Who: Sora, Roxas and Ven
Content: The boys realize there are somethings they should not be discussing over Cambot.
Time: Shortly after Ven's first Cambot post
Warnings: None
Notes: Possible spoilers for... the whole series |D
With the decision to meet up in person, Sora, Roxas and Ventus also decided on meeting in the cafeteria. Talking over snacks usually helped a little.
Roxas wasn't overly surprised that he'd arrived first, if mostly because he hadn't been far from the cafeteria when he'd seen Ven's first appearance on Cambot. Deciding he had time while he waited for the others and not entirely trusting the synthesizer, he poked about in the kitchen for a tea kettle and hopefully a pot too. And he was kind of surprised that Pinkie Pie wasn't in there at the moment, but that was okay because the stuff they were going to discuss needed to stay between them for the moment. They would likely discuss these things with the others from they're world, universe, whatever.
Tea accoutrements at hand, all Roxas really had to do while waiting for others was wait for water to boil and see what kind of snacks were available that went with tea. Maybe one day he'd ask Pinkie Pie if she knew a good recipe for tea cakes or scones or something like that. He knew one recipe for scone and it was... not the best recipe, though he was pretty sure he knew what it needed. Considering he had time to kill, he started mixing up a batch.

Still, when he popped into the kitchen, he didn't expect to see... well, himself, and especially not baking. And just because he knew that he and Roxas looked the same over a screen, that didn't mean he was any less taken aback by it in person. "R...Roxas?"
no subject
When he arrived in the cafeteria, he stopped for a little bit at finding Roxas and Ven already there. Seeing the two in person together was especially strange...no wonder Terra and Aqua had said that Ven and Roxas could practically be twins. What's more, they also sounded almost exactly the same.
He waved to the two. "Uh...hey, guys!"
no subject
He didn't look up from what he was doing. The kettle was going to be whistling soon and he wanted to finish cleaning the stuff he'd mixed up the scones in before then.
"Hey."
no subject
When Sora walked in, Ven looked up from his place beside the counter and waved. "Hey there. So, this is gonna be different."
no subject
However, figuring out what to do with the three of them probably wouldn't be so easy. He scratched at the back of his head. "Yeah..." A part of him wondered if Ven was thinking how much he looked like Vanitas the way Roxas and Ven looked like a mirror of each other. "Do either of you remember anything else now? About what Roxas suggested, I mean."
no subject
"I think we created more questions for ourselves than we answered," he remarked with a sigh, "But, I kind of interrupted you guys. Ven, what were you going to say before I jumped in?"
no subject
But he was able to keep his composure pretty well; he looked a little uncomfortable, but he didn't voice it or show it too much, except in his eyes (which he could never, ever control and didn't realize he couldn't). Glancing from Roxas back to Sora, then back to Roxas again, Ven finally let out a heavy sigh and pushed himself up to sit on the counter behind him, letting his legs dangle. He and Roxas even had the same wristband, almost.
"This is gonna sound strange... I just found out about all of this. I haven't gotten to tell Terra and Aqua this, 'cause after I found out we went right into fighting them, and then I was here. But about four and a half years ago or so, I was training under Master Xehanort. I don't remember before that, but I must have then because he kept pulling out Heartless to send at me. He wanted me to make something called the χ-blade - not like our Keyblades, but some old letter that could also be said like 'kye.' And Light and Darkness have to face each other and fuse in the Keyblade Graveyard to do it, and he was trying to make my Darkness stronger so I would do it for him. But it scared me too much and I wouldn't do it, so he took his Keyblade and used it to unlock the Darkness in my heart, and took it right out of me completely. It made another boy - Vanitas - and that's when I lost all my memories."

He knew that Xehanort was definitely bad news, what with all that he'd done to both his friends and the worlds. This just confirmed that Xehanort had been up to no good for a long time!
