Do you see what I see?
Characters: Aqua and Terra
Content: Date night!
Location: Wherever would be suited to a date
Time of day: Dinner time, Christmas
Warnings: Sap and awkwardness, most likely
To say Aqua was nervous would have been an understatement. Even knowing that Terra was perfectly willing to accept her, planning something and actually doing were two vastly different things. The fact that she still didn't entirely know what she was doing didn't help matters either. It was only the fact the Terra was going to be just as lost as she was that kept her from giving into whim and running as far and as fast as she could. She hadn't even really had a chance to see if there were any relevant books in the library.
But she could probably muddle her way through things. She would have to. Someone would have to act as a pillar and she wasn't exactly sure Terra was not to manage. So with one last deep breath, and a final check to make sure her dress was arranged properly (it was, not surprisingly) she headed off to where she and Terra were supposed to be meeting. Waiting wasn't going to solve anything, here.

So, eventually, he managed to be a little less spastic about the conversation. And, if nothing else, the food was decent. Before too long he noticed that both his plate and Aqua's was empty. He looked around, wondering what they were supposed to do next, when he noticed someone had left a C.D. player with speakers in a corner of the room.
Seeing it, he remembered a ball he had been to not too long ago. There had been dancing then too. Maybe...maybe that's what he should do next.
Terra rose from his seat, "Hey Aqua, there's music here. Do you want to dance?" He paused, looking back towards her, "That is, most people do that on dates right?"

Besides, what else was a lovely dress for?
"I'd love to," she answered with a smile. "I mean, the music's here, right? We might as well use it."

Besides, if nothing else it was a matter of moving in circles while he held Aqua and NOT stepping on her feet.
The music started to fill the room and Terra held his hand out to Aqua.

Once the music started, she took Terra's hand gladly. There wasn't any better way to spend an evening, and she did rather like dancing.

The worries would return of course, they always did, but for now he could just appreciate the fact that Aqua was light on her feet and dancing with him like they had when they were younger.
He lost track of time but after awhile the cd stopped playing and he drifted to a stop in their dancing. He looked down at Aqua. Terra had begun the night on very uncertain terms, not knowing what to do with himself or anything but now he had regained his confidence and he knew, without a doubt, what he needed to do next.
Terra reached down, cupping his hand against Aqua's cheek and followed through by leaning down and kissing her.

And then before she knew it the CD had stopped playing. It was almost a shame to have to stop, but as Terra slowed to a stop so did she. She wasn't going to force him to bend to her wishes no matter how much she wanted to keep dancing.
What she hadn't expected, however, was Terra bending down and kissing her. But even with it being unexpected is was quite possibly the best ending to the evening, and after a slight pause, she leaned in to return the kiss. Now everything was properly done.
