Rockin' Around The Charlie Brown Christmas Tree [OPEN]

Characters: Anyone and everyone!
Content: Get your Christmas Party on!
Location: The Weapons Deck
Time of day: Evening of Christmas Day, after people have gotten presents
Warnings: None...for now...

[Since the Weapons Deck is totally empty, Mike and the Bots have taken it upon themselves to transform it for a rockin’ good Christmas Party! The Charlie Brown Tree has been safely set aside too; all decorated up. There’s a table with punch, food and way too many desserts for any group of people to handle, a bunch of Christmas decorations thanks to Rarity and her decorating crew, and even Christmas music that’s only slightly annoying!

Characters are free to come in and grab food, mingle, play games, exchange gifts or stories...whatever they want! Obviously, treat this thread as party-style.

There’s one more special note...there’s a couple bowls of punch sitting next to a big pan of Green Bean Casserole of Tranquility. Unfortunately, Crow accidentally mixed in some leftover Waters of Forgetfulness to make the punch. That water, combined with the spicy punch flavoring, has created an unusual concoction. If your characters drink some of this punch, they won’t notice anything wrong...at least yet!]

Harvey had showed up similarly early, for reasons of his own, mostly involving the brand new karaoke machine he was toting under one arm. Who'da thought the kid could come up with such a useful gift? Harvey hadn't even bothered asking where he'd found it - he was pretty sure he didn't wanna know - but the singer found himself looking forward to getting the chance to perform again, even if it wasn't quite the kind of gig he was accustomed to.

He'd meant to get the thing set up before the big crowds showed up, but at the sight of Iron sitting alone by the tree, he paused. She didn't look particularly happy, did she? Harvey glanced once around the room and, not seeing Linkara anywhere nearby, went over to grab a seat by Liz. "Hey, kid," he greeted her, setting the machine on the ground between them. "You look nice."

And speaking of withdrawn lounge singers...

"Hey Mister Finevoice," Liz replied, offering a little smile, "Thanks. I just found it this afternoon. Good time to dress up for once, right?"

She looked down at the machine at Harvey's feet, amused, "So that's the big box 90s Kid was dragging down the hall the other day, huh? I'm impressed."

"Yeah? Gotta admit, I thought you mighta given him the idea," Harvey said, with his own glance at the machine. "Maybe I oughta give the kid a little more credit. Speakin' of," He shot Liz a smirk. "You're watchin' those DVDs with me sometime, y'know." His tone didn't make it entirely clear whether he actually wanted to watch the first three seasons of General Hospital or if he just wanted to make Liz suffer with him - and that was probably precisely as he liked it.

"Sounds like a fair trade. We've made you suffer through Star Trek enough times."

Harvey just chuckled a little and shook his head. Truth was, he didn't even mind Star Trek all that much most of the time; besides, Munro was a good guy. He might actually hold Iron to that if she didn't watch out, though.

His humor evaporated as he cast a quick glance around, then leaned a little closer with a sympathetic look. "Hey. You doin' alright?" He didn't have to say anything else; he knew how the holidays were for her.

Liz blinked at Harvey's change in mood. That's right, he would notice, wouldn't he. She smiled a little and shrugged.

"Just trying not to think about it, really. I mean, there's only so much I can do, right?

"I just hope they're not too worried about me. The last thing I need is some miraculous chance to see them again and suddenly I'm in an episode of Doctor Who."

There was a pause before she realized what she said, and shrugged again sheepishly. "Well...moreso than usual, any way."

Harvey shrugged. "I'm sure they know you're fine. You're tough, Iron. And hey - who knows what could happen up here?" He didn't want to go giving her false hope or anything, but...well, he really wouldn't have been surprised if the kid's parents suddenly sprang outta her closet or something one morning.

Anyway, this was a Christmas party. Best thing for homesickness was probably a good dose of distraction. "Want some punch or somethin'?" he asked, gesturing towards the buffet table. "Cookies look alright, even if that psycho pony didn't make 'em."
