LASERRRRRS - [Open]

Characters: Sora, and OPEN FOR ANYONE PLAYING LASERTAG
Content: One of many lasertag skirmishes, to be sure
Location: The Recreation Deck
Time of Day: Afternoon
Warnings: None thusfar

[Any characters on red team are free to either get a successful shot at him, or be shot back...and green team members can come and team up if they like! Also, treat this thread as party-style...if you want to tags others besides Sora here, go for it.]

Sora just couldn't resist something like this...it was like some of the games they used to play on the Islands when he was younger, but with real lasers. And since they didn't hurt anyone and didn't have actual ammo or anything, they could use them as much as they wanted! How could anyone go wrong with something like that?

So as soon as he'd heard this stuff was available, he ran down to the Weapons Deck and picked up a gun and a set of armor for himself. It looked like he had the green kind. He was currently spending his time prowling around the Recreation Deck, occasionally ducking behind exercise equipment, looking for anyone on the opposite team that he could potentially hit...even if he wasn't the most stealthy person around.

The avalanche certainly startled Roxas. It didn't land on him, thankfully, though it did bar a possible escape. The other way to go would give Ven and Sora a few shots at him. Granted, he could take some shots at them too.

There wasn't much help for it. He dashed off through the racks of stuff, taking shots at Ven and Sora as the opportunity presented itself, knowing they would get a couple hits in too. As he went, he noticed something that he might be able to put to similar use. Maybe. Up on a high shelf, right above Sora's head, was a box with a piece of fabric sticking out of it. Whether it the end of a cape or the loose end of a bolt of fabric, he didn't know, but if he could fond some way to knock it down... Actually, the shelf was slightly tilted and it looked like a good jolt might knock the box loose. If they were going to drop things on Roxas, he'd just have to return the favor.

Snickering slightly, Roxas grabbed a prop spear out of a nearby box and threw it at the shelf. The box wobbled and the shelf tipped a bit more as the prop spear clattered to the ground.

And down came the box, containing a couple bolts of fabric, but mostly just full of scraps.

...Well that was amusing.

Ven couldn't hold back a snicker as Sora was showered with fabric scraps and what looked like a few half-bolts of cotton and linen in different colors. But they had Roxas on the run! He fired a couple of shots with his gun, and then... started picking up more stuff to throw up ahead of them, aiming for anything and everything to knock it over and slow his double down. Prop weapons, road signs, plates, whatever - if it was small and throwable, Ven was throwing it. From behind the Sora scrap-monster, too.

He didn't have a real plan in mind, just stopping him. Ven had the bad feeling that if Roxas got any further into the maze that was this deck, they'd lose him for good.

Roxas hadn't really expected the box to stop Sora for long. It was just a distraction.

And speaking of distractions, the things Ven was chucking were also rather distracting. Rather than wait around, Roxas was off again, looking to either lose pursuit or find a way to score some more points. He doubted they were going to give him any more opportunities to drop stuff on them, so for now he settled for just trying to lose them among the sets and racks of supplies while also taking any opportunities to score a few hits.

"Here, take it!" Shoving his gun at Sora - yes, he was giving Sora two guns, that might have been a mistake - Ven decided to end this once and for all before their quarry escaped. Putting his speed to use, he dashed ahead at full tilt, intent on catching Roxas before he could get away once more. Ducking around piles of stuff, he probably opened himself up to a couple of shots, but at this point Ven didn't care.

Pulling loose the length of curtain he'd picked up, Ven made a last-ditch charge at Roxas before he could escape, curtain held in front of him both as a makeshift shield and potential trap. And he wasn't slowing down, either, as he kicked off the floor and jumped his duplicate, trying to tangle him up in the curtain and bring him down. You're not getting away this time, Roxas!

The last thing Roxas ever expected was for Ven to try to physically tackle him... which was probably why it worked. By the time he realized just what was happening, the only response he really had time for probably sounded like the verbal equivalent of a key smash beofre hit the ground with the other keybearer and a curtain on top of him.

If it worked, it worked! And they weren't stopping him otherwise, these lasers were (of course) not fatal, nor even harmful. Any number of shots would have put all three of them on the ground by now.

Ven grinned when his insane strategy worked, holding down the curtain to the best of his ability to keep Roxas trapped while the other boy thrashed about, trying to knock him off. "Sora! Got him!"

Now that Roxas was past confused flailing, he could focus on the ridiculousness of this. Not that he wasn't still squirming a bit.

"Seriously, you guys? I thought the point of this game was scoring as many points as you could while also avoiding getting hit." He wasn't sure he wanted to know what else they were up to besides seemingly missing the point of the game.

About the only reason he wasn't trying harder to get free was that that it was just a game and there was no sense getting anyone hurt over it. Though all bets were if Sora got any funny ideas about scoring a load of points while they had him pinned.

And Ven was grinning, though it wasn't the triumphant grin that he could have worn. "Yeah, but we weren't getting anywhere just hiding behind things like that. So, I had an idea - can we borrow your gun for awhile?"

[personal profile] thirteenth_brat 2012-03-28 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Now that made Roxas stop squirming altogether. What the hell did they want his gun for?

"Are you two crazy?" he snapped. Frankly, he believed the answer that was 'yes' but he knew they weren't likely to say that, "No, you can't have my gun. How the hell am I supposed to play the game without it?"

And Ven realized just how... crazy that really was after Roxas started protesting, and his face fell. "Oh yeah... sorry. I was just thinking, Vanitas has been trying to get me all week, even though we're on the same team - I just wanted to get him back a little."

And it's true, any pointed he scored with Roxas' gun would probably hurt their own team. Ven also doesn't want to lose.

Roxas thought about that for a moment. The fatal and glaringly obvious flaw in Sora's idea was that Roxas wasn't necessarily going to refrain from taking shots at them as soon as they let him up. They could trust him with their lives, but not with a stupid points total in a game. Admittedly, if did occur to him after the fact that he could have let them take his gun and score some points for him

"Now where would be the fun in that?" He resisted an urge to punctuate that question by shooting Sora in the foot. He did still have his gun in hand.

Unfortunately, he still had his gun in his hand and in fidgeting a little bit, he squeezed the trigger, inadvertently scoring a point... by shooting Sora in the foot.

Sudden discharge of a gun? WTF? Ven's eyes widened as he saw that - and then he started to grin.

"Okay, I've got a better idea - Sora, get that gun!"

Remember that rope, Roxas? Well Ven pulled it off his shoulder and started looping it around one of his ankles. They wouldn't take his gun, but they would make him unable to reach it for awhile.

[personal profile] thirteenth_brat 2012-04-07 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Roxas really hadn't meant to fire. His response to Sora indignant question died in his throat when Ven ordered Sora to take his gun. Unfortunately, there wasn't a whole lot he could do about, being pinned down already.

And then Ven went for the rope.

"Wh-what are you doing?!"
