Getting to Know You~

Characters: Pinkie and everyone else!
Content: Meet and greet party! Get to know your fellow SoL'ers! THREADJACK EVERYTHING
Location: Deck 4
Time of Day: Next...Monday Evening, A.D.? o.0
Warnings: Sugar and hyperactivity

A few minutes ago, the following message went out over the Cambot network:

YOU'RE INVITED!

Welcome to the Satellite Party! Right now on Deck 4!

Come get to know everyone and make new friends! Refreshments will be provided! Everyone welcome!

Even though she hasn't had very long to get the party ready, Pinkie's still somehow found time to completely furnish Deck 4 with tablecloths, balloons, and streamers. She's already found the media deck, too; there's a hastily gathered collection of party music. There's also a punch bowl, a sheet cake that reads "SATELLITE OF PARTY", and some cupcakes, just in case the first cake isn't big enough for everyone. The pony herself is standing by the door wearing a party hat and nearly vibrating in her excitement to greet her guests. Despite her efforts, she's fairly sure she hasn't met everypony on the Satellite yet, but she totally will now! And everyone will make friends with each other, and the Satellite will be 500% awesomer!

His soda was more than half finished, after all...

Speaking of, he took another swallow and paused with his drink at his lips. He slowly lowered his glass. "Earth? ...This is just stuff I picked up in Traverse Town."

[identity profile] itsjustthebots.livejournal.com 2011-09-08 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
How did this kid not know about Earth? Crow was under the impression that most kids were from Earth. "Traverse Town? Never hearda that place. Is it in Wisconsin?"

Tom piped in with his own thoughts. "That does sound like a Wisconsin town. 'Come on down to Crazy Days Sidewalk Sale at Traverse Town'."

[identity profile] halfdarkened.livejournal.com 2011-09-08 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
"...No, and I've never heard of Wisconsin." Well, these guys were definitely weird. "And it wasn't a sidewalk sale, either." He wondered what they'd think about Sora's clothes coming from fairies... But that was something he'd let Sora take care of, probably.

[identity profile] itsjustthebots.livejournal.com 2011-09-08 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
Tom was still determined to figure out where that look had come from, just because it was very weird. Er...weirder than he imagined, anyway. "Hot Topic then, right? That's what all the kids were wearing!"

"Yeah, back in the Nineties," Crow muttered.

[identity profile] halfdarkened.livejournal.com 2011-09-08 02:01 pm (UTC)(link)
For the firs time in his life, he was talking to robots, beings he'd only known in videogames, movies and comics. And they were fixated on his clothes? None of what they were saying made sense, still.

"Hot topic? ...Okay, look, I really don't get why my clothes would be a hot topic. If other guys want to make a statement with this look, fine, but I'm not."

[identity profile] itsjustthebots.livejournal.com 2011-09-08 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"Ohh, you're makin' a statement, all right," Crow said. Sheesh, kids could be so weird! Not that he really knew; he'd never been a kid, and neither had Mike or Joel. But it was easy enough to assume.

Tom, not having useable arms, was especially fascinated by Riku's wrist band! "Like that sock on your arm! What a great idea! Why, if my arms were big enough, I'd wear socks on them all the time."

[identity profile] halfdarkened.livejournal.com 2011-09-09 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
"And what would that be?" He downed the last of his soda, looking unamused. He glanced over, contemplating getting more.

The talking gum-ball machine/drink dispenser was delusional. "It's a wrist band. ...And why?"

[identity profile] itsjustthebots.livejournal.com 2011-09-09 08:36 am (UTC)(link)
"That would be 'I'm dressing this way and I don't even care if the gym teacher yells at me for it!'" declared Crow.

Wristband, schmistband. Tom liked it much better thinking it was a sock. "Well why not? Everyone's always wearing socks on their feet. Socks are too comfy to restrict to just your feet!"

Crow happened to notice that his soda was empty. "Heeey, your drinks all gone! How would you like a nice Hawaiian punch?" He nodded in the direction of Tom's head.

[identity profile] halfdarkened.livejournal.com 2011-09-10 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
"Guess that's true, but I don't care if anyone yells at me for it, period." Riku had a lot better things to worry about than other people's taste in clothes.

Riku slowly raised his brows. This really was nuts. "...If I find some baby socks laying around somewhere, I'll be sure to tell you."

Wait, so that wasn't some sort of fuel in that robot's head? ...Then again, what fuel was pink? ...Then again considering these wise guys.. Riku gave Tom a strange look, as he began to switch the concept of Tom being a conversationalist to a drink dispenser. Still, considering how wacky this ship was, he figured he'd better get used to it. With a shrug, he replied, "Sure."

[identity profile] itsjustthebots.livejournal.com 2011-09-10 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
That was satisfactory enough of a reply for Crow, even if Riku did not quite catch his ribbing. There was always next time, at least.

"All right!" Tom declared. Crow would be so jealous if he got arm socks before he did.

"Oooookay then! YOU asked for it!" Crow replied, nearly snickering. Since Tom's arms obviously didn't work, Crow got a cup and poured some of the punch from Tom's head into it before offering it to Riku.

[identity profile] halfdarkened.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
Whether Riku caught the ribbing or decided to simply ignore it was a decent question.

