Rockin' Around The Charlie Brown Christmas Tree [OPEN]

Characters: Anyone and everyone!
Content: Get your Christmas Party on!
Location: The Weapons Deck
Time of day: Evening of Christmas Day, after people have gotten presents
Warnings: None...for now...

[Since the Weapons Deck is totally empty, Mike and the Bots have taken it upon themselves to transform it for a rockin’ good Christmas Party! The Charlie Brown Tree has been safely set aside too; all decorated up. There’s a table with punch, food and way too many desserts for any group of people to handle, a bunch of Christmas decorations thanks to Rarity and her decorating crew, and even Christmas music that’s only slightly annoying!

Characters are free to come in and grab food, mingle, play games, exchange gifts or stories...whatever they want! Obviously, treat this thread as party-style.

There’s one more special note...there’s a couple bowls of punch sitting next to a big pan of Green Bean Casserole of Tranquility. Unfortunately, Crow accidentally mixed in some leftover Waters of Forgetfulness to make the punch. That water, combined with the spicy punch flavoring, has created an unusual concoction. If your characters drink some of this punch, they won’t notice anything wrong...at least yet!]

Roxas gave a small smile at that. It was good she was having some fun at least.

"Hmm, yeah, it might be more fun that way," he mused, though truthfully, he thought it was okay as it was, "But this is okay too."

"It is."

Being able to talk like this with Roxas, after mostly observing for so long, would take a little getting used to, but it was nice. Companionable silence was good, too, so she let them lapse into that before asking if Roxas had met many of the others.

And so Roxas was quiet for a bit, watching people mingle and trying to see if he spotted anyone he knew.

Also, nibbling on the party snacks he'd picked up, but what else did one do when they weren't talking and had stuff to snack on?

Namine finished one of her snacks and spoke up. "How many of the others have you met?"

There were a lot of people here, after all.

"Uh, a few people."

Actually, beyond Namine helping him find a room and Pinkie Pie finding him to give him a welcoming gift, he hadn't really spoken to anyone in person until this party. And even then, he'd mostly stuck to familiar faces, at least as far as people he actively approached. But he was talking to people when they approached him.

"I've... mostly stuck to talking to people I already know, so... not many..."

Roxas's method of getting to know people was fairly similar to Namine's. She'd been here for weeks, and was still working on getting to know people and making some more friends.

"It can take a while, but everyone seems nice so far."

Roxas's shyness now had a lot to do with knowing nothing had ever been normal for him. All his previous friendships had either been formed before he had any proper concept of friendship or... not really been real. Or something. He still wondered about it sometimes. Was it possible to have a real friendship with a digital fake?

He shoved that thought aside. He'd been spending most of the party trying not to let the heavy stuff get to him, but it didn't seem to be working out.

"Yeah, they do." Although, maybe a few were a little too friendly, but he wasn't going to say this.

Namine needed to apologize for her hand in some of the digital Twilight Town issues. That was better dealt with along with other serious topics, though. If she really thought about it, a lot of her shyness came from her first experiences with others not being very pleasant at all. She wanted to have friends, but there was always a part of her that would be guarding against being used ever again. That, too, was a thought for another time, so she put it aside, letting the conversation lapse into companionable silence until a new topic presented itself.

Her answer came sooner than expected. Her snacks eaten, she looked at the drinks. Seeing what she was looking for, she reached for the bottle and a cup. "Do you want some root beer?"

Roxas was mulling over his own thoughts when Namine caught his attention asking about a drink... which sounded like a good idea.

"Hm? Oh, uh, yes, please."

He knew she had something to do with some of his memory issues, but he couldn't really bring himself to hold it against her. Then again, Sora hadn't been able too either, as far as Roxas knew.

[identity profile] colorbymemory.livejournal.com 2012-01-03 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Okay." She got another cup and poured it half-full of root beer, then handed it to Roxas. Hers was a little more full, but since they didn't know yet whether or not he liked root beer, she thought it was better to have him try just a little.

She was lucky that Sora and Roxas were willing to not hold her past actions against her. It didn't keep her from thinking that an apology was owed.

[personal profile] thirteenth_brat 2012-01-03 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
"Thanks." Roxas did actually like root beer, but he just couldn't remember when he'd figured it out. Still, everyone had a favorite brand on sodas and his favorite was only available in Twilight Town, so her caution about whether or not he liked this one was still valid.

He couldn't say for sure whether or not she should apologize for her actions. It was up to her, though for some, sometimes the one who owed or felt they owed the apology needed to give it, for their own sake. As such, if she felt she really needed to apologize to him, he would accept it.

"You're welcome." Namine hadn't known he liked it, but if he does, so much the better. She'd only just tried it a couple of months ago at her first party on the ship.

She'd say she was sorry later, when the conditions were better for more serious conversation. For now, she simply gestures toward the others. "They look like they're having fun, don't they?"

[personal profile] thirteenth_brat 2012-01-07 06:55 am (UTC)(link)
"Mm?" was his initial reply to the question as he was in the middle of a sip of soda.

"Oh. Yeah, they do."
