Rockin' Around The Charlie Brown Christmas Tree [OPEN]

Characters: Anyone and everyone!
Content: Get your Christmas Party on!
Location: The Weapons Deck
Time of day: Evening of Christmas Day, after people have gotten presents
Warnings: None...for now...

[Since the Weapons Deck is totally empty, Mike and the Bots have taken it upon themselves to transform it for a rockin’ good Christmas Party! The Charlie Brown Tree has been safely set aside too; all decorated up. There’s a table with punch, food and way too many desserts for any group of people to handle, a bunch of Christmas decorations thanks to Rarity and her decorating crew, and even Christmas music that’s only slightly annoying!

Characters are free to come in and grab food, mingle, play games, exchange gifts or stories...whatever they want! Obviously, treat this thread as party-style.

There’s one more special note...there’s a couple bowls of punch sitting next to a big pan of Green Bean Casserole of Tranquility. Unfortunately, Crow accidentally mixed in some leftover Waters of Forgetfulness to make the punch. That water, combined with the spicy punch flavoring, has created an unusual concoction. If your characters drink some of this punch, they won’t notice anything wrong...at least yet!]

Xion unsuccessfully tried to stifle a smile. "How have you been?"

She hoped he was settling in okay.

[ooc: short tag is short, but this is what she's got at the moment.]

"I've been okay, I guess." Which was mostly true. Weirdness of his situation aside, he was fine.

Xion needn't have worried. While the situation took some adapting, he was doing said adapting well enough.

"Good." Xion hadn't been worried so much as concerned--just hoping her friend was doing okay. She'd wanted to go find him, but had thought things might be a bit awkward.

Which they seem to have become now. Without a further conversation topic, she lapsed into silence.

Awkward seems to be par for the course for Roxas lately. And at the moment, he preferred silence over some of the thing he otherwise wanted to talk about. It was heavy stuff and just didn't seem right to bring up when they were supposed to be having fun.

Unfortunately, awkward silence tended to make Roxas fidgety and he found himself scrounging for something to talk about that didn't have the potential to be a downer.

"So, uh... are you having fun?" Lame, but it was a question he'd been asking and answering a lot already, so what was one more?

Xion wanted to talk about some of the same things Roxas did, most likely, but didn't want to bring them up in public. Thank goodness for standard conversation small talk. She was starting to wonder if maybe she should give him some space.

"I think so. The food is good." Then she hit on something she could ask him. "But what do you think of the punch?"

That question was a little out of the blue, but he supposed it made sense. It was definitely a better topic than things that really should be discussed at a party anyway.

"I haven't tried it and I don't I'm going to. I've heard a few too many stories about weird things people might do to it..." Especially where magic was concerned, but as far as he could tell so far, magic didn't work on this satellite. Then again, he hadn't been there very long, so who knew for sure?

Yes, it was a bit out of the blue, but it was what Xion could think of that was something they could talk about here.

"I don't think I will. I've heard some stories, too." Most of them were probably the same ones Roxas remembered, and a few of those had nothing to do with magic. Which meant anybody on the satellite could try them. Not to be mean, but there were people here who would see it as a fun joke.

"That's probably for the best..." Of course, there was also the fact that Roxas had heard some of these stories from the point of view of the one who had done the tampering. In which case, it was a gleeful account of a prank well played.

At least none of the people he'd heard these stories from was present... sort of. He had his suspicions about Lea and Isa since hearing that some people had been brought from the past, but he hadn't had a chance yet to discuss it with anyone and that was something else best left out of a party anyway.

Xion nodded. Some of the members of the Organization had been happy to recount their pranks, some of which sounded funny, but tampering with food was a little much.

She'd spoken to Lea and Isa, and would be able to confirm Roxas's suspicions at a better time to do so. Right now, though, it looked like they needed something else to talk about. "Too bad there's no sea-salt ice cream. I've found out how to get it from the cafeteria."