However, that led to another question in Sora's mind...he knew that Xehanort looked like a young adult, at least when he lost his heart and then became both a Heartless and a Nobody. But if all this happened to Ven ten, even fifteen years ago...wouldn't that just have made Xehanort a teenager; almost their age? How could he command that much power even then? "Also...how could Xehanort do all that if he was as young as us? He was already a Master then?" Terra and Aqua had made it sound like their teacher was older and wiser than them, and Ven made it sound the same.
no subject
"Yeah... His Nobody looked to be about thirty, so when you fought him, he would have to have been around twenty then."
no subject
For a brief moment, he wished he was back in Disney Town eating ice cream - it was a lot easier being there than talking about the worst weapon in history. "The χ-blade can only be created when a heart of pure Light - me - and a heart of pure Darkness - Vanitas - meet and intersect. That's why he split my heart, because he couldn't do it with just one. He needed two. Vanitas fused with me while we were fighting just now, or he tried to at least, and the χ-blade was made. It's supposed to be able to summon Kingdom Hearts and open it, releasing all that power. I don't know what he wanted with it, but I think he wanted to recreate the Keyblade War. That or he just wanted the χ-blade itself - he was kind of rambling at the end, I just wanted to hit him instead of listen to him."
no subject
However, the bit that confused him was Ven saying that he was an old man. The Xehanort he'd fought definitely hadn't been that old. "That's weird...Aqua and Terra made it sound like he was the same guy I had to fight a few times. The Xehanort I knew was trying to take over all the worlds, too."
"I've never heard of that X-blade thing before...and I've seen the door to Kingdom Hearts," Sora said. They couldn't see all of what was beyond it, but at least they knew there was light in it. And this weapon could open the door to it? "'Keyblade War?' What's that supposed to be?"
no subject
"The odds are kind of slim that there's two separate villains with the same name, same goal and similar powers running around," he said after a moment's thought and another few moments to pour three cups of tea, "I wonder though. Whether it's one guy or two, is the goal really just conquest? His Nobody drew the others in the Organization to the cause of finding Kingdom Hearts in the first place with the promise that it had the power to restore their hearts. But that kind of power might have other uses..."
It didn't occur to Roxas until the words were out of his mouth that Sora, Riku and Lexaeus were the only ones on the satellite who knew of his previous involvement with the villainous Organization whose leader they were discussing. Though Lexaeus seemed as eager as Roxas to put the whole affair behind him.
no subject
But Roxas said something that didn't make much sense at all, and Ven turned to look at his... twin full on. "Your Xehanort made a Nobody? What's this Organization?"
no subject
The idea of something like a Keyblade Graveyard was pretty sombering to Sora. "I've never heard that legend..." he said in a tone that indicated he was glad he hadn't heard of it before. "But why would he want to make a huge war, anyway? Why'd all those Keybearers want to open the door to Kingdom Hearts?" When he'd seen it, they'd definitely been in a hurry to close it, more than anything!
Sora did step in to answer at least part of Ven's question...if Roxas wanted to elaborate, that was up to him. "The Organization was a group of really powerful Nobodies, and they were led by Xehanort's Nobody. They were trying to make their own Kingdom Hearts by gathering lots of hearts together, so we had to stop them."
no subject
"Quite a few of them had their own agendas. Most of them really did want their hearts back, but they didn't trust the Organization. A couple of them seemed happy without hearts... if that's even possible."
He fell silent for a moment, thinking. There was more, especially now that he remembered certain things. There was still a lot he didn't know, just because he'd never learned it. He took a sip of his tea before continuing.
"They picked me up because they needed a Keyblade for their plans. All I was ever told was that the Organization's goal was to make their own Kingdom Hearts so that we could all get our hearts back. They never did tell me that mine was actually still running around somewhere rather than lost in darkness like every other Nobody's heart. I wonder if that was why I could use the Keyblade anyway, even without a heart..."
no subject
This was getting far too confusing. If it kept going like this, Ven was going to call a time-out and just start everything over from the very beginning. Maybe get a lot of graph paper to plot it all out. It was that crazy.
