[Pinkie's announcement after Discord's defeat wasn't just hot air. As soon as five minutes after the chaos god's last cry echoed throughout the ship, there's already music blaring out the open doors of the recreation deck. As if in defiance of Discord's attack on her there, Pinkie's filled the place with even MORE balloons than typical for one of her parties. Above the main refreshment table - which is clearly the one with the biggest cake on it - there's a few banners. The topmost one reads SO LONG DISCORD! Right below it is a smaller one saying SORRY FOR BEING A MEANIE. The bottom one is a little larger and written in a different color HAPPY LATE HEARTS AND HOOVES DAY! In all the chaos, she'd completely FORGOTTEN a holiday; could you believe it? But she was totally going to make it up now, with a party to beat all parties!]

If Ven thought that now, it's a good thing he didn't know her when she was stuck in Castle Oblivion with the Organization, or working with Riku and DiZ.

"We are, aren't we?" Even then, though, nobody was quite from the same moment in time as the others.

He would not have let that stand. Ven fully believed in smiles, after all. Friends weren't allowed to be unhappy around him.

And he folded his hands behind his head again, shrugging just a bit. "We are, but that doesn't mean it's bad. It's just a chance to meet more people, right?"

Namine smiled.. "It is. I haven't gotten to know Terra and Aqua very well, yet, but they seem nice."

If there was anything guaranteed to launch him into a happy bliss, it was mentioning his family. Ven loved his friends, and loved making friends, but those two had always been with him. They were a team, they were a family, and he grinned widely when she mentioned them.

"They're the best - they're both really nice and smart, and they always try to help other people."

Yes, even after all of Terra's fuckups, he still believed wholeheartedly in his brother.

Namine had no family of her own, and not many friends, but she'd seen memories of what those were like. She smiled.

"They're lucky to have you, too, I think."

"And you are, too!" Ven was wearing a big smile at that pronouncement, because he knew this was true. "If you ever need help with anything, they'll help you. They're your friends too, Naminé - they'll always help you, because that's what friends do."

Welcome to his life philosophy.

Namine rather liked that philosophy.

She's still figuring out this whole "friends" thing, though, so she can't quite smile back with as much conviction, though she tries. "They've already been helping a little. Terra's been trying to get people together to train, and even though I can't use a Keyblade, they're still teaching me a little self-defense."

He'll fix that. Ven believed you could never have enough friends - and so far, he hasn't been proven wrong.

"That's great, but it's not just that - friends are there for each other through anything, not just physical stuff. If you're ever having a bad day or are scared about something, they'll help you, too. And me, I don't mind. It's always good to help your friends."

Namine was quickly learning the how nice having friends could be. She'd always had a vague idea from what she'd seen of Sora's memories, but experiencing it for herself was totally different. For example: Ven's confidence in his assertion that he, Terra, and Aqua, would be there for her was a little surprising.

"But...We barely know each other."

Ven folded his hands behind his head again, shrugging as he did so. "So? Maybe sometimes you're friends because you've known each other a long time, but you can be friends really quickly, too. Herc and I were friends right after we met, and so were me and Peter. It's not about how long you've known somebody, but how well you get along and want to hang out with them and get to know them better."

"In that case, I have a lot of friends and possible friends here." Namine smiled.

There was everyone from their world, and Kaldur, Liz, Hughes, and Sami--particularly if the "want to know them better" aspect was emphasized. For someone with as limited a social circle as she was used to, that was a lot. Come to think of it, she'd become friends with most of them rather quickly. She couldn't say yet how well she'd get along with them in the long run, but for now, it was more than enough.

And Ven smiled as well when she did. It was pretty easy to tell that she didn't have a lot of experience with this before coming here, but it was also nice to see that she liked the idea of having more friends.

"That's right - most people are friendly, and like being with others. Maybe we're stuck up here, but we've got a pretty great group to be stuck with, right?"

Namine really did enjoy having new friends. She didn't know enough people to make generalizations such as Ven's, but she could agree with part of his statement.

"We really do. Most everyone's nice."
