A few minutes ago, the following message went out over the Cambot network:

YOU'RE INVITED!

Welcome to the Satellite Party! Right now on Deck 4!

Come get to know everyone and make new friends! Refreshments will be provided! Everyone welcome!

Even though she hasn't had very long to get the party ready, Pinkie's still somehow found time to completely furnish Deck 4 with tablecloths, balloons, and streamers. She's already found the media deck, too; there's a hastily gathered collection of party music.There's also a punch bowl, a sheet cake that reads "SATELLITE OF PARTY", and some cupcakes, just in case the first cake isn't big enough for everyone. The pony herself is standing by the door wearing a party hat and nearly vibrating in her excitement to greet her guests. Despite her efforts, she's fairly sure she hasn't met everypony on the Satellite yet, but she totally will now! And everyone will make friends with each other, and the Satellite will be 500% awesomer!

Just as Riku began to saunter in, he stopped at a sudden touch. He looked back and down, seeing a familiar face. "Hey Namine." He was mildly surprised. "Everything okay?"

[OOC: Okie-dokie. Jsyk Riku's not exactly used to that, so he'll act accordingly. XD;]

Namine tried to smile, but it didn't reach her eyes. "I think so, but I've never done this before. I thought...maybe we could go in together?"

[ooc: As he should. Nami will get her feet under her quickly..I hope. XD;]

Riku paused a moment... It was clear she wasn't comfortable. She needed some experience. No harm.

He then offered his arm. "Okay."

[No worries, I'm amused. XD]

Namine's expression brightened at the encouragement. There was some relief mixed in with the real smile she gave him as she placed her hand on his arm. "Thanks, Riku. Shall we?"

[XD; I'm glad. Character and mun both worry about being a bother.]

"Sure," Riku shrugged. He lead her in, though where to go he had no real idea. Drinks. He was thirsty. Might as well, right?

[OOC: Mun worries about being a bother, mun thinks she is one. But neither this mun nor muse thinks either of you are. ;) And why do I get the feeling that any characters seeing this will gossip?]

Namine followed Riku's lead, careful not to bump into anyone. When she saw the variety of food and drinks, her eyes widened. Wasn't it good manners to try a little of everything? On the other hand, that might be more than she could eat, and too much sweets gave you a stomachache, right?

Riku had been steering her towards the drinks, though, so she picked up a paper cup and studied the possibilities. After a moment's thought, she looked up at Riku. "Any suggestions?"

It was a good idea to ask someone that might have tried them before, after all.

[XD The feeling is mutual; yay for not being a bother~

*snerks* I hadn't thought of that--they might! I'm also curious as to when Sora's going to bust in saying "no fair having fun without me". Or maybe Pinkie Pie will come to make sure they're having the most fun party evar!!! XD;]

Riku stared at her a brief moment before realizing that no, soda had never been a luxury for her. He looked back to the drinks, trying to evaluate which one was which. "Anything clear, green or yellow is usually citrus-flavored. Brown is usually cola... Don't know how to describe that. ...I think that one's root beer. That's good, too. ...Don't know how to describe that either. That big bowl has punch. It's fruity."

He took some clear soda for himself.

[OOC: Yaaaaaay! And yeah, that'd be hilarious if they did! Should this be a rumor? And my gosh, Pinkie Pie might comment if she came by. XD;]

Namine blinked at the term "root beer"--wasn't beer supposed to be for people older than she and Riku were? He'd said it was good, though, so she poured herself half a cup to try. She looked up at Riku in surprise. "That's really sweet."

Then again, the sweetest food she'd tried was sea-salt ice cream, and that was a little salty, too.

"It is. It's best as a float, though." Riku quickly realized she'd experienced none of this, and continued a bit further. "Root beer floats. They're glasses of root beer with ice cream in the glass. Usually Vanilla. Best on a hot day." He took a sip of his own drink. He was right, it was citrus, just like he hoped.

"Oh." Namine took another sip, and looked over at the food. Sadly there was no ice cream. "Maybe we should make one sometimes--this is good." It was, too (once she got used to it).

[Uh-oh, the rumor mill strikes! X3 Pinkie might comment, in a "yay people are finding their friends! XD XD XD" sort of way. Also, no prizes for guessing what my favorite kind of soda is. ;)]

"Did someone say ROOT BEER FLOATS?"

Suddenly, Pinkie was there. With ice cream. "Root beer floats are totally the best way to drink root beer!" she advised Namine. "I mean, pretty much everything is better when you put ice cream in it, and maybe frosting and sprinkles too! Oh, and chocolate chips, those go with everything!" Luckily, all she had was vanilla ice cream, which she promptly offered the two, glancing between them curiously. Ooooooh, they looked like such a cute couple together! "Is this your friend, Riku? I'm so happy you found her!"

Namine was a bit startled at the pony's sudden appearance, but relaxed when she realized it was the same pony who had invited everybody. What was her name--Pinkie Pie?

"Thank you." She smiled as she accepted the ice cream. After adding some to what remained of her root beer, she poured more in and looked for the other things Pinkie had mentioned. Frosting was for cake, wasn't it? Sprinkles might be good, though, and there were some chocolate chips.

She was so caught up in making her drink and looking for a spoon (there were only the plastic kind that looked like they might snap if you tried to do anything with them) that she didn't hear Pinkie's question to Riku.

It was the pink pony again. ...Nope, she really didn't stop talking.

He looked down at his glass. It was still pretty full, but then again, floats could be made with almost any kind of soda. "Thanks." He held up his glass for a scoop and began to glance around a bit for a spoon himself.

Riku hesitated ever so slightly at the question, taking a sip of soda from his float. He'd never thought about it, but he wouldn't call her just an "ally" either. "Yeah. ...We've been friends for about a year." Still, he was glad to see her safe, too.
