Who: Sora, Roxas and Ven
Content: The boys realize there are somethings they should not be discussing over Cambot.
Time: Shortly after Ven's first Cambot post
Warnings: None
Notes: Possible spoilers for... the whole series |D

With the decision to meet up in person, Sora, Roxas and Ventus also decided on meeting in the cafeteria. Talking over snacks usually helped a little.

Roxas wasn't overly surprised that he'd arrived first, if mostly because he hadn't been far from the cafeteria when he'd seen Ven's first appearance on Cambot. Deciding he had time while he waited for the others and not entirely trusting the synthesizer, he poked about in the kitchen for a tea kettle and hopefully a pot too. And he was kind of surprised that Pinkie Pie wasn't in there at the moment, but that was okay because the stuff they were going to discuss needed to stay between them for the moment. They would likely discuss these things with the others from they're world, universe, whatever.

Tea accoutrements at hand, all Roxas really had to do while waiting for others was wait for water to boil and see what kind of snacks were available that went with tea. Maybe one day he'd ask Pinkie Pie if she knew a good recipe for tea cakes or scones or something like that. He knew one recipe for scone and it was... not the best recipe, though he was pretty sure he knew what it needed. Considering he had time to kill, he started mixing up a batch.

Sora's eyes widened at Ven's description. On the hand, that was scary enough to hear. He'd thought it had been difficult with Xemnas's swift moves and endless lasers, and his Heartless's giant ship. But being able to move whole mountains seemed somehow worse.

However, the bit that confused him was Ven saying that he was an old man. The Xehanort he'd fought definitely hadn't been that old. "That's weird...Aqua and Terra made it sound like he was the same guy I had to fight a few times. The Xehanort I knew was trying to take over all the worlds, too."

"I've never heard of that X-blade thing before...and I've seen the door to Kingdom Hearts," Sora said. They couldn't see all of what was beyond it, but at least they knew there was light in it. And this weapon could open the door to it? "'Keyblade War?' What's that supposed to be?"
salvagedlight: (apprehensive)

[personal profile] salvagedlight 2012-01-27 10:59 am (UTC)(link)
"The Keyblade War was something that happened so long ago that there were only legends of it, and even those are just bits and pieces. I didn't even believe them until we had to go to the Graveyard and fight them - there were all these old Keyblades there, just stuck in the ground where their wielders fell. Thousands of them, all up to the horizon - it was really, really creepy." Ven couldn't hold back a slight shudder at that - he and his friends had come so close to leaving their Keyblades there as well. "The War happened when Keybladers of Light and Darkness clashed, destroying or completely rearranging most of the worlds. Master Xehanort said they were trying to summon Kingdom Hearts, so maybe they were trying to have equal Light and Darkness face each other to get the χ-blade, but whatever reason they had to do it, they didn't get it. I'm pretty sure me and Vanitas are the first ones who've made it." And then he broke it. Didn't regret that at all.

But Roxas said something that didn't make much sense at all, and Ven turned to look at his... twin full on. "Your Xehanort made a Nobody? What's this Organization?"

With all the other not-coincidences that had happened between him, Roxas, Ven and everyone else, it didn't seem that likely that two Xehanorts was a coincidence. Yen Sid did say he was the key that connected everything, after all. But he had to admit, he couldn't figure out an explanation for Xehanort being old in the past and young in the future...unless he was aging backwards, which was kind of weird.

The idea of something like a Keyblade Graveyard was pretty sombering to Sora. "I've never heard that legend..." he said in a tone that indicated he was glad he hadn't heard of it before. "But why would he want to make a huge war, anyway? Why'd all those Keybearers want to open the door to Kingdom Hearts?" When he'd seen it, they'd definitely been in a hurry to close it, more than anything!

Sora did step in to answer at least part of Ven's question...if Roxas wanted to elaborate, that was up to him. "The Organization was a group of really powerful Nobodies, and they were led by Xehanort's Nobody. They were trying to make their own Kingdom Hearts by gathering lots of hearts together, so we had to stop them."
salvagedlight: (confused)

[personal profile] salvagedlight 2012-01-29 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
"Okay, I really don't get this - how does all this Nobody stuff work? You said the body without the heart could get up and start moving again, but mine never did. And you have to have some kind of heart if you could use the Keyblade, they're tied to our hearts."

This was getting far too confusing. If it kept going like this, Ven was going to call a time-out and just start everything over from the very beginning. Maybe get a lot of graph paper to plot it all out. It was that crazy.

"I don't know why he wanted it - I just know he did. Probably just for power; it's always for power." Ven shook his head a little, almost sadly. "I think the Keybearers are the only ones who know those legends anymore. I never heard anyone mention them or anything like them when I was traveling around the worlds."
optimistickey: (Curious - What's in the bottle?)

