be at. Especially since Sora had never even gotten home, and therefore hadn't had any welcome-home party yet. "Complicated how?" he asked.

Of course he knew Sora wasn't going to let it drop. He was pretty sure he had already told someone that they got home... although that might have been Riku that he told... "Well, I told you where this place yanked me from, right? And that was after you got, er, get, home."

He was pretty sure that confirming for Sora that he would actually get home wasn't a problem, but he had been paying attention when Merlin had sent Sora into the past to fix a problem around Disney Castle and he had heard the wizard's warning about being tempted to interfere. Then again, maybe he was worrying too much.

"Huh? ...Ohh." Thinking it over, Sora supposed that that meant in the future he hadn't seen yet, there would be some party for when he and Riku got home. The thought reminded him that he was still rather homesick, and he was silent for a little bit before he remembered that Roxas was still there and responded to him again.

He tried to brink back up a smile. "Well then...this is still kind of your first real party!" A party where Roxas wasn't entirely bound by what he did and went, which was still another weird thought. "So you gotta try everything."

Trust Sora to find a silver lining somewhere. He was right. This was Roxas's first actual party that where he could mingle and talk to whoever he wanted.

Though he didn't miss the fact that something he'd said made Sora stop and think for a moment. However, if Sora didn't want to talk about it, Roxas wasn't going to pry.

"Hmm. I dunno about trying everything..." That might be a bit much, but he was planning to talk to a few people.

"Well, maybe not everything," Sora admitted with a shrug. There probably wasn't time to try everything. "But a lot of things!" He nodded to the drink he had, which Roxas seemed to be missing right now. "For example, this stuff's pretty good!"

Despite his past bad experience with free food (Pinkie Pie's cupcakes in particular), Sora had never much thought twice about trying some.

Roxas eyed the punch, for the second time since he'd arrived. If he hadn't heard so many stories about the weird things people liked to do to punch at parties, he would have had some already. Admittedly, the sources of these stories were questionable, but the situations were plausible and he supposed he understood the appeal of such sneaky tricks. That was all beside the point, though.

"Uh, I'm good." He had located other refreshments and so had a soda.

Actually, he was starting to get bored. Sure, talking and enjoying the food was fine, but weren't there also games and stuff at parties? He kept the complaint to himself for the moment. It was possible he was just being impatient.

"All right." Sora shrugged, and took another drink. He didn't see what was wrong with the punch, anyway.

Some games were also starting to sound good for Sora, although he wasn't sure what all was available here. That and he was feeling a little...excited, all of a sudden! Not his usual kind of excitement...it was hard to explain.

But meanwhile, he was still curious about talking to Roxas, at least on happier subjects. "Oh! What'd Santa bring you?" Since he'd been here for Christmas, after all, Santa couldn't have forgotten Roxas!

Roxas had almost totally forgotten about the gift he'd found when he woke up that morning.

"Er... I didn't open it yet." Which was true. Though he had given it a shake to try to find out what was in it. That hadn't been very informative, though.

"Whaaat? Why not?" Sora said, a bit incredulous. Come on, even if Roxas had never had his own Christmas before (which he wasn't sure on either), he should at least have known about the basics! "You gotta open your presents first thing in the morning! That's part of the fun!"

Roxas shrugged. He hadn't really thought it was that big of a deal. He'd also had other things on his mind, but he wasn't going to mention that to Sora.

"I didn't think it was that big of a deal..."

If Roxas had other things on his mind, Sora wasn't really picking up on them at the moment.

"It's Christmas! It only comes once a year! Come on, get into the spirit of it!" Sora said, feeling more and more spirited himself.

Roxas really wasn't feeling particularly spirited at the moment and he didn't miss that Sora seemed to be getting more into it.

"Um, Sora... maybe not everyone is that into it."

Actually, he was starting to worry that maybe there was something in the punch, given that this seemed like a new level of excitable even for Sora.

"Well...then open them when the party's over!" Sora insisted. Really, it was presents! Why would you want to wait to open presents, especially Christmas ones? Whether or not anyone was 'into it' was beside the point...it was a gift! Nobodies could be weird sometimes.

Okay, this was getting... odd. He knew Sora was like a little kid about stuff like this, but really? Roxas was starting to think something was wrong.

"Sora, you're startin' to freak me out a little. Are you okay?"

"Sure I'm okay! I'm great! Why wouldn't I be?" Sora replied. What was to freak out about? Yeah, he was feeling a bit lighter and happier than usual. But Roxas needed to learn to lighten up himself a bit, too. As if to suddenly prove this, Sora gave a short burst of laughter.

Roxas might have passed it off Sora just being weird for the special occasion, but the sudden laughter gave him pause. If he been starting to think he was just being paranoid about the punch, he didn't think that anymore.

"No, you're not okay," he said, suddenly stern, "I think you've had enough of that punch. Give me the cup."

"No, I'm totally fine!" Sora stared down at the cup with a bit of a frown...what was wrong with the punch? It tasted pretty good to him. Well, maybe Roxas wanted to try it! He was trying to get Roxas to open up a bit, right?

"What? Do you want some, too?" Sora motioned with the cup towards the table where there were still some bowls of it left. "It's pretty good!"

"No, I don't want any of the punch," Roxas replied, trying not to sound snippy, "But I think you've had enough of it." Obviously, Sora wasn't going to hand over the cup. Well, spilling it was better than having him drink any more of it, so Roxas made a grab for the cup, though whether he succeeded or not was entirely depended on whether or not Sora's reflexes were intact.

"No I haven't! I haven't even had two cups of it!" He didn't much resist when Roxas tried to grab it out of his hands, however...it just spilled some as Roxas took it from him. Sora's frown grew a little deeper.

It wasn't like he was drunk or anything! Was he? He'd never been drunk before, but he knew from stories that that usually involved slurring your words and goofy expressions and walking around like you were about to trip. And he could talk and walk just fine, so it couldn't be that.

"Sheeeeeesh, you really gotta lighten up!"

Roxas wasn't thinking alcohol was the issue. That, as far as he knew, had a distinctive odor. He was thinking more along the lines of other things that could be put into punch that could cause problems. Magic or not, there were a lot of possibilities.

"Sora, you're... really acting kind of weird." He was trying to sound stern, but anyone actually paying attention would realize he also sounded worried. Boy, did he wish he'd caught Sora before he'd gotten into the punch.
