Triple Terrific Party Time! [OPEN]

Warnings: Zidane may not be genocidal anymore, but he does have a certain karaoke machine...

[Pinkie's announcement after Discord's defeat wasn't just hot air. As soon as five minutes after the chaos god's last cry echoed throughout the ship, there's already music blaring out the open doors of the recreation deck. As if in defiance of Discord's attack on her there, Pinkie's filled the place with even MORE balloons than typical for one of her parties. Above the main refreshment table - which is clearly the one with the biggest cake on it - there's a few banners. The topmost one reads SO LONG DISCORD! Right below it is a smaller one saying SORRY FOR BEING A MEANIE. The bottom one is a little larger and written in a different color HAPPY LATE HEARTS AND HOOVES DAY! In all the chaos, she'd completely FORGOTTEN a holiday; could you believe it? But she was totally going to make it up now, with a party to beat all parties!]

[Guess who's never been to a Pinkie Pie party before? Ven, that's who, for all that Pinkie threatened him with one when he got to the SOL just because Terra and Aqua would be so happy to see him again. But he's heard they're pretty legendary, and, well - parties in the Land of Departure weren't horribly exciting. There was some cake and that was about it. Eraqus wasn't really a 'party dude' so much.]

[So this is a novel experience for him! Who wants to show him the ropes?]

[Kotetsu noticed Ven was looking a bit lost. ...well, once he was 100% sure it was Ven, anyway. Between this and his infamous question earlier, he was positive the poor kid must have been really sheltered. Well, that just wouldn't do, so he made his way over.]

Yo! Pretty nice, huh?

[VEN ALWAYS LOOKS HAPPIER, DAMNIT When Kotetsu pops up in front of him, Ven grins with just a trace of relief. You have no idea how sheltered the poor kid was. But he's looking to change that!]

Yeah! She really went all out, didn't she?

[He'll learn. XD Kotetsu was pleased to see that grin.] Sure did. I don't think she knows how to do anything less.

It's Pinkie, I don't think she does either. [Certainly he's never seen her do anything less than that, but he doesn't consider it a bad thing. He likes the pony. But he raises a hand to scratch at the back of his head, casting a glance at the food table a little dubiously.] So, uh, do you think the snacks are safe?

[He heard about that incident at Christmas.]

I would think so, since Pinkie made it all. Only thing I'd worry about is an excess of sugar.

[And he grins at that.] It's Pinkie, that's always going to happen. So... what do we do at one of these things? [He looks around, searching for any sort of pattern he can find, and draws precisely nothing.] Just... stand around and talk?

Whatever you think is fun, really. You can go talk to friends, or you can eat or dance. Looks like there's a karaoke machine, too, so if you want to sing...

Sing? [Ven eyes the machine for a moment, but he's... really not one to go putting himself in the spotlight if he can help it. At heart he's really a pretty private person.] Maybe later... I bet Sora's really going at that, though.

Parties on the SoL tended to be exciting in one way or another--not that Namine was an expert on parties herself. Still, she was glad to see Ven at the party.

"Hi, Ven."

She's got more experience in them than he does, at the very least. But it was good to see a friendly face, and Ven smiled as she walked up.

"Hi, Naminé. I don't think I ever got to thank you for helping me out when I acted stupid with all that flying."

Conk to the noggin was kind of making him loopy, but at least he recovered pretty well.

"You did, don't worry." Namine returned the smile. "Are you feeling better now?"

That he was here was a pretty good indication he did, but it never hurt to ask.

He laughed a bit sheepishly and raised a hand to the back of his head. "Yeah... once I got a lot of sleep, I was all right. I guess I didn't break anything, but I came a lot closer than I should have."

At least he knew better than to do it again?

"It's good that you're better, though. Are you having fun so far?"

At least, for the moment, they were relatively safe from any potential flying accidents at the party.

For the moment, but with Sora around that could change in a heartbeat.

"Yeah - it's good to see everyone like they should be, and not as a pony. I'm just... not sure what to do here, we didn't really have parties like this at home."

Sora and Ven were definitely very good at...encouraging each other in their ideas.

She gave him a sympathetic smile. "I hadn't been to one before I got here, myself. It seems like what most people do is eat snacks and talk to friends--old and new. It's a good chance to meet people you might have only talked to through Cambot. "

He'd never really gotten a chance to goof off and just be a teenager before! Just this once? Please? And really it's Sora you've gotta worry more about in that duo, Ven just kind of followed along...

"Yeah? That doesn't sound too bad. The way some of the others have talked about these things, it sounded like she was going to... I don't know, flood the entire swimming pool with chocolate or something."

Xion was not ideal for showing him the ropes by any means, but she wanted to talk to him a little more--it had been so crazy since he arrived they hadn't had a chance for a decent conversation.

"Hello, Ven."

Maybe now that things were calming down a little they could have more time to talk. Ven didn't mind at all making new friends, and Xion seemed nice.

When she walked up, he was poking at a couple of things on the snacks table, trying to decide if he trusted them or not. But when she spoke, he turned to face her with a smile.

"Xion! Hi there. How're you doing?"

Xion smiled back. "Okay, especially now that we're back to normal. You?"

She noticed him looking at the food. "I think Pinkie Pie made the food, so it should all be okay." She decided to wait on explaining about the Christmas party. Maybe if he asked.

"Yeah, I heard not to touch anything that the bots made." Mostly because he was told about Terra's constant pantsless escapades. Which he REALLY needed the mental scarring of. It was exactly why he wasn't eating or drinking anything at the party until he'd seen someone else consume it and saw them turn out okay afterwards. He didn't want to end up naked; that would just give Minako far too many ideas.

"I'm okay - my head's better, I can move around again all right and everything. The whole being a pony thing wasn't too bad, it was just kind of inconvenient until the jerk showed up."

Xion guessed it was good he'd already been warned, though if she knew more details she'd sympathize with the 'too much information' sentiment. "I don't think they know it's important to be careful with some things."

"It really wasn't bad, but Discord made it more difficult than it needed to be." She had to agree with him on that.

"A lot more difficult." A shadow passed over his face - he couldn't forget the way Aqua looked or how she sounded under that monster's influence. They got her back, but they'd had to lose her in the first place.

"But at least he's gone. And if he comes back, we'll be ready for him."

"Yes, we will." Xion's expression clouded as well. She could say a few things about how Discord had affected Sora and the results of that, but it was mostly private. "Are your friends okay now?"

Ven would likely concur with whatever she said; Aqua had been the same way, after all. But everyone was back to normal, and everyone knew that the people who had been affected by Discord wouldn't be like that normally. It seemed to be all right.

"Yeah, everyone's fine." He swung up his hands to link them behind his head in one of his casual stances, enjoying the chance to just relax now. "And I think if he does come back, people know how to resist him now. It's not a lot, but at least it's something."
