[Since the Weapons Deck is totally empty, Mike and the Bots have taken it upon themselves to transform it for a rockin’ good Christmas Party! The Charlie Brown Tree has been safely set aside too; all decorated up. There’s a table with punch, food and way too many desserts for any group of people to handle, a bunch of Christmas decorations thanks to Rarity and her decorating crew, and even Christmas music that’s only slightly annoying!

Characters are free to come in and grab food, mingle, play games, exchange gifts or stories...whatever they want! Obviously, treat this thread as party-style.

There’s one more special note...there’s a couple bowls of punch sitting next to a big pan of Green Bean Casserole of Tranquility. Unfortunately, Crow accidentally mixed in some leftover Waters of Forgetfulness to make the punch. That water, combined with the spicy punch flavoring, has created an unusual concoction. If your characters drink some of this punch, they won’t notice anything wrong...at least yet!]

MakubeX nodded. "I understand that. What do you think of it?"

"I..." Xion paused to consider his question.

What did she think? The party seemed like it would be fun, with the sweets and so many people to talk to. She'd spoken to Roxas, and was hoping to find Sora and Riku, too. On the other hand, it was a little overwhelming. She'd barely met most of the people here, and she wasn't quite sure what to say if she did approach them, apart from "hello"

"...I wish I knew what to do." Her voice was quieter than usual, but steady. She was pretty sure MakubeX wouldn't mock her for admitting she felt a little lost.

MakubeX nodded again. "It can be pretty intimidating. I suppose it all depends what you would like to do. It's a good opportunity to meet people, try new foods, or..." He cleared his throat and blushed faintly. "...we could dance."

Xion nodded as she considered the first two options--expected from what she knew of parties--but looked surprised at the third, her cheeks reddening slightly. "Oh! That would be nice, but I'm not sure I know how to...And wouldn't we need music?"

Not to mention Demyx had said you only danced with someone if they were special...but friends were special, right?

"Well, there is a little bit, coming from over there." He nodded towards where the Christmas music was coming in the best. "And it isn't great music to dance to, really, but it is often part of a party and I though that, perhaps, you would like to give it a try."

"I think I would...but, sorry if I make too many mistakes." She'd never really learned how to dance. There was that one time that she'd found Demyx playing for some of his Dancers, and they'd whirled her around while he played. It didn't count as a lesson or practice, though.

If MakubeX didn't mind teaching her...She held out her hand.

"It's fine. I haven't had much practice myself," he said, taking her hand. He had tended to keep to himself whenever the VOLTS had thrown parties, but he had saved a dance or two for Sakura.

"There isn't much to it when it's just for fun."

It was a relief for Xion to hear that dancing for fun wasn't that complicated, and that MakubeX was at about the same level of skill she was. Still, he had more experience than she did so she was planning to follow his lead.

"Okay, how do we start?"

Fortunately, the current song was rather upbeat. MakubeX reached out for Xion's other hand, swinging them in time.

"Really, like this, you just... move with the rhythm."

"Rhythm" wasn't a concept Xion had really learned, but she started to catch the idea as she tried to match MakubeX's movements.

"Like this?"

"Exactly. Now try moving your feet. Everything else will follow." He demonstrated, starting to sway.

Xion did as he said, pleasantly surprised that she was catching on so quickly. "This isn't as hard as I thought!"

"There are different types and all, but this is as much as I really know," MakubeX said. "And, of course, things change with slower songs."

"Really? How?" Xion's interest was piqued. "I wonder if I could learn some of the other types..."

"I'm sure we could learn others. There's bound to be instructional materials around here someplace. Or others might know. I'll look into it. As for slow songs y-..."

Naturally, the song changed to a something slower.

"...well, I suppose I can show you, if you'd like."

"O-Okay." Xion hadn't expected the music to change so quickly. Still, this was a good chance to learn, and later she could look to see if there were any books on dancing.

Knowing the satellite, there wouldn't be any GOOD books, but there might be something.

Really, Sakura was the only female MakubeX had ever danced with. He knew what to do, but couldn't help but be a tad nervous. Maybe it was because he knew Sakura wouldn't have cared if he'd accidentally stepped on her toes?

"First, this hand goes on my shoulder. And mine... ah..." He gestured awkwardly at her side. "...if you don't mind."

Xion wouldn't have been upset if he stepped on her toes--as likely as she was to step on his, they'd probably end up even on that account. Any nervousness on her part was due to the newness of the situation and wanting to not slip up.

"Oh! No, it's okay." Her face reddened a bit as they shifted position. She hadn't realized slow dancing meant being so close.

Just in case, MakubeX kept his touch light.

"And now, same as before, keep time. I'll lead."

She nodded and focused on mirroring his movements. Slowly it became easier and she started to relax a little.

"This isn't that hard..Are other dances more difficult?"

"Some can be quite complex," he said, "but there are some... sillier ones that are quite simple."

"I see." It made sense that there would be a variety when she thought about it, she just hadn't until now.

"Well, at least we have plenty of time to learn, right?"

"Right. Probably enough time to learn and practice."

MakubeX chuckled. "Definitely. We'll have to take ice cream breaks, too."
