[Pinkie's announcement after Discord's defeat wasn't just hot air. As soon as five minutes after the chaos god's last cry echoed throughout the ship, there's already music blaring out the open doors of the recreation deck. As if in defiance of Discord's attack on her there, Pinkie's filled the place with even MORE balloons than typical for one of her parties. Above the main refreshment table - which is clearly the one with the biggest cake on it - there's a few banners. The topmost one reads SO LONG DISCORD! Right below it is a smaller one saying SORRY FOR BEING A MEANIE. The bottom one is a little larger and written in a different color HAPPY LATE HEARTS AND HOOVES DAY! In all the chaos, she'd completely FORGOTTEN a holiday; could you believe it? But she was totally going to make it up now, with a party to beat all parties!]

Namine nodded in agreement. "It makes sense--I hadn't thought about that."

She wasn't sure what to make of Discord either; he didn't fit into any personality type that she'd met before. Then there was the fact that he'd kept his powers, while none of them had, and his ability to affect personalities...Even she herself hadn't been able to do that, no matter how she'd shifted Sora's (or the Replica's) memories.

He was gone now, though, and this was a party. "It was nice of Pinkie to do all this."

"I have noticed that Pinkie enjoys doing this a lot. Normally I would not saying living to party is a good thing, but Pinkie does put a great deal of effort into each one she throws." Kaldur could tell Pinkie liked to do it and it was a nice gesture to try to remember everyone's birthdays and put something together for all the holidays. Everyone here was missing their families and friends and the parties were a nice way to put that aside sometimes.

"Though I am glad it is for more than Valentines or Hearts and Hooves Day."

"I'd never been to a party before I got here, but I'm starting to think they're nice every so often, and Pinkie plans good ones. " Namine would agree that partying all the time could get old, she'd enjoy the ones that she'd been to. "I think she mentioned they're her special talent."

It was good to have someone around to remember all those things. She was just starting to realize how important they could be to people, and was beginning to think she should find out all her friends birthdays. It wouldn't be nice to let one go by without realizing it. Holidays seemed fun, too, but she was just starting to learn about them.

"Really? Why?" It seemed like a nice idea.

"Oh? I had not been to many either." It was more of a "he liked to keep to himself" thing in his case. Granted, he had been to a few parties. A going-away party in Atlantis and a few events that Aquaman was invited to that he brought him along. He supposed birthday parties counted among his team, but no one had celebrated one yet.

He sighed, "Valentine's is not really a holiday celebrated where I am from, though I am familiar with its practices. I suppose the meaning makes me think of lost love more so than anything." Tula. It always came back to her. He was over her, mostly. The fact that she had chosen Garth was answer enough. That did not make it any less painful.

"There weren't any chances for me to go." Between being virtually held prisoner/used as a subject of study and then being on the run from the Organization, parties had never been an option. Namine hadn't really minded, but it had been a "can't miss what you never had" situation.

She wasn't that familiar with Valentine's Day herself; while she knew what it was from Sora's memories, she'd never celebrated it. Love required having a heart, after all, and from what Kaldur said it didn't always turn out as well as in the stories. Not quite sure what to say, she had to make do with her best sympathetic look.

He fell silent for a moment, but upon seeing Namine's look of sympathy he realized he had probably said the wrong thing at a party. Normally he wasn't so open or glum about these things but it was difficult not to be when having a party about love.

"I am sorry. I did not intend to ruin the mood for you as well."

"You didn't, but we can talk about something else if you'd rather." Namine understood about topics that were sensitive. Trying to think of a good potential subject, she happened to glance over at the refreshment table. "Have you tried any of the snacks, yet? They're good."

He nodded. Talking about the past would not change things and it wasn't going to help feeling bad for himself either. He was over this and he wasn't sure why he kept returning to the notion of Tula. Perhaps first loves were just difficult to get over.

"Not yet. Though if Pinkie made them I have no doubt that they are." He smiled and walked with Namine over to the snack table. He started selecting a few of the items onto a plate.

The past may be unchangeable, but that didn't mean the memories created were any less powerful or painful. Namine knew that better than most, which was probably why she was so willing to let the subject drop.

"I don't know how she does it, but everything she makes tastes good." Having already tried a few things, Namine only chose a cookie for herself, but waited while he made his selections.

"Agreed." He said simply. He had a few cookies and some potato chips, but he was not particularly hungry. He started eating as he stood near the table.