"I don't know why he wanted it - I just know he did. Probably just for power; it's always for power." Ven shook his head a little, almost sadly. "I think the Keybearers are the only ones who know those legends anymore. I never heard anyone mention them or anything like them when I was traveling around the worlds."
no subject
As to the rest of the Organization...Sora couldn't speak much to their motives; just their methods, which he couldn't tolerate. And he definitely agreed with Ven that this was all getting too confusing.
Well, that could do it...all that Sora had heard about the Keyblade itself came from non-Keybearers, after all, considering he had never met any new ones before coming here. "Just going after power sounds like Xehanort, too...his Heartless wanted the power of the darkness in Kingdom Hearts itself, and his Nobody wanted the power of hearts."
no subject
That was troubling and if there was any significance to the body snatching, which he thought there might be, it was staying out of reach for the moment.
no subject
But that second bit of info from Roxas draws his attention. "Body snatching? So his Heartless could... take someone over?"
no subject
"Or just didn't know what the other was doing..." Sora mused. A part of him was unsure the Heartless and Nobody had ever even met...they seemed so completely uninterested in anything except their own goals.
At Roxas's mention of body-snatching, however, Sora was reluctant to elaborate. Yes, his Heartless had taken over Riku, and because of that they had had to fight a lot. But Sora wasn't sure if he wanted to put Riku on the spot there, especially in front of Ven. He knew that Riku had done bad things, but the point was he was better now.
Still, he had to back that up a bit. "Yeah...it did, just for a little bit."
no subject
It was obvious the mention had made Sora uncomfortable, so Roxas didn't go into anymore detail on it... at least, he didn't name names, though he gave Sora a meaningful look as he spoke, "I exist partly because of that. Because that Heartless dropped a hint about a Keyblade that unlocks hearts and left that Keyblade lying around after he was beaten in a fight."
If Sora didn't want to mention that Riku was specifically the one who had been possessed, Roxas wouldn't either. That part wasn't the important detail anyway. The behavior of the Heartless was.
no subject
"Wait a second - if the Heartless could take over a person, and Vanitas could take over me... Both of them would be made of Darkness. And Master Xehanort gave himself over to Darkness entirely. Maybe if something's got enough will and is completely using Darkness, they can take someone over, and so maybe that's how come Master Xehanort is old and your Xehanort isn't."
But who would he have taken over, then...?
no subject
And speaking of, it just seemed to get worse with Ven's idea. He didn't like that thought at all, whether for himself, Riku or anyone else. "Maybe...I thought it was just a one-time thing with Xehanort's Heartless. But if it happened with Vanitas, I guess it could happen again, too."
He crossed his arms, and voiced the question that Ven was thinking. "But if your Xehanort tried that too, then whose body did he steal? And why?" If the older Xehanort had been after this X-Blade, and he was the same as the young Xehanort, then why didn't the young Xehanort or any of his incarnations ever mention it?
no subject
"Well, Ven. You said Xehanort was old, right? And hunched over? Just being old an uncertain of how long he had left could be one reason he'd wante another body." One among many. There was every possibility he could then switch bodies again when the stolen body aged. And there was still another issue.
An issue that bugged Roxas a little, but the reason why was not something he wanted to bring up, "As to whose body he took... I dunno. Too bad we don't have a picture of him or his Nobody on hand. That might help us figure this out."
no subject
"I don't know what happened to him in that last fight - I was going to confront him, but Terra stopped me and then all five of us were just all over the place. And I jumped to hit him, but he just grabbed me out of thin air and gripped my helmet hard enough to crack it and froze my body over completely, then tossed me off a cliff. Vanitas came down to finish me and Aqua, and then I had to face him..."
And then he died. Or lost his heart. Or came to this place. Whatever, the point was that Ven didn't know what the final outcome of the fight was, only that he'd taken Vanitas out of the picture before it could be finished.
"Riku said that you and he fought his Heartless and his Nobody, Sora - do you think you could draw a picture of him?"
