[Pinkie's announcement after Discord's defeat wasn't just hot air. As soon as five minutes after the chaos god's last cry echoed throughout the ship, there's already music blaring out the open doors of the recreation deck. As if in defiance of Discord's attack on her there, Pinkie's filled the place with even MORE balloons than typical for one of her parties. Above the main refreshment table - which is clearly the one with the biggest cake on it - there's a few banners. The topmost one reads SO LONG DISCORD! Right below it is a smaller one saying SORRY FOR BEING A MEANIE. The bottom one is a little larger and written in a different color HAPPY LATE HEARTS AND HOOVES DAY! In all the chaos, she'd completely FORGOTTEN a holiday; could you believe it? But she was totally going to make it up now, with a party to beat all parties!]

"Let's try it then."

She cued up the song, then moved a bit away from the machine to have room to move.

Fortunately, it started out slowly.

MakubeX smiled. This wouldn't be so bad at all. He offered his hand. Might as well do this properly.

"So... May I have this dance?"

Xion was a bit surprised by the change in manner, but went along with it. She accepted the offered hand and smiled.

"Of course."

He gave a short bow and led. He had never danced to this kind of music before, but he found himself moving in time, performing steps he was sure he'd never learned.

She followed, planning to watch his steps carefully. It was easier than she'd thought, especially since she'd never even heard this kind of music before, much less danced to it. It was almost as if she remembered the steps somehow, though she'd never learned any kind of dancing.

He almost didn't notice when the tempo began to pick up. He continued on, comfortable as before, and reached for her other hand.

She took the offered hand, and not missing a beat or step, kept up with the change in tempo. Though she moved with the same ease she had before, keeping up with the new pace took more of her attention.

Then all of a sudden the music stopped, and she stood, smiling as she tried to catch her breath.

MakubeX stood for a moment, smiling as well. Then, without really thinking, he pulled her into a hug.

Xion stood stock-still in surprise for a moment. Then, slowly she returned the hug; a bit clumsily, as if not sure where her arms went.

"Ah, s-sorry... I was just... you know... in the moment... and..."

He buried his suddenly-quite-warm face in her shoulder.

Xion's face was rather warm too, as she tried to process the whole situation and think of what to do. She was getting the whole "hug" thing down, though, and maintained her hold as she spoke.

"It's okay..."

"You're sure...?" he asked. Well, he didn't push him away. That was a good sign, at least.

Xion was surprised and maybe a bit confused, yes, but that wasn't enough to cause her to push him away. It was, however, enough to make her determine that they might want to move to even a slightly more private location. "Why don't we sit back down again?"

She shifted enough to begin guiding him back to the seats they'd left.

"Oh, r-right..." He stepped back when she moved, following her back to the seats. "That was fun."

"It was." She smiled as she sat down, then looked concerned. "Though...Are you okay?"

"Yes, I'm fine. Thank you."

She nodded, accepting what he said at face value. Unable to think of much more to say at the moment, she simply kept him company, watching the crowd to see who else was arriving.