[personal profile] optimistickey 2012-01-29 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
"I guess it doesn't happen every time...I mean, the Princesses of Heart's bodies stayed fine when they lost their hearts. But their hearts didn't have any darkness in them, so I don't know if that speaks for anyone else."

As to the rest of the Organization...Sora couldn't speak much to their motives; just their methods, which he couldn't tolerate. And he definitely agreed with Ven that this was all getting too confusing.

Well, that could do it...all that Sora had heard about the Keyblade itself came from non-Keybearers, after all, considering he had never met any new ones before coming here. "Just going after power sounds like Xehanort, too...his Heartless wanted the power of the darkness in Kingdom Hearts itself, and his Nobody wanted the power of hearts."
salvagedlight: (waiting)

[personal profile] salvagedlight 2012-01-30 07:08 am (UTC)(link)
"...I don't have any darkness in me now, so maybe that explains that. If losing your heart's supposed to create a Nobody and I didn't..." It was the only thing that made sense to him. And after that first forceful separation, his heart really didn't have any darkness. If it could happen to girls, why not guys too?

But that second bit of info from Roxas draws his attention. "Body snatching? So his Heartless could... take someone over?"
optimistickey: (Friends - Back to back)

[personal profile] optimistickey 2012-01-31 06:37 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, making a Heartless doesn't always make a Nobody," Sora offered. "Only if you have a really strong heart." On the other hand, you had to have a really strong heart to use a Keyblade in the first place, so it would've been more likely than not that Ven would make a Nobody if he lost his heart. But if you artificially lost all the darkness in your heart, could that prevent a Nobody, too?

"Or just didn't know what the other was doing..." Sora mused. A part of him was unsure the Heartless and Nobody had ever even met...they seemed so completely uninterested in anything except their own goals.

At Roxas's mention of body-snatching, however, Sora was reluctant to elaborate. Yes, his Heartless had taken over Riku, and because of that they had had to fight a lot. But Sora wasn't sure if he wanted to put Riku on the spot there, especially in front of Ven. He knew that Riku had done bad things, but the point was he was better now.

Still, he had to back that up a bit. "Yeah...it did, just for a little bit."
salvagedlight: (let me count the ways)

[personal profile] salvagedlight 2012-02-02 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
And Ven didn't ask about who was bodysnatched, because to him that's not the important fact. He wasn't stupid - sheltered, yeah, with limited knowledge of some stuff, but he wasn't stupid, and Ven was starting to put some of the pieces together.

"Wait a second - if the Heartless could take over a person, and Vanitas could take over me... Both of them would be made of Darkness. And Master Xehanort gave himself over to Darkness entirely. Maybe if something's got enough will and is completely using Darkness, they can take someone over, and so maybe that's how come Master Xehanort is old and your Xehanort isn't."

But who would he have taken over, then...?
optimistickey: (Annoyed - I don't wanna!)

[personal profile] optimistickey 2012-02-02 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
Sora was at least thankful that neither Ven nor Roxas seemed to press on who was possessed. That wasn't something he wanted to go into right now. He also wasn't sure if he should go into how Roxas had been made from Sora losing his heart...not that he minded sharing that, since he didn't regret doing it, but it was all just more confusion in the face of everything they were talking about now.

And speaking of, it just seemed to get worse with Ven's idea. He didn't like that thought at all, whether for himself, Riku or anyone else. "Maybe...I thought it was just a one-time thing with Xehanort's Heartless. But if it happened with Vanitas, I guess it could happen again, too."

He crossed his arms, and voiced the question that Ven was thinking. "But if your Xehanort tried that too, then whose body did he steal? And why?" If the older Xehanort had been after this X-Blade, and he was the same as the young Xehanort, then why didn't the young Xehanort or any of his incarnations ever mention it?
salvagedlight: (huh who what)

[personal profile] salvagedlight 2012-02-05 08:59 am (UTC)(link)
Well, Ven already knew about Sora losing his heart - or at least he knew that a Nobody was formed when a person with a strong will lost his heart, and Roxas was Sora's Nobody, so he'd have to be a total idiot to not have put that together. But that wasn't the important thing at the moment, so there was no point in bringing it up.

"I don't know what happened to him in that last fight - I was going to confront him, but Terra stopped me and then all five of us were just all over the place. And I jumped to hit him, but he just grabbed me out of thin air and gripped my helmet hard enough to crack it and froze my body over completely, then tossed me off a cliff. Vanitas came down to finish me and Aqua, and then I had to face him..."

And then he died. Or lost his heart. Or came to this place. Whatever, the point was that Ven didn't know what the final outcome of the fight was, only that he'd taken Vanitas out of the picture before it could be finished.

