Rockin' Around The Charlie Brown Christmas Tree [OPEN]

Characters: Anyone and everyone!
Content: Get your Christmas Party on!
Location: The Weapons Deck
Time of day: Evening of Christmas Day, after people have gotten presents
Warnings: None...for now...

[Since the Weapons Deck is totally empty, Mike and the Bots have taken it upon themselves to transform it for a rockin’ good Christmas Party! The Charlie Brown Tree has been safely set aside too; all decorated up. There’s a table with punch, food and way too many desserts for any group of people to handle, a bunch of Christmas decorations thanks to Rarity and her decorating crew, and even Christmas music that’s only slightly annoying!

Characters are free to come in and grab food, mingle, play games, exchange gifts or stories...whatever they want! Obviously, treat this thread as party-style.

There’s one more special note...there’s a couple bowls of punch sitting next to a big pan of Green Bean Casserole of Tranquility. Unfortunately, Crow accidentally mixed in some leftover Waters of Forgetfulness to make the punch. That water, combined with the spicy punch flavoring, has created an unusual concoction. If your characters drink some of this punch, they won’t notice anything wrong...at least yet!]

"But how can you tell they look like they want to talk?" It sounded like one of those things that was more easily said than done.

She smiled at his question, though. "Roxas and I talked."

[identity profile] optimistickey.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
Sora hadn't thought much about that, either, as it usually went. He didn't know if he was good at reading emotions, or if he just took chances and hoped for the best. "Well...go up and ask them! And if they don't want to, they'll tell you or you can see right away that they look uncomfortable. But most of the time, they do wanna talk."

That was good, at least. They probably needed to talk, although what two Nobodies like them would talk about, Sora wasn't sure. After his conversation with Xion, perhaps it was better if he didn't know.

[identity profile] colorbymemory.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
Namine mulled that over for a moment. It seemed logical, though she wouldn't want to make anyone uncomfortable or have them tell her they didn't want to talk. She'd have to think some more, maybe spend some more time watching. Then she could learn how to tell if someone wanted to talk. The idea that most people would want to was encouraging. "Thanks. I'll have to try it."

There was plenty she and Roxas--or she and Xion--could talk about, but that wasn't for now. She'd rather to handle that on her own, anyway.

"Okay, good!" Sora said. It seemed strange that all of these people that had come from him and Kairi (were there really that many?) all seemed to be so shy in comparison. But he supposed there were different circumstances all around it, too.

"Oh, and what'd you get from Santa, too?"

[identity profile] colorbymemory.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
There were definitely circumstances that contributed to Namine and the others' shyness. That said, most of them were only shy until you knew them better. Namine was pretty sure all she needed was a little practice.

Her expression brightened a bit at Sora's question. "I got some new art supplies--good ones, too. The ones on the theatrical deck break so easily."

[identity profile] optimistickey.livejournal.com 2012-01-01 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
That's right, Namine really liked drawing. Sora smiled back at seeing her face light up...she really did share a lot of Kairi's traits in some ways. "That's good! I wanna see what you draw with them!"

"Santa got me this plush dog and duck!" Sora said, thankful that Santa had actually remembered him (and forgiven him for not believing in him.) While obviously it wasn't the same as having Donald and Goofy actually here, it was a bit of a nice reminder of their adventures.

[identity profile] colorbymemory.livejournal.com 2012-01-01 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Namine needed very little encouragement to draw, but it was always nice to have some. "Thanks. I'll make sure to show you, then."

She examined the plushies, smiling. Trust Santa to bring something Sora that might help him feel a bit closer to friends who weren't here. "They look a lot like them, don't they?"

[identity profile] optimistickey.livejournal.com 2012-01-01 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, I guess so." The duck was white with a yellow bill and the dog was black with floppy ears, anyway, so it seemed pretty close. If Donald and Goofy ever did show up on the ship, he intended to give them theirs each...Donald would likely throw a fit and say it looked nothing like him, but Goofy at least would be amused.

[identity profile] colorbymemory.livejournal.com 2012-01-02 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Would you like me to make clothes for them? They'd look even more like the real Donald and Goofy, that way."

She was still a beginner at sewing, but Galadriel had taught her the basics for clothes. Maybe she could ask Rarity to help her as well.

[identity profile] optimistickey.livejournal.com 2012-01-02 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Really? You can do that?" Sora asked. He didn't know that she could sew as well. On the one hand, it was a little bit strange to have toys of them here without them being here. But on the other, he could really give them plushies of themselves if they ever showed up, and it was kind of nice to have the reminder around in his room. "I think that'd be cool if you could!"

[identity profile] colorbymemory.livejournal.com 2012-01-03 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll see what I can do. Galadriel taught me a little--I think I can manage their outfits." It would be nice to be able to do something for Sora just because she wanted to, and not because she was repairing damage she caused.