They did need to have a serious talk time. Actually, heRoxas needed to have some serious conversations with a few people, such as Sora and Namine. And possibly Riku. If he was dragged from the same time Sora was, then that was before they'd had a chance to work out that they really didn't want to be quarreling and upsetting Sora with their quarreling. There was also a nagging feeling that somehow, Terra reminded Roxas of someone. Superficially. And the fact that Terra, Aqua, Lea and Isa had all mistaken him for someone else. Someone they were apparently all friends with. That bothered Roxas more than a little, especially if Lea was who Roxas thought he was...

But he was perfectly willing to forget all that, at least for the moment, when ice cream was mentioned, "Hmm... yeah, that would have been nice. Oh well, there's still plenty of good stuff here."

Xion wanted to talk to Terra and Aqua as well. For some reason they seemed familiar, though she couldn't say why. At least she'd come to an understanding with Sora, Riku, Lea, and Isa--though those conversations hadn't been pleasant. At some point she and Roxas would have to have a more serious talk, yes, but for now she was trying to enjoy being with a best friend she'd been almost sure she wouldn't see again.

"There is." She nodded, taking a bite of a cupcake.

Yeah, Roxas needed to eventually talk to everyone as well. Especially Xion, for reason he'd already mulled over in his head too many times today. But, party. He was determined to at least keep his heavy thoughts to himself for now. He had to admit, spending time with Xion did feel like reconnecting with an old friend and he already knew that much of his fuzzy memory of his time with the Organization seemed to be connected to her. Maybe he could find out what exactly was missing.

He felt better with that thought and settled into companionable silence for the moment, nibbling on some cookies.

There were many things to talk about, but for right now this was nice. It wasn't exactly like old times, but close enough that Xion was feeling better than she had since she arrived on the satellite. Thinking of that time led her to another thought.

"Have you explored the satellite much. I could show you where things are." She brushed cupcake crumbs off her hands as she spoke.

"No, I haven't, really," Roxas replied honestly, "I was thinking of looking around tomorrow, but... hmm. Yeah, that would be a good idea."

Not that he was worried about getting lost, since it seemed like it was easy enough to poke Cambot in order to as for help on the network, but it seemed like it might be more fun to ask someone to show him around.

"Why don't we meet up tomorrow, then? I can give you a tour."

It was easy to use Cambot to ask for help, but it was better to have someone with you that knew where everything was--including the spots to avoid.

He smiled at that, "Sounds like a plan."

It hadn't occurred to him yet that there were other reasons to have someone show him around... such as places he might want to stay away from.

((OoC: Do we want to log this? It could also be their serious talk time that they ought to have.))

"Great. When do you want to meet?"

No place on the ship was that dangerous really, but someone had to teach Roxas how to get past the Tom Servo deck.

((Logging sounds great. They can catch up on Serious Stuff while looking around the ship.))

"Hmm. Depends on how early in the morning you want to get up, I guess." Which might be somewhat early for Roxas because old habits die hard and the Organization had gotten him used to early mornings... much to Sora's annoyance. But that had been one of the things they'd been working out when Roxas had somehow been extracted from Sora's heart this time around.

Whether dangerous or just annoying, if it was worth knowing how to avoid it, then Roxas wanted to know how to avoid it.

"I'm okay with getting up early. Want to meet for breakfast and then start out? Like around 8:00?" Xion was used to getting up early, too, for most of the same reasons as Roxas. Being on the satellite hadn't really changed her habits.

Xion would definitely warn him about whatever required warning. There was fun stuff, too, that she could show him--like the nature deck.

"Sure, that'll work."

Roxas would likely end up appreciating the decision to go with someone rather than exploring alone, for a number of reason, but the only reason he was really thinking of at the moment was that it was just more fun than going alone.

"Okay, I'll see you then."

It would definitely be more fun than going alone. Xion wished she'd had someone to help her when she first got here--the way Roxas had in the Organization. Getting to help him now is nice, though.