"Riku said that you and he fought his Heartless and his Nobody, Sora - do you think you could draw a picture of him?"
optimistickey: (Thinking - Thinking this over)

[personal profile] optimistickey 2012-02-05 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Sora's face fell at that description by Ven...even in his worst fights against Xehanort's Heartless and Nobody, he'd never had all that happen to him. And now none of them quite knew what had happened to that Xehanort...

"Umm, I can try..." He'd never been that terrific of an artist, but he figured he could at least get the point across. He found a piece of paper and some pencils left on one of the tables, and set about drawing. In particular, he decided he'd try to draw Xemnas, since that was the last one he'd saw in person.

After awhile, he showed the picture to Roxas and Ven, although he figured Roxas would already recognize him. "Here's his Nobody."

salvagedlight: (wants to play with the big boys)

[personal profile] salvagedlight 2012-02-07 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
"...That's really bad, Sora." He was just being honest. Ven knew his own skills as an artist weren't professional level or anything like that, but he could do better than that. At least give the face more of a shape or something like that.

But Roxas' words get his attention immediately, of course, seeing as how the comparison he immediately went to was Terra. "He looked like Terra? But Terra doesn't have white hair."
optimistickey: (Annoyed - That makes no sense!)

[personal profile] optimistickey 2012-02-08 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
Sora huffed, looking a little annoyed at the dig at his art skills. He'd spent most of the past few years fighting, not drawing. "Hey, at least I made him look how he looks like!" Well, in the sense that he had the basics of his hair, his coat, his light weapons, and how mean he was.

"Iiiiii dunno...I feel like he was taller than Terra..." Sora said. While a part of him still had this unsettling feeling about it --the sort of weird deja vu he'd gotten when he'd first met Terra-- but he wasn't sure if he was ready to make that jump just yet. He could have sworn he remembered Xemnas feeling a lot taller than Terra was.

And he could draw Master Xehanort as a stick figure and still give the same basic idea, depending on how many sharp fangs he added dripping from his mouth.

But Ven watched Roxas uneasily, not wanting to follow that thought. Terra had been having problems with the Darkness - the argument the three of them had gotten into in Radiant Garden, the first real argument they'd had as a family with actual, serious consequences - flashed through his mind. Terra's words about not fighting the Darkness the way the Master told him to. Terra making that odd portal of both Light and Darkness to get him away from the Master that had suddenly turned on him.

...Terra putting a hand on his shoulder and reassuring him that they'd protect him. Terra laughing with him. Terra giving him his old practice Keyblade. Terra keeping him away from Xehanort during their battle.

"...You're wrong, he wouldn't do that. Not Terra."
optimistickey: (Neutral - Serious face)

[personal profile] optimistickey 2012-02-10 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
Sora wasn't sure what to say at this point, or if he should even interject here at all...Xehanort stealing Terra's body was a vague idea, and he didn't like the idea of following through on that with the info they had. On the one hand, Terra really didn't seem like a person Xehanort could use for any reason. ...But on the other, he never would have thought that could happen to Riku, too.

But Riku had been able to fight back when he was possessed, and protect his friends no matter what. Even if that did happen to Terra, wouldn't he do that, too?

"I don't know if we can know for sure either way right now," Sora said. All of the incarnations of Xehanort he'd fought had never once brought up Terra, Aqua or Ven...or, for that matter, the name Xehanort. "And..." he thought a little bit before continuing on. "...Does it really matter?"
salvagedlight: (defensive position)

[personal profile] salvagedlight 2012-02-12 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
"But Terra wouldn't fall for it, he'd never let him in. There's no way that that's true."

Ven would go on believing that until the end of his days until he had actual, physical evidence shoved into his face. And for all he liked Sora and Roxas, and normally would side with Roxas on this, his expression had gone darker as he looked at his not-twin.

"There's no possible way. Not ever."

Big bro would forever be the best.
optimistickey: (Confused - You use about that?)

[personal profile] optimistickey 2012-02-12 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Sora would definitely defend Riku however he could, but he couldn't deny that in Riku's worst moments, he had let that darkness in and it had taken him over...even caused him to destroy his home. If Terra had the same kind of darkness, maybe it could've happened to him, too.

Still, Sora didn't necessarily want to jump to that conclusion yet...especially not since Ven was looking really upset about it. He wanted to make sure that these two got along!

"I mean...it doesn't really matter right now if that happened at all. Terra's here, and he's fine. He never mentioned anything about Xehanort trying to do that. And we defeated both Xehanort's Heartless and Nobody...and he never mentioned anything about Terra, Ven, or anyone. So, no matter what happened, it must've all turned out okay, right?" He hoped that this would allay Ven's fears some, and maybe get Roxas to back off, at least for now.
