Getting to Know You~

Characters: Pinkie and everyone else!
Content: Meet and greet party! Get to know your fellow SoL'ers! THREADJACK EVERYTHING
Location: Deck 4
Time of Day: Next...Monday Evening, A.D.? o.0
Warnings: Sugar and hyperactivity

A few minutes ago, the following message went out over the Cambot network:

YOU'RE INVITED!

Welcome to the Satellite Party! Right now on Deck 4!

Come get to know everyone and make new friends! Refreshments will be provided! Everyone welcome!

Even though she hasn't had very long to get the party ready, Pinkie's still somehow found time to completely furnish Deck 4 with tablecloths, balloons, and streamers. She's already found the media deck, too; there's a hastily gathered collection of party music. There's also a punch bowl, a sheet cake that reads "SATELLITE OF PARTY", and some cupcakes, just in case the first cake isn't big enough for everyone. The pony herself is standing by the door wearing a party hat and nearly vibrating in her excitement to greet her guests. Despite her efforts, she's fairly sure she hasn't met everypony on the Satellite yet, but she totally will now! And everyone will make friends with each other, and the Satellite will be 500% awesomer!

The alliterative couple took to mingling the party on their own for now, Liz deciding to lean against the drink table, immediately reaching for the Mountain Dew.

As she saw the two robots passing by, she raised her plastic cup in greeting. "Bots, you're looking snappy tonight."

"Why thank you!" Crow said, clearly pleased with the compliment. "We don't get to do nearly enough parties up here."

Tom was clearly already ready for the party to get really exciting. "Want some punch? I can guarantee that it's definitely not spiked!" said Tom with a bit of a conspiring chuckle.

"Yeah, I can imagine, with just the four of you up here."

She knew a little better than to trust them on that statement. Not that she couldn't hold her liquor. But she smiled and shook her head anyway. "I'm good for now.

So, what do you guys usually do for fun around here?"

[identity profile] itsjustthebots.livejournal.com 2011-09-07 09:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, Gypsy's always off running the higher functions of the ship, Cambot's busy too, and Mike's...Mike," Crow sighed. While they could certainly keep each other entertained, some fresh meat was nice.

Tom looked disappointed that she didn't want any punch, but didn't press Liz on it. He just gave a little shrug, inasmuch as a robot such as him couls shrug. "Oh, you know, the usual! Read comic books, bake souffles, go fishing, play games, solve world hunger but not tell anyone, spy on Mike..."

"And I write screenplays!" Crow piped up.

[identity profile] punsofiron.livejournal.com 2011-09-07 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, something tells me it'll be hard for things to get boring around here now. Not that it was too boring before, I hope."

Of course it wasn't; she watched the damn show. But better safe than sorry when it came to that there fourth wall, even if she and Linkara were atop it all the time.

Oh dear, she certainly remembered Crow's screenplays. Rather than offend the bot with something she might have to say about it, she steered the conversation toward Tom.

"Comic books and games are a good place to start. Anything good? The library sure doesn't have a lot of selection that got my attention, but you'd probably know better than me."

[identity profile] itsjustthebots.livejournal.com 2011-09-08 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Naaah, not too boring," Crow replied. "We can have fun all on our own. But now we can get even more people in on it!"

Unfortunately, in general their selection of media was not that terrific. Tom piped up here. "Nah, nothing really. We've got all your usual board games, but a bunch of them are missing the pieces and you can't trust Mike to be the banker ever 'cause he's got working thumbs. That's why we usually just make up our own games."

"The more the merrier, right?"

Liz took another sip of Mountain Dew thoughtfully. "Man, haven't played a board game in a long time. I'm more of a pen and paper gamer myself."

[identity profile] itsjustthebots.livejournal.com 2011-09-08 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Yooou betcha!" Crow said. The more around, the more chances to blame someone else for shenanigans, too.

Tom immediately perked up at the mention of 'pen and paper gamer.' "Oh! Oh, oh, oh! Do you know Dungeons and Dragons?"

Next to him, Crow groaned.

[identity profile] punsofiron.livejournal.com 2011-09-08 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
Liz immediately perked right back as Tom mentioned Dungeons and Dragons, and as her eyes got gleefully large she probably looked a lot like Linkara when he got going on good comics.

"Do I ever!" she exclaimed, "I was DMing a campaign back home, and I've played more than I'm even gonna bother counting."

[identity profile] itsjustthebots.livejournal.com 2011-09-08 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
Tom practically leaped for joy. Finally, someone else who shared his passion for DnD...and was perhaps willing to play! "Oh boy oh boy, I'd love to do a campaign! None of these guys ever want to play for some reason!" Tom exclaimed.

"Oh great, now you totally got him started..." Crow sighed. Now he'd never hear the end of it.

[identity profile] punsofiron.livejournal.com 2011-09-08 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
"Hey, if you've got the material, I could probably round a few people up for you. My boyfriend plays too, and I was just talking with someone the other day about it who wanted to learn."

[identity profile] itsjustthebots.livejournal.com 2011-09-08 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
Tom bounced about, causing the punch in his head to slosh around and spill out a bit. "Sssssuper! I've got the manual and the board and all the dice, although the manual is version four. But that's okay, I totally like to make up new monsters and rules and stuff when we play! Let's get a whole big group together!"

Crow was rapidly losing interest in this conversation. "Fiiiiine. You NERDS can play with your dice all you want."

[identity profile] punsofiron.livejournal.com 2011-09-08 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm sure I can get a good group together." Of course it was fourth edition. Of course. But oh well, she was itching for some gaming anyway. And it would be nice to play instead of DM for a while.

She gave Crow a little smirk at his annoyance. "Hey, I resemble that remark!"

[identity profile] itsjustthebots.livejournal.com 2011-09-08 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"Great! Oh boy, finally I can work out my DnD campaign..." Tom said, still spilling punch everywhere in his excitement. "Let's do it in my room!" he suggested, although that meant he'd probably have to stash his underwear collection somewhere not in the open.

"Yup, 'cause that's what you nerds do! I'll just go read all my comic books and put them in plastic sheets while you're doing that," Crow said.
