LASERRRRRS - [Open]

Characters: Sora, and OPEN FOR ANYONE PLAYING LASERTAG
Content: One of many lasertag skirmishes, to be sure
Location: The Recreation Deck
Time of Day: Afternoon
Warnings: None thusfar

[Any characters on red team are free to either get a successful shot at him, or be shot back...and green team members can come and team up if they like! Also, treat this thread as party-style...if you want to tags others besides Sora here, go for it.]

Sora just couldn't resist something like this...it was like some of the games they used to play on the Islands when he was younger, but with real lasers. And since they didn't hurt anyone and didn't have actual ammo or anything, they could use them as much as they wanted! How could anyone go wrong with something like that?

So as soon as he'd heard this stuff was available, he ran down to the Weapons Deck and picked up a gun and a set of armor for himself. It looked like he had the green kind. He was currently spending his time prowling around the Recreation Deck, occasionally ducking behind exercise equipment, looking for anyone on the opposite team that he could potentially hit...even if he wasn't the most stealthy person around.

"Lots of reds," Kotetsu replied, "So you gotta keep things quiet. Don't want to make yourself an easy target."

Sora nodded...it sounded like Kotetsu had a little more experience with this kinda thing. Even if he actually didn't, it at least sounded like it to Sora.

"No..." He glanced back around the lockers. "But maybe we can keep each others' back covered!"

Kotetsu gave Sora a thumbs up.

"Sounds like a plan! Maybe we outta find some place to stake out."

Sora returned the thumbs-up. "Right!"

He glanced around the deck...hmm, where would be a good place to go back to back? And to attack any red team people that came their way?

"Too bad there's no bleachers here...maybe around by that pile of stuff for the pool?"

Kotetsu looked over, then nodded his approval. "Looks like a good place to start."

Sora was happy to get his approval. "Okay...let's head for that, then!"

He peaked out from behind the locker again, and then started to slowly move over towards the pool, expecting Kotetsu to follow.

Kotetsu followed, taking the whole "watch each others' backs" a bit too seriously. He walked backwards, keeping an eye out for any more red team snipers.

Sora didn't mind Kotetsu taking the game seriously, since of course, he was too. While they made their way over, he didn't spy any of red team...but of course, they could have just been hiding really well.

In due time, they made it over to the pool equipment. Now it was time to make use of that cover!

"And now... we wait."

Kotetsu peeked out from the hiding spot, scanning the area carefully.

They couldn't have picked a worse location.

Kaldur heard them enter but kept his location concealed by staying submerged beneath the water. Powers or no, Kaldur had gills and could stay under hear for quite awhile. He had also been learning stealth techniques from Robin so it wasn't difficult to remain undetected in the pool while Kotetsu and Sora ran past.

He waited a moment longer and then launched himself out of the pool. The splash was merely a distraction however and before Sora or Kotetsu could recover, Kaldur was firing shots with deadly accuracy.

Thankfully, the laser guns were water proof.

The splash was enough of a distraction to get Sora to turn towards the pool, and left him with a couple of hits for his trouble.

"Heeey!" Of all the things Sora was expecting, it wasn't Kaldur popping out of the pool to surprise them. In retrospect, he probably should've watched for it, knowing that Kaldur could breathe underwater.

But there was no time for that now! He tried to get behind the pool equipment as much as possible, and looked back towards Kotetsu. "One of us needs to get around him!"

Kotetsu took a couple of hits himself, but nodded at Sora's call. He took off for the other side of the pool, launching himself over the few obstacles in his way.

"You should be more aware of your surroundings," Kaldur chided, chuckling despite himself. He caught sight of Kotetsu moving to get around him. Well he couldn't very well have THAT. Especially since, for the moment, it was two to one and Kaldur had just forfeited his element of surprise.

Kaldur made his own decision and decided to follow Kotetsu. He attempted to fire whenever he saw an opening but it was difficult with the number of obstacles between himself and the older man. Eventually Kaldur pulled back and tucked himself away into a corner of the room, a rack of towels blocking him from view.

Sora was glad he had a teammate at this point, since otherwise he probably would've gotten way more hits from Kaldur's surprise attack. While this left Kotetsu more open, it also allowed Sora to come in and fire at Kaldur from behind. He shot at him as much as he possibly could before Kaldur went for cover again.

If they could both get on either side of the towel rack, maybe they could really get some good shots!

Kotetsu really didn't want to think about what his score was at this point. However, he was quite pleased that none of the other heroes were on the satellite. He would never hear the end of it.

Once the attacks stopped, Kotetsu skidded to a halt and looked around. He knew the general direction where the shots had come from, but he had been too focused on not running into anything that he wasn't sure where Kaldur had gone.

Kotetsu looked over at Sora and shrugged...

He didn't stay at the towel rack long. He knew he had been hit a few times, but he was fairly certain he had hit Kotetsu more. He took a breath and peered around either side of the towel rack, careful not to be seen.

Locating Kotetsu and Sora was easy enough. He waited for the moment they weren't looking before slipping out from behind the towel rack and doing a quick roll to get behind a stack of inflatable rafts.

If they came to check the towel rack they would be in for another ambush.

The counterattacks from Kaldur forced him to duck away for a bit, so he missed Kaldur's changing position. However, the attacks eventually let up, leading Sora to believe he was still taking shelter.

Keeping on the idea that they had to be quiet, Sora nodded his head in the direction of the towel rack. The last he'd seen, Kaldur had ducked behind there, and with luck they could catch him from either side. He started moving towards the rack, expecting Kotetsu to follow.

Kotetsu nodded and followed. It was time for payback. ...or so he thought.

Kaldur waited. He could hear them approaching no matter how stealthy they were attempting to be. His training with Batman and the others was starting to pay off for such things. He watched the towel rack with steady eyes and as they drew closer he withdrew further into the shadows.

He would fire and then head for the door. It was not that many paces away and he could regroup with more of team Red from there.

Sora continued his way around, still seeing no sign of Kaldur attempting to fire back. Well, hopefully they could catch him by surprise!

Once he got close enough, he picked up speed and jumped behind the towel rack, aiming--only to discover Kaldur wasn't there.

"Hey!"

"What th-..."

Once the shots were fired, Kotetsu stepped back. He still wasn't sure where their opponent was, but he fell back on his what he knew best, firing off a few shots where he instinctively thought Kaldur could be.

He waited until they were in sight. He then fired off several shots, watching as the score on his hand went up. However, Kotetsu had actually guessed correctly and the score on his head went up as well (not by much, but it was a good lucky shot and Kaldur wouldn't notice until later).

After which he made a run for it, diving back into the pool's deep in and not coming back up. Good luck hitting him now guys.

Sora could tell that he took a few hits sometime in there, but didn't see where they were coming from until Kaldur emerged from his new hiding place and jumped into the pool. By the time he turned, he was already in the water.

Sora attempted to fire into the water down at Kaldur, but the number on his hand didn't go up any. Apparently the lasers wouldn't penetrate through water that deep.

"Awwwww, come on!"

Kotetsu couldn't help a little cheer as he noticed his score go up. The cheer turned to a curse when Kaldur dove back into the pool. He grabbed Sora's arm and tugged.

"C'mon! Let's take cover and get 'im when he comes back up."

Well, you might be waiting awhile. Kaldur has gills and can stay under for quite awhile.

Let's see who can be more patient, shall we?