Christmas is going to be easy. Was he really serious?

Riku took the cup and just stared at the two robots for a moment. "Why do I have a bad feeling about this?" he asked no one, not caring if the robots heard. He looked down at his drink a moment before taking a drink.

About one swallow got down his throat before his eyes widened. He spat out everything else, coughing. It burns! It was like he'd taken a drink from hot cocoa before letting it cool... But the temperature wasn't there. To make things worse, it just tasted weird. "What was that?!"

[identity profile] itsjustthebots.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Bah-HAHAHAHAHA!" both the bots burst into laughter, pleased that their prank had gotten someone so quick. Of course, this was probably an indication that they weren't very good at spiking punch, if you could taste it right away. That didn't matter if they got reactions like this!

"That was a Juicy Lucy, that's what that was!" Crow said once his laugh died down a bit.

"Excellent spittake! I give it a 9.2," Tom added.

[identity profile] halfdarkened.livejournal.com 2011-09-15 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
"A Juicy what?!" Riku sputtered amongst wheezing coughs. He ignored the spittake comment entirely, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. ...What do you know, that wristband was good for something. "Was that... Was that spiked?"

Whether it was affecting his brain or whether psychology was taking hold, Riku didn't feel good.

[identity profile] itsjustthebots.livejournal.com 2011-09-15 07:22 am (UTC)(link)
"A Juicy Lucy! You know, a spittake!" Crow said. Joel had taught them all about the art of the spittake, after all...he had to teach them, since he had been the only one around with lips.

"Ohhh, relax! It was just a little bit of rum in there! Not gonna kill ya or anything!" Tom added. Surely, with the sort of places this kid had to have been, he would have encountered a little spiked punch before.

[identity profile] halfdarkened.livejournal.com 2011-09-16 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
Clearing his throat, Riku replied, "That's a new one for me."

Riku looked annoyed, still coughing a little. "No, it won't, but you know I'm sixteen, right?" What, was the drinking age lower here? He rubbed his head.

[identity profile] itsjustthebots.livejournal.com 2011-09-16 09:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh don't worry, we can teach you all about the art of the spittake! Although you've got a pretty good start already!" Tom said. Spittaking 101 was essential to classic comedy, after all.

This was a first...a teenager concerned about being of age. "Oh, really?" Crow replied. "Don't worry, we won't tell anyone!"

[identity profile] halfdarkened.livejournal.com 2011-09-18 07:34 am (UTC)(link)
"The term, not spittakes. And trust me, I'm good." He couldn't remember when his last spittake had been, if ever, and he wanted to keep it that way.

Leave it to Riku to be mature for his age. "Not really worried about people knowing I did." That being said, a smirk crept up his cheek as he replied. "Besides, you're the one who just serves alcohol to a minor."

[identity profile] itsjustthebots.livejournal.com 2011-09-18 10:34 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh well, gotta be prepared and all!" Tom said with a bit of a shrug. "Let us know if you ever want more practice!" He'd probably turn that down -Mike had, too- but it never hurt to ask.

"Hey, it's not like you're gonna be driving home, buddy!" Crow joked. "And we're just used to Mike being up here. Kids're different!"

[identity profile] halfdarkened.livejournal.com 2011-09-20 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
"If I got a 9.2, I'm good." Yep, definitely turning that down. If dignity were health points, he just recieved a critical hit.

Riku just looked down at them. Emphasis on down. "Don't know if you noticed, but I'm not a kid anymore."

[identity profile] itsjustthebots.livejournal.com 2011-09-20 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
Both bots seemed to agree that that was quite good enough for now. At least they'd gotten one person with the spiked punch! Although Crow wanted to see what would've happened if that pink pony drank it.

Ahh right, kids were always wanting to say they were older. "Well, you know. In comparison to Mike, at least!" Crow said.

"How old is Mike, anyway? Sixty-something?" Tom asked. His question could have been either genuine or a joke; sometimes it was hard to tell with the bots.

"Oh seventy at least," Crow replied in an equally could-have-been-joking fashion.

Sorry so short!

[identity profile] halfdarkened.livejournal.com 2011-09-26 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
Riku just raised an eyebrow at them. Were they serious? "Okay, older, yeah, but not that much older."

[identity profile] itsjustthebots.livejournal.com 2011-09-27 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
Sheesh! This kid was so serious.

"Really? You humans are so weird with your getting older and your puberty and your haircuts and all that," Crow said with a shrug.

[identity profile] halfdarkened.livejournal.com 2011-11-17 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
"...The going through puberty part, now that I could have done without..." he mumbled. Seemed like it was an awkward experience for any guy. However, considering these wise-guys...

"What, not into haircuts?" he smirked. "You can't feel the wind in your hair. And the ladies. Ladies like a guy with hair." Let's see where this goes.

[identity profile] itsjustthebots.livejournal.com 2011-11-17 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh believe me, I don't envy you kids that!" Crow said. All of Joel and Mike's attempts to explain hormones to them had pretty much gone in one ear and out the other. It just sounded weird and kind of icky.

"The ladies may like a guy with hair, but they also like a sleek chrooome body!" Tom bragged. "You may have those L'oreal locks, but I bet you wish you had a build like this!"