[identity profile] optimistickey.livejournal.com 2012-01-03 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
"That'd be great, Namine! Thanks!" Sora replied. Namine didn't need to do that for him, but he appreciated the gesture anyway.

Sora took another drink of the punch, and a wide grin spread over his face. Having his friends here, it being Christmas...it just made him feel so excited and happy!

[identity profile] colorbymemory.livejournal.com 2012-01-05 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
"You're welcome. I'll let you know when I'm finished--though I may need to borrow the stuffed animals so I know what size to make everything."

Namine smiled in response to Sora's grin. Christmas had come and gone unnoticed while she was in Twilight Town, so it was nice to get a chance to celebrate it here.

[identity profile] optimistickey.livejournal.com 2012-01-05 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
"Sure, that's fine!" Sora trusted his things with Namine enough...after all, he'd trusted her enough to restore his memories for the year he'd been asleep.

Sora felt himself getting happier by the minute, for reasons he couldn't seem to explain. Everything about it was exciting! "So have you tried the punch yet? Or cookies! Or there's brownies, too!"

[identity profile] colorbymemory.livejournal.com 2012-01-06 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll pick them up tomorrow, then?"

Sora's happiness was a bit catching, and Namine found herself matching his grin with one of her own. "I've tried the cookies and brownies, but not the punch."

[identity profile] optimistickey.livejournal.com 2012-01-06 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Sure, that's fine!"

He took another drink from his own cup. "You should, it's really good!" The happiness was catching on even more and more...perhaps beyond even Sora's usual cheerfulness. As if to prove this point, he let out a quick burst of laughter.

[identity profile] colorbymemory.livejournal.com 2012-01-06 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"Okay. I'll let you know on Cambot before I come by."

Namine held up her cup of root beer to show why she hadn't tried the punch yet. "Maybe later."

Sora's laugh surprised her--she didn't think anything they'd said was that funny. Now that she thought about it, he was being more cheerful than usual. The fact that it was Christmas might explain some of that, but..."Sora, are you feeling okay?"
optimistickey: (Happy - Heeeee!)

[personal profile] optimistickey 2012-01-08 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
Sora just shrugged at the root beer...oh well, soda sounded pretty good to him, too. All of it sounded just great!

"Sure, I feel super! Why wouldn't I? It's Christmas!" he said, trying to hide another laugh. This was just such a great holiday, with his friends here and this food and atmosphere...he just wanted to do something with everyone!

"If you're sure that's all it is..." Namine frowned thoughtfully. True, she mostly knew Sora through his memories, but he seemed a little off. Riku would probably know better than her, but she couldn't see him anywhere.
optimistickey: (Happy - Heeeee!)

[personal profile] optimistickey 2012-01-10 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah! Come on, cheer up!" Sora said, nearly bouncing on his heels with some inexplicable excitement. At least, he couldn't think of any reason that he was this happy aside from the holiday and all of his friends around here. "What do you wanna do? Let's do something!"

[personal profile] colorbymemory 2012-01-11 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
This was definitely hyper even for Sora, and Namine wasn't quite sure what to do. She racked her brain for activities that wouldn't involve too much moving around, so that even if Sora got carried away, he wouldn't run into anybody. "Why don't...Why don't you teach me the words to some of those Christmas songs?"

It might be an odd suggestion, but even if they got loud, at least no one would get hurt. In fact, it might get the attention of someone who could help her.
optimistickey: (Happy - Runs on happy faces)

[personal profile] optimistickey 2012-01-11 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
"Okay! Sure! That'll be fun!" Sora declared, eager to get anything Christmas-related underway. He knew tons of Christmas songs! "Which ones do you know? Oh, let's just start with the easiest ones..."

And then Sora burst into song...using the full volume on his voice, as if he were singing to an audience in a theater rather than the person in front of him. "JINGLE BELLS! JINGLE BELLS! JINGLE ALL THE WAA-AAAY! OH WHAT FUN IT IS TO RIDE, IN A ONE-HORSE OPEN SLEE-IIGH!"

[personal profile] colorbymemory 2012-01-11 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
Namine winced a little at Sora's volume--she hadn't expected him to get that loud. Looking around to see who had noticed them, she started singing softly with him, though his voice drowned out hers.

"Jingle bells, jingle bells..."
optimistickey: (Happy - Yeah I'm awesome)

[personal profile] optimistickey 2012-01-11 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
Sora did not seem to even notice Namine wincing at how loud he was. Mostly, he was just wishing that she would match him, so that everyone could hear! He just continued on through the song, belting it out loud and clear.

"DASHING THROUGH THE SNOOOW -Come on, louder!- IN A ONE-HORSE OPEN SLEEEEIGH..."

[personal profile] colorbymemory 2012-01-11 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
The best thing to do at the moment seems to be to humor Sora, so Namine manages to get her voice up to at least its normal volume.

"O'er the fields we go, laughing all the way.."
